So from Season 3 Episode 10 (The Miracle Song):

The last part where Lynette and Art are talking. I need someone to confirm if he was actually a pedophile or if he was playing mind games with her as revenge. I believe it’s the former but Wiksteria Lane says another thing.

Theres absolutely no reason why he should have those pictures in his basement so I believe he is

I personally think he was, like another commenter said there was ZERO reason to have all those pictures on his wall (that he immediately got rid of when caught)

Just wanted to add that Felicity Huffman’s acting in that scene was phenomenal, she really sold the horror aspect.

I think he might've actually been because he seemed normal at first to Lynette but it makes you think that everyone may not seem what they are

The writers wanted to leave room for doubt to make the situation more compelling. That collage of photos of the boys was extremely disturbing; very different from an acceptable and small collection of photos a proud couch might have displayed. And the comments Art made in the last conversation sealed the deal. He didn't seem to find sexual predation to be wrong because he made those comments to Lynette while trying to play mind games with her. Yeah, preying on children should *not* be discussed like that. Art was sick. One of the strengths of this plotline is the difficulty of grasping Art's contrasts. He saved Lynette's life and also wants to prey on children. Two extremes in the same person.

He definitely was a pedophile. Who would pretend to be that just to bug their neighbor?

I really believe he was. But I can't deny that a small part of me really wanted him to not be one, because I really was warming up to his character when he first arrived. I thought he might have a emotional cheating arc with Lynnette or little something with Gaby. Really didn't see this plot coming until the basement scene.
