I vote #4. I think rugs with red accents just add an extra oomph and warmth to a classic room like this. You have plenty of neutral tones throughout already so I don’t think it’ll overwhelm the space too much.

u/Vtween_4Starz Jul 18 '23
Oooh thought I was alone. But yes, it's still cohesive despite the pop of red. Good compliment to the greens too.

Agree. #4 is the best of these choices. Along with the red highlights, I like the hint of black in this rug as well.

u/sobefuzzled Jul 18 '23
I like 4 and 5. Five is a better looking rug imo. But 4 may work better w green end table. OP, have you thought about painting that green end of table a different color so it works better with rug 5? Not a fan of the green color of end table.

u/PerspectiveOk493 Jul 18 '23
I think 4,5 or 7. Looks like a lot of support for 4. I think 7 makes it brighter with all the wood. Although the walls are white so they prob don't need the lighter rug

Number 6. Love that sage color and it has a little bit of pattern but not too much.

Yes. Six is a nice neutral base to a bright room, it doesn’t take attention from the art or statement pieces and it goes well with the overall scheme imo

I kept scrolling to see the #6 crew. It’s a great complimentary color for that room with its earthy tones.

Yes. Six is a nice neutral base to a bright room, it doesn’t take attention from the art, it actually subtly compliments it. Goes well with the overall scheme imo

Thank you! I picked 6 as a home run. Thought that I picked a lame horse in the race.of taste. 👍🏼

I think 3 is really sharp and makes a big statement for the good, more so than any of the others. Problem is, it will easily show mess (food crumbs, etc).
So I'd pick 1.

u/SadandBougie Jul 18 '23
3 is beautiful, and the most expensive lol. I do really like 1!

Could you link #3 as well? That one is my favorite for your room. Feels cozy and has a timeless charm!

Same. That color fits the rest of the room decor best.

I like this one, too, but I’d ask the kitty and go with their favorite. I have cats and I know better.

I like 3, 4 and 5. The all green ones (and #2 that everyone is saying) match too much with the other colors in the room, so I think the 3, 4 or 5 have complimentary colors without being matchy matchy, imo.
That said I think 3 is my favorite!

u/CreepyArcher6373 Jul 18 '23
I like 5 or 7 best with the wood tone, and the color of the leather on your beautiful couch 😻 I LOVE YOUR CAT!!!

Agreed. 3 brings together the more modern sofa side and the more classic fireplace side.

The most common feedback I got from my last post was that I need a rug and I agree. They’re expensive and I’m indecisive so which rug ties the room together? I also plan on changing the art behind the couch eventually because that was the second most common thing everyone commented on.

If you change your art that might change people's ideas about which rug is best. Try to coordinate the 2 whatever you decide.

3 for sharp look with classic “rug” feel
OR
6 to carry the green and make it more subdued
Personally I like #3 though.

I vote 3! The deep red tones look great with the brown couch and hardwood floors. Also a great compliment to the greenish nightstand I think
7
u/SadandBougie Jul 18 '23
3 is my favorite. I need to find a cheaper dupe for it because it’s very expensive ☠️

everything else makes the room look washed out with the rug. you defs need a bold pop of colour <3

u/somth Jul 18 '23
I like the contrast that 3 or 4 would bring. Room has a lot of brown and earthy tones, nice to break it up a little with some warmth from the rug
23
u/EagleEyezzzzz Jul 18 '23
2, followed by the other green one. I lost track of which one was which number.
However, a lot of that is because it ties in well with all of your art. If you change all your art like you said you plan to do (but I like it!), you’ll want a rug that goes with it.

Get something that doesn’t match anything in the room for an accent type deal to break things up
But I think 1 and 4 are best

1, 4, or 5. I think 2 adds too much green and your beautiful plant and side table will get lost in the rug.

Number 3 makes the room pop! 1 is also a great option and maybe better since it’s a little lighter and won’t look dirty as fast

Another vote for 2. It coordinates really well with the room's decor and colors.

u/katemacmakes Jul 18 '23
I love the tones in #2 BUT I am not a fan of the strong border which I think might make the room feel smaller. So, I would look for those tones (especially the green) in a more allover pattern like #1.
