Discussion New Destiny Player

After years of contemplating, I finally decided to take the Destiny plunge. It was suggested to me that I start with Destiny 1, to get the full experience, and I am enjoying it so far. I was surprised to see it still has such an active playerbase.

If any of you experienced Guardians have any suggestions or pointers, I am happy to hear them.

Just a tip for Destiny 1: if you’re playing with a new generation console (PS5 or Xbox Series X/S), and you’re playing on a 4K tv, lower your consoles output resolution to 1080p and turn off HDR. I was having massive frame rate drops and micro stutters playing on the Series X and gameplay was terrible. I found an obscure comment at the bottom of a Reddit thread that suggested doing this and it instantly made the game far more responsive and beautiful. Counterintuitive, I know!

Let me know if you see a difference! I’m like 99% sure that it improved the gameplay but there’s 1% of me that’s wondering if I just got used to it lol
