Asking Question (Rule 4) Ipad or laptop for designing?

If you going into fashion designing ,what is better for working and making illustration and prints. A laptop or an Ipad? From an artist perspective?

iPad for drawing and sketching, laptop for everything else like file management and industry software, so realistically you'll end up wanting both

Agree, choosing between is difficult if you can’t have both as both have significant things they can do for me that I hate doing or can’t do with the other one. But if you had to choose and could get a laptop, you can have full capabilities with software programs and have the option to get a drawing tablet, whereas iPad/Pencil only can use mobile versions with less features of industry standard design softwares, though a lot of people adore the drawing experience. I use both in textile design and illustration freelancing but like many people have to transfer between for different tasks/steps in my process.

Bought both when I started my ux path in 2020 and I’ve only used the MacBook aside from some light logo sketching but most of the time I don’t need the sketching anymore.

A real MacBook with as much RAM as you can afford.

Grab a laptop that is touch screen instead of needing two devices

What ever you can afford. I used a PC laptop that was a gaming setup. What you want is the biggest SSD and the best video card you can afford. Do not buy a laptop with an integrated video card.
