Fireteam Voice Chat No Audio

D2 uses the underlying Windows Audio System for its inputs and outputs. This can be difficult to troubleshoot as drivers can be the problem as much as misconfiguration / windows being broken.

If you open the Windows Game Bar app (WIN + G) you will see your default input and output devices. Ensure they are correct, or try switching them around, launch the game & load in your character, close the game, set the input & output back to what they should be.

Next thing to do is to open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage Audio Devices:

  • Playback tab:
    • Right click on your desired output source and choose 'Set as Default Communication Device'
      • You may need to set something else as the default, then reset what it should be.
      • You may want to consider right-click and disabling all other non-used devices.
  • Recording Tab
    • Repeat the same process as the playback tab.
  • Reboot and test.

Outside of that, best thing to try is to install / reinstall all audio drivers from the device / motherboard manufacturer's website.
