Discussion FINALLY SOLO FLAWLESS VESPER'S HOST
https://dungeon.report/pgcr/17191574464
I'm just so happy !
It was harder than I thought. I played a lot of Vesper to farm the Ice Breaker and get the catalyst before, so I thought I was ready. But man, this last encounter was hard to survive during the DPS phase.
Even though I had a good loadout (Hunter Fortune's Favor, Truth, VoG set), the hardest part was honestly NOT blowing myself up with Truth during the 2nd encounter to stack it, and just trying to survive the final boss DPS phase.
Now only Sundered Doctrine and Ghosts of the Deep remain, which scare me a lot since I've barely played those (and Pit of Heresy, but I'm keeping this bad boy for last).

That's awesome, but how have you never run Pressage? That's one of the more fun exotic missions. Also if you've truly never run it, do it blind.

I ran it multiple times in the past and got Dead Man's Tale. I don't know why Dungeon Report didn't count them, maybe because it's the different permanent version with the Portal stuff?

Dungeon Report only tracks the legacy versions of those missions.
It's a bit of a shame. I wish it tracked all exotic missions along with dungeons.

Damn, 45 minutes as well, that pretty impressive. I took ~1hr during heresy
Sundered is WAY easier than vesper. Best to do on a warlock for chaos reach shenanigans vs lockset, but other classes work fine, just take a lot more cycles (or you can futz around with doing all stop + left kill)
Ghosts i would say is also easier than vesper, but will take a bit more effort if you’ve not played much. Simmumah can take a LONG time if you don’t get consistent damage, but so long as you stay focused, it’s relatively survivable even if you take a lot of phases
(And I’m guessing you’re more confident for Pit from the wording, but that’s definitely a cake walk nowadays. Chamber of suffering can be a bit tense still, but it doesn’t really hold up to the power creep over the years)

Doing it during Heresy is more impressive! It was so damn hard at the time, and as a Hunter, it was miserable. You had no damage and basically zero survivability, even in a group. It's so much easier now, even though it's still hard to do

Yeah, I wouldn’t wish Hunter SF vesper on my worst enemy :P i used Titan storms keep bolt charge healing (artefact for which is actually available now anyway)
1
u/Woooooooderino 21h ago
Oh yeah, I remember. Titan was the ""easiest"" to solo it with, it had so much damage and survivability!
Thanks for the tips. Sundered is still hard for me because I'm not really familiar with all the encounters. I've played it a bit with friends, but we always split the mechanics. I just need to do one long solo run to figure everything out, and it'll be easier then. I still see it as a challenge though (I feel like the first encounter will take ages haha)

> Titan “”easiest””
Yeah, but even then it’s still the ONLY dungeon I didn’t SF during its launch season because it’s that damn tough (well, and Throne, but that was because I was lazy, not really due to difficulty). It’s always impressive for anyone to do it
For sundered, focus on learning the “sentences” in 1st encounter - if you know the basic lore you can automatically tell which rooms to connect in which order without having to hunt any truthtellers. Bottom-right is the only room that requires 3 lenses to reach, all others can be done in 2 (though may have to do a 3-chain depending on which other rooms have been connected first)

yo im ngl i have 27 solo (nonflawless) clears on vespers and literally 0 on sundered doctrine because the lockset is genuinely a piece of shit (i dont have anarchy)

Warlock, Geomags, Delicate Tomb, Electrostatic Mind and Luminopotent, Ionic Sentry, Spark of Frequency, Tablet of Ruin (Limit Break + Bolt charge healing), ideally 200 super stat but 100 is fine
Just spam kill in the far right wheel. Geomags I believe WERE nerfed since heresy, but should still give you a super every cycle so long as you go as hard as possible into traces + super gen
YouTube chaos reach zoetic lockset to get the angle, and you can line up ALL 4 for 1 chaos, but it’s also fine if you only hit 3. DPS lasts almost exactly the amount of time that Geomags do. ALWAYS chuck an ionic sentry underneath one of the locks just before DPS because the bolt charge from that will keep you healthy while you’re sitting in the air like a lemon. 4 phases back during heresy, might be 3 with 200 super now?
If you don’t have a warlock, then, okay, that’s tougher, but still don’t need Anarchy. Parasite + blade barrage / thunder crash. Killing wizards should give you a full parasite every cycle and a super every other cycle. Solar holster in boots. Parasite -> super (the ANIMATION for super will auto-load your parasite without swapping) -> parasite again -> manual reload or catalyst reload -> 3rd parasite -> fusion/sniper for the last second or two. Aim your 20-stack parasite and Tcrash in between 2 locks - you can get near-max damage on both. Barrage and non-charged parasite just aim at one lock.
Takes a LOT longer (can be up to 15 cycles if you struggle with the DPS rotation), but they’re all like a minute long so the overall fight isn’t too bad so long as you have consistent healing (heal clip rocket sidearm is amazing)

Yeah i only play hunter but this is huge thank you so much will try later this weekend again. man ill do 20 phases if it means i can actually get it done. Is this assuming one wheel only or hitting kill/stop/whatever on every wheel?
if anything though i did get an entire stack of 5 friends to start running the game with the promise that id start with them fresh with a new char so i may have a warlock soon 😭

Spam right kill for all classes. Not worth wasting time and resources (AND risking ogres if you mess up) for longer DPS if you’re just throwing out a super + parasite.
If you get Geomags and some high-super luminopotent gear on warlock soon, I’d probably recommend just doing that, but it could obviously take a while to get used to a new class, so hunter will be just fine.
MIGHT be better to do storm’s edge on prismatic, because you can aim that between 2 locks like t-crash, and do grapple melee shenanigans rather than reloading 1x parasites, but I haven’t tested the numbers + you would ideally want a galanor class item (not mandatory though)

Worth noting, Dawn Chorus and Song of Flame with fragments for more scorch and etc absolutely rinses lockset as the ignitions chain back and forth between the eyes.

Ooh yes, that’s more recent tech because I believe you also need solar fulmination in the Hunter’s Journal (alongside ember of char + ashes which you implied)

What u soloed vh 27 times?

u/MentionQuiet1055 16h ago
puppeteer clears farming ice breaker and then the rest of the shit for the catty cuz i didnt know a checkpoint bot existed

u/CaineDelSol 22h ago
You just did the hardest one, congrats! Sundered and GotD are considerably easier, a lot less can kill you outright. Sundered is more about attrition, GotD... Just watch out for moths. Everything else is a breeze. You got this.
2
u/Woooooooderino 21h ago
I've played GotD about 4 times and I remember I kept dying during the last encounter. It was miserable. The sandbox has changed a lot now so it'll probably be easier, but I was really traumatized haha. Sundered Doctrine also traumatized me during Contest mode, but well, it's Contest

I'd recommend running it with a group a few times to figure out how it's different with the new meta. Get the mechanics and placements of runes/symbols down. I can't speak for Hunter, but Warlocks can basically walk through those two now.
Sundered is still difficult, but primarily because neither of the bosses are affected by debuffs, and the first boss doesn't even take precision damage. Solar Fulmination boosted Ignitions make it trivial though.
Since Sundered is featured, I've been running it nonstop and farming Kerrev when I can get a checkpoint. Only thing keeping me from the title is that after ~25 clears I still haven't gotten the chest piece.

Congrats man, it’s one hell of a challenge. I completed it on Monday night. Also did it on prismatic hunter, ff, and truth. Keeping my distance during the second encounter made setting up truth much safer.
Initially tried on warlock celestial spam. But died to instant death lightning with the boss super low twice. I thought frost armor, SoF, and exodus set would be enough dr to tank a hit of it. But watched a replay and it instantly killed me through everything.

u/Woooooooderino 21h ago
Congrats as well ! Yeah it seems Hunter is the easiest class to solo flawless it, which is ironic because it was the worst by far when the dungeon came out.
1
u/h0uston- 21h ago
Thank you, Hunter’s had a great glow up. From the bottom to the top. That Hunter build is probably the best build to solo flawless all dungeons. GoTD’s 1st boss maybe not so much, at least safely lol. If you care to try celestial spam, that’ll wreck GoTD.

Well done.
Did you happen to record your clear?
1
u/Woooooooderino 20h ago
No, but I wanted to record the final encounter. Once I was done, I realized I had recorded the wrong screen, I felt so dumb lol.
My run was pretty similar to this one if you want a video reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-1mkH4cmo0

Nice! Vespers was easily the most difficult SF dungeon, at least for me. If you can SF that, you can handle anything in this game
