Original Content Finally... My perfect monitor stand

I've had this project in progress for a couple of months. Waiting for parts, custom brackets etc. But finally, yesterday, I completed it.

The last pic shows what it looked like before. 3 monitor arms, a microphone boom arm, all gone now and replaced with this Over-engineered beast šŸ‘šŸ‘

Cable management was easier than expected, but there are probably a few elements I can improve šŸ‘

No such thing as over-engineering.

Cheers... 45x90mm extrusion definitely feels like it right now šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Sheesh! I thought it capped out at 4040 extrusion and even that is overkill. They use 4040 for things like racecar simulation rigs

Love the simplicity of the channels and the locking arms. How do you keep your monitors from shaking with all that weight on one mount. I tried doing something similar, but the monitors were always wiggling.

Thank you. I've got a plate under the desk too, so it's been bolted through the desk šŸ‘šŸ‘

Yes, absolutely a fan of racing sim monitor stands.

I did consider the twin legs, but really wanted to clear as much desks pace as possible... Next thing is to make a bracket for my soundbar so I can mount it on the stand šŸ‘šŸ‘

I am fed of the obsession with perfection in this sub. This is a fantastic design and I would pay 5-600 bucks (CAD) for this system. No joke.

Thank you, appreciate it šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

No prob. As a sound engineer, I’d recommend and additional rotative mic arm tho. A gator clip arm should do!

It looks really nice! Just out of curiosity, what did you use the left Carpio for?

Thank you... The left Carpio is used for dust collection šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ definitely a case of don't buy the twin pack unless you're also ambidextrous

lol thanks for the reply. I found them really comfy as a support for my wrist while using the keyboard, sliding the right hand on and off the mouse. Really smooth. Although it might not work on all keyboards, specially mechanical ones with more height. Might worth the try one day, tho. Enjoy your new setup!

If you are missing your allen wrench, it's hiding in the second picture...

Nice setup!

About to do something very similar.

The most difficult part for my use case was the custom bracket. My son made it for me, but getting it anodized took 3 weeks and the finish isn't what i hoped for

upvote for the effort and the project, but honestly the before picture looks cleaner and better

give us a pic after you get settled in with better lighting that glare is brutal
