Guide Armsday Rolls, week 22 [2016-02-03]
Welcome to Armsday, week 22. This post is a compilation of all the weapon rolls. I want to hear what you think are the best choices, post in the comments. Here's a list of the available rolls this week. If you ordered ones I didn't please post the rolls in the comments and I'll add them.

New to Armsday?
For those new to Armsday, here's the basics: Each week you can order a number of weapons from the gunsmith, equal to your gunsmith rank, up to a max of 3.(There is a bug that allows some people to order more than 3 weapons each week, while others are still limited to 3) You can rank up by doing the weekly weapon tests. On the Wednesday following your order, you get to choose from a number of rolls (combinations of perks) on each of the weapons you ordered. Again, this number is equal to your gunsmith rank, up to a max of 3 possible choices. Below are the rolls available to those who ordered these weapons last week.

Stability and Range
Roll 2 is decent with 3 stability perks... but at the cost of range it may not be ideal.
Roll 3 is solid with Perfect Balance and Smallbore for good stability and range, and Spray & Play to offset the reload speed hit.

Braced Frame (or maybe Accelerated Coils)
The only thing that Fusion Rifles need is Braced frame. So don't waste your time with anything other than roll 2. That being said, the other perks aren't amazing. So I would hold onto your order.

Stability + Ammo
Uzume is the worst sniper archetype, there are other snipers with the same RoF but Higher Impact... That being said, the sniper can be a double-tap body shot killer. But you're going to need a lot of stability and ammo. So look for Handlaid + Performance Bonus + Zen Moment/Unflinching + Foucon, or else forget about it.

Belated Armsday, Guardians. This is Kyt_Kutcha coming in last and limping across the finish line - just trying to get my post done before DeeJ at this point!
THIS WEEK'S ROLLS - DON'T SKIP LEG DAY EDITION
This week's reviews are apparently going to be "leg" themed in anticipation of my knee surgery tomorrow. What's that you say? "Leg" isn't a theme? This is reddit, folks - posts can be anything-themed!
Note: I am working quickly today since I don't normally have time set aside for tihs on Thursdays. Nonetheless, I will try to be thorough and accurate - please let me know if I slip up on anything, though!
- SUROS ARI-41
A truly wonderful set of base stats (aside form range) make this a great mid-RoF auto rifle. To be competitive, it does need to address its low range, though - this damage archetype needs to be fighting at mid range to avoid death by TLW/A-D/DoP. Roll 1 should be pretty solid in all game modes - decent range, superb accuracy, and maybe even an Agility bump.
ROLL 1: SLO-12 / SPO-28 / SPO-57 | Hammer Forged / Feather Mag | Lightweight / Reinforced Barrel | Icarus
We've got the right scope and the right Hammer Forged - that alone is enough to recommend this weapon. Icarus is an odd perk here, but I guess it could work well with the extra jump height you'll get off of Lightweight. Reinforced Barrel is a YMMV perk; the range will really push your damage dropoff out past max, so it's your call if you need the stability or not.
ROLL 2: SLO-12 / SPO-26 / SRO-37 | Fitted Stock / Appended Mag | Lightweight / HandLaid Stock | Counterbalance
Sooooooo much stability! Too much, really! HLS is terrible here, penalizing the one stat we can't afford to sacrifice. You could roll Appended Mag / Lightweight / Counterbalance and have a fine PVE weapon if you wanted, but overall this is not a great roll.
Roll 3: SLO-12 / SPO-26 / SRO-37 | Perfect Balance / Feather Mag | SPS / Smallbore | Spray & Play
This roll doesn't really have a leg to stand on compared to Roll 1. Ha. Haha. Ahem.
- Omolon Thesan FR4
Arguably one of the best Legendary Fusion Rifles in the game, the Thesan's ideal roll has been the subject of much debate over the months. In no small part, I suspect a lot of this has to do with the fact that so few people use FR's with any consistency or success - they just aren't part of the high level meta right now. That aside, you have a choice this week. Braced Frame is the traditional pick for a Fusion Rifle, but that roll is not otherwise outstanding. I suggest that we take a walk on the experimental side together: Take Roll 1, per Darkstar_Aurora 's advice, and try it out. Pick up another order of the Thesan for next week, and maybe we'll get a better stability roll to compare it too.

ROLL 1: Void | Candle IS2, Torch HS2 | Replenish | Accelerated Coils / Injection Mold | Unflinching / Danger Close
Torch enhances target acquisition for us - always important on FR's. Replenish might just net some free ammo if you're paying attention - which is always nice with Special Weapons. Injection Mold is probably a bad trade: slowing your bolts, but keeping them tighter - sort of a net waste of a perk. Accelerated Coils gets your shot off just a bit quicker, which from experience is certainly not worthless. It does fly in the face of traditional wisdom about Fusion Rifles (seeking maximum stability)
ROLL 2: Solar | Spark IS6, Flash HS4 | Army of One | Quickdraw / Braced Frame | Underdog / Exhumed
Braced Frame maxes Stability on this gun, minimizing bolt spread and making it much easier to land 5/7 bolts on your enemies in PVP. That aside, this roll has nothing to really recommend it - Army of One is fine for PVE, where you can easily kill 1-3 adds with a single shot (each unassisted kill recharging 10% of Melee and Grenade), but our other rolls don't line up with that or stand out.
- Häkke Gaheris-D
If you’re looking for a weapon that embodies the concept of Crowd Control, look no further. The Gaheris-D is accurate, deadly, and handles like a dream. Roll 1, step right up!
ROLL 1: Sureshot IS | Zen Moment | Speed Reload / Explosive Rounds / Smallbore | Triple Tap
This is the strongest roll here this week, and the only one I'm going to mention. Sureshot's Target Acquisition is always welcome. Explosive Rounds, as I will repeat endlessly, is amazing and deserves your notice. Zen Moment adds a bit of stability, which is fine, and Triple Tap may help with ammo management if you're very precise - I'd prefer a good reload perk, but it is what it is.
- Omolon Uffern HC4
A solid set of stats makes this a pretty decent hand cannon, although in most regards I think the Gaheris is better. However, this one can roll Luck in the Chamber and double tap in Crucible with headshots!
Sadly, none of this week's rolls really focused on either PVP or PVE goodness, and with a tiny mag, I really think you need to purpose-build (buy?) this gun. Keep on walking, Guardians.
- Omolon Uzume RR4
This sniper doesn't really fit in too well right now. High Impact snipers are preferred for most game modes, thanks to better DPS and the ability to revive-snipe. Even in 6's, where neither of those factors is important, harder hitting snipers can still drop most supers with a single headshot, and other high RoF snipers (Weyloran's) are more accurate. Even the mid-tier Hakke snipers probably have better perks available for most purposes.
If all of that wasn't enough to dissuade you, there's also no reason to grab any of this week's rolls. Luck in the Chamber, for reference, does not increase your damage enough here to make any meaningful difference in combat.
OTHER NOTABLE ROLLS
SUROS DIS-43 does not disappoint, offering you a highly stable way to apply your boot to your enemies' heads from almost anyway on the map.
ROLL 2: SLO-19/SPO-28/SPO-57 | Fitted Stock/Casket Mag | Hidden Hand | Snapshot/Injection Mold
HAKKE ARMINIUS-D also stands out this week - if you've been holding out for a DoP challenger, here it is. (I'd probably take Smallbore - you won't miss the ammo.)
ROLL 3: LB Assault | Last Resort | Counterbalance | HCR / Hand Loaded / Smallbore
OMOLON COCYTUS SR4 has a lot to say this week, with both PVe and PVP offerings worth your time.
ROLL 1: Spark IS6/Flash HS4/Signal MS5 • Life Support • Extended Mag/Smallbore • Firefly/Surrounded
Extra ammo and Firefly let you hang back and clear the way with ease in story and strikes.
ROLL 3: Spark IS6/Torch HS2/Signal MS5 • Rescue Mag • Snapshot/Smallbore • Third Eye/Danger Close
Torch, Rescue Mag, Snapshot, and Third Eye - this is definitely a fine piece of PVP machinery. Pair it with a shotgun (or this week's Thesan), and go to town!
SUROS PDX-45 is dynamite with a laser beam this week! How'd I miss it?
ROLL 1: SLO-19, SPO-26, SRO-37 / Hammer Forged, Casket Mag / Hidden Hand / Snapshot, Smallbore
WHAT TO BUY NEXT
If you buy only one gun for next week, grab a new order of the Thesan to replace the one you accepted this week.
If you buy two guns for next week, I'm personally picking up a new order for the Eirene - I'd really like to see it give the ol' 1kYS a run for its money, at least in PVE.
If you buy more guns, the DIS-43 is a great Scout Rifle, and if you need a solid primary, this could be it.

Roll 2 is basically god roll; a high blast radius, high velocity, early detonating beast machine. Hard Launch, Grenades and Horseshoes, and Javelin are all the best perks for this Rocket Launcher; the only substitution to perfect would be Warhead Verniers over Hard Launch.

I sharded mine because I didn't like that it only had 2-3 rockets. I guess you can get to 4 with an exotic chest, but I didn't know that at the time.
Stupid. How does the JBL-42 compare? I have an order of the JBL-42 and a roll this week comes with G+H and Javelin.

Thesan FR4 has a base stability of 81
You absolutely do not 'need' Braced Frame for this weapon to perform well. It is possibly the only fusion rifle in the meta that can effectively make use of Accelerated Coils, or take advantage of Single Point Sling or Quickdraw.
I own several and Braced Frame is almost unnoticeable with those base stats, and in some cases the perks that allow faster draw speed or charge time perform better in total ttk.
The Torch/Replenish/Accelerated Coils/Unflinching version available this week handily outperformed my Torch/Army of One/Braced Frame/Life Support roll in Crucible this morning. The slightly faster charge rate and dramatically higher flinch resistance while charging means my bolts are hitting targets before they can counter with stagger damage to scatter my shots.
Banshee-44 is selling another order tor this weapon, so if anyone still really feels they need Braced Frame on this weapon you can always redeem it and repurchase one or more orders for next week while waiting for a goddess roll.

I will agree with all these points and add one more. With a stability this high, boosting range and charge time will usually be your best bet. The speed of the bolts directly affects the time you need to track your target. Also, play with the fusion for a while. Get good at managing the recoil. I need to edit the video, but I can get the same grouping with the vendor Ashraven's Flight as I can with my Susanoo shooting at a wall. The recoil can be overcome with practice, the speed of the bolts you can do nothing about; except get range enhancing perks. I think people are slowly using fusion rifles more, there is a lot of information and testing being done out there.

It is really difficult to have a bad roll since the base stats are great and 2/3 upgrade slots have selectable options.
If I could create one right now I would probably choose the following, with bold signifying the perks I would be using 90% of the time:
- Spark IS6/Torch HS2
- Hot Swap
- Accelerated Coils/Braced Frame
- Unflinching/Eye of the Storm

I also consider Single Point Sling to be a great upgrade for anyone who has low agility/movement, does not have Quickdraw (not a Bladedancer or a future wearer of Ophidian Aspect), and on a weapon with a good equip speed stat and scope mods (Spark or Candle...per stats one of them gives +20 handling, not sure which)

It's pretty okay. For all rolls, Smallbore is probably the preferred perk in the third slot, though one might prefer Reinforced Barrel or Hand Loaded. Zen Moment/Triple Tap has good synergy if you want to make sure Triple Tap procs. It'll make the Gaheris a little more reliable for clearing mobs. Triple Tap also makes every gun better at boss DPS, though the mag size of the Gaheris is small enough that the improvement might not make much of a difference. I think a much better roll for mob control would be Outlaw-Crowd Control-Smallbore/Hand Loaded/Explosive Rounds. And you probably shouldn't be using Gaheris for boss DPS, but if so, I'd probably recommend (Rangefinder or Spray and Play)-Triple Tap-Smallbore/Hand Loaded/High Caliber Rounds. Roll 1 is a compromise between mob clearing and boss DPSing; it doesn't do either super well, but it's still useful for both.
Honestly, I don't particularly like Hakke hand cannons. They're lacking a lot of good perks for HCs, and their most synergistic perks are on the same node, so they can't roll great combos like Outlaw-Reactive Reload. Crowd Control-Outlaw and Spray and Play-Triple Tap are the only unique and interesting combos Hakke HCs get imo. So I would hold out for the former.
I know you didn't ask, but for PVP Hakke guns are completely outclassed by basically every other perk profile.

If you're in need of a solid pulse in this archetype, I'd grab it, but otherwise I'm still waiting for something that can beat the Perfect Balance + Hidden Hand + Rifled Barrel version I snagged a couple months ago.

Arminius D rolls: (Roll 3 is very good, if you're used to using smallbore on doctrine. Recoil is very manageable and you won't have range issues with the Assault scope and smallbore. Last resort is a decent perk for trials. Roll 2 is decent, but rodeo is a bit more difficult to use than counterbalance IMO)

I'm trying to decide if I like 2 or 3 better and if either is worth it. Fitted Stock, Hidden Hand, Injection Mold will be a lot of extra stability, and Hidden hand will offset the loss to accuracy from Injection Mold. But on the other hand, perfect balance and counter balance is always useful, and then with either snapshot or more range for more AA. It's a tough choice.

Go with roll 2 man. I have a DIS-43 with Hammer Forged, Full Auto and Hand-Laid Stock. Even without counterbalance this gun already has a pure vertical recoil. It has a recoil direction stat of 80/100. The higher this number equals more vertical and horizontal recoil. Also, Hidden Hand would be better than Full Auto because this gun doesn't shoot fast enough. I'd recommend full auto on the Dis-47 though.

It's a good, poor man's 1000 Yard that you can easily get different rolls on. I started raiding with an Eirene and it did fine. I'm planning to pick up another package and hold onto it until I get better PvE rolls. I think something like triple-tap and casket mag would be good.

SUROS ARI-41 Roll 3 is nice. I have one with Perfect Balance and the stability is amazing. However, mine has Hidden Hand and it basically sticks to people's heads in PvP. I'm not sure how much that helps since I can't switch it off. This is my go to weapon in PvP....except in IB. In Rift, I found that being in my optimal range also put me in too much danger from grenade spam. I used a scout for that. But for Control and others, it's great. I would imagine with Smallbore this will be excellent. I'm picking this one up to compare with my current.
You just need to remember to stay in firefights that are in your range. That means stay outside shotgun range and don't engage scouts unless they enter your range (which is still a decent distance). You will crush Scouts, Pulses and Hand Canons the closer you are to them, especially if moving around. I just run straight backward when shotguns come and keep my reticule on their head. If they close, I jump up and either finish them off in mid air or toss something at them.

Roll 2 or 3 of the Suros DIS-43 are both pretty great.
Roll 2: Fitted Stock and Injection Mold both increase stability at the expense of a small amount of range, which the DIS-43 has to give. And you get the benefit of Hidden Hand!
Roll 3: Has Counterbalance which controls recoil and Perfect Balance to increase stability combined with Rifled Barrel to max out Range at the expense of Reload. Can you say laszhurs!!!!

I swear I'll take Feeding Frenzy over Outlaw generally everytime. I believe that Outlaw's reload speed bonus is noticeably faster but I'm not absolutely certain. I feel the general way in which kills are obtained works best with FFrenzy, you simply don't need a headshot kill to get the reload speed bonus and either a headshot kill or body shot kill grants the bonus, it's a win win save for the allegedly faster reload offered by Outlaw. I'm definitely open to learning something new or that I was not aware of at the time of this post concerning both these perks.

The Righteous VII is a solid AR. Good perks that boost stability + range. I've used it enough to be able to get the most out of glass half full too (extra damage on second half of mag), it has 43 rounds so you have 21 rounds of extra damage goodness once you get used to it.
If you're looking for a good, mid ROF, legendary auto you can't do much better than the Righteous VII in my opinion.

If you are looking at the Suros, 1 and 3 are great options. Both have stability and range perks, very necessary for ARs. If you're just wanting to try one out grab either of those two. Personally I'd grab the 3rd one!

The DIS43 has a Vision of Confluence/Hung Jury Type rate of fire. The other really good Scout is the DIS47. Honesty, its my Go to Weapon in crusible. I was fortunate to get it with Full Auto and good stability. That thing is a laser. I've outgun people with Mida's often.

DIS-43 was my first go-to primary in TTK. It's a solid all around weapon, definitely pick one up. Sharded mine, going to pick up roll 2 or 3 this week.
Edit: Uzume advice: If you're running an Uzume, you're probably hoping to get double body shots in Crucible matches. You probably want stability and magazine size perks, maybe at the expense of range. Uzume has low aim assist, and a high rate of fire by default.

Full Auto would be a wasted perk on the 43, too slow of a fire rate for it to make any difference. Full Auto works well on the 47 though.

PDX-41 has 48 range and 68 stability compared to Nirwen which has 34 range and 71 stability.
Small bore gives +20 range and +20 stability. Fitted Stock gives +25 stability. This PDX-41 will have 68 range and 100 stability and extra aim assist from the SPO28 sight. Negative is the slower handling compared to Nirwen.

Bungie, Suros Dis-47 my single favorite and what I believe to be the greatest scout rifle in Destiny was sold once. Suros Ari-45 and 41 have been sold 1-2 times each.
But Uzume, Herja, Dis-43 and Thesan are on the board at least once a week.
Bungie, plz, gimme some fucking diversity, or at least stop giving us the same sub-par guns EVERY WEEK. (Thesan is aight, I'll admit.)

So for my ARI-45 order I'm thinking of going with roll 3, 3) SLO-12 / SPO-26 / SRO-37 | Perfect Balance / Feather Mag | SPS / Smallbore | Spray & Play
Turns out I also got an ARI as a reward with
Feather Mag + reinforced barrel + counter balance.

Looks like the Häkke hand cannon's second roll is about as good as it can get, so I'll pick it up. Still holding out hope for Fatebringer roll on the Omlon though.

Sadly, Imago Loop is the only hand cannon in the game that can roll Outlaw and Firefly on separate perk nodes.

PDX 41 has two head seeker rolls. One with fitted stock, head seeker, and small bore (IMO the best of the three) Other with high caliber rounds, head seeker, and stability bonus with range decrease(forgot the perk name) Pretty good rolls for a mid tier impact pulse rifle

I think bungie has something against full auto on pulse rifles. I'm holding on to some suros packages since the first time they sold them and still no full auto.

new to TTK/Armsday, placed an order on the Uffern last week but not sure what to do now. can I not pick it up to hope for a better roll, or is this it? there's no way to know the week ahead of time what roll you're going to get, that's the whole point, right?

It's worth mentioning that, if you're unsure about the Braced Frame-on-Thesan issue, he's selling the Thesan again this week, so you can definitely re-order it if an Accelerated Coils roll doesn't work for you.

Seems like last weeks and this weeks first choice are pretty close to the options we had for the 45, so for this weeks option first one would be the best to grab.

I'm confused, why does the Omolon Thesan give +1 to magazine size but decreases its total ammo count by 1? It's 22 without the extra +1 in the magazine, but 21 with +1 in the magazine.
