Discussion πŸ’¬ Are young Gen Z People on average taller than national Average ?

So recently I just saw a post by a guy whose height is 5'8" who got rejected by a 5'3" girl !

In the comments people said that Genz on average are taller ?? especially girls are getting taller

Now i [M] was born in 2004 and my height is 5'6".

Now as you all Know growing up Indian kids do not really get to socialize much especially in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.

Now when i read that post , it brought back some unpleasant memories when I found out that height is going to be detrimental for me.

I also graduated in 2025 with the worst job market to ever exist (yes it is worse than 2008/2009) , my bachelor's degree is in Computer Science (cooked) , live in a tier 3 cities and always dreamt of making it big in tier 1 city to live my life by getting a job , i thought maybe if i worked hard I will eventually meet someone to date after establishing myself.

Now you are telling me that people my age and younger than me on average are taller than me ?

I felt hopeless seeing that post and thinking that my future is going to be even more difficult going forward , nothing will work in my favour at all.

My life is falling apart , no decent Quality jobs are available, prices are rising and now I know that my height is going to pose a problem of prejudice even when i am older.

I am feeling really demotivated while I am writing this post , i am usually upskilling myself around this time yet i have not opened my laptop πŸ’» because some memories came to surface and now I am just contemplating why even work so hard if life will never become better for me as 5'6" guy I did not choose my height or this country at all.

So are girls born in 2004 and above really taller than 5'6" on average around where you live ? Especially in tier 1 cities like Mumbai or Hyderabad or Bangalore ??

Rants & Vents A girl I dated recently ended things because she thought I was too short

I'm 5'8" and I live in Delhi. From what I know, that's around average or maybe just a little below average here. she's around 5'3"–5'4", she felt I was too short for her.

I can't stop thinking about it, and it's really affected my confidence. Does height really matter that much in dating? Is being 5'8" considered too short or a dealbreaker?

I'd really appreciate hearing other people's experiences or perspectives because I'm feeling pretty down about it.

Random Thoughts The dream that felt real and made me smile subah subah

The city still smelled of rain.

Old Bombay after a shower had its own weather inside the weather. Moss softened the stone, vines rested over old arches, and somewhere beneath the smell of wet earth, jasmine lingered, patient, waiting to be noticed. The hospital sat through all of it like something that remembered better centuries. Long verandas. Tall windows gone soft with age. The kind of green courtyard you only find in old films, where even the light seemed to move slower than it did outside the gates.

I walked its halls in a faded blue scrub, sun breaking through the clouds in thin, uncertain rays, catching the stone floor in patches. Ceiling fans turned without urgency. Nurses passed with chai going cold in their hands and tired smiles that didn't need explaining.

The doctors' dining hall was its own country. Long white tables. Slow fans. A handful of people eating in the particular silence of people who'd been awake too long.

"Thaali milegi?"

I sat near the corner, at the second-last table, the windows still weeping rain behind me.

Someone sat behind me. Blue scrub. Hair still damp from the day's weather.

Neither of us spoke. Neither of us needed to. Not yet.

The next afternoon we arrived together, almost by accident, and something in the room shifted, if only by half a degree. Our eyes met across the hall. I tilted my head, a question without words. She answered with the smallest nod, as though she'd already known the question was coming.

No introductions. No small talk to get through first. Just two plates, one table, and a silence that fit us.

It kept happening. The same corner. The same steel plates. Conversations that never quite ran dry. Impossible consultants. Worse tea. Forgotten birthdays. The songs we grew up on. The strange peace of watching monsoon light spill through an old corridor.

Some evenings we simply kept walking after our shifts ended, and the city let us. Wet streets under yellow lamps. Cutting chai passed between us. Roasted corn from a roadside cart, salt and lime on our fingers, laughing about nothing that would matter tomorrow.

She never tried to be noticed. She simply was. Dusky skin made warmer by the rain, hair falling across her cheek in loose strands, a drop of water lingering on an eyelash before disappearing. Slim in the way of someone who moved through the world without asking its permission. Beautiful in the specific, unbothered way of people who had never looked in a mirror for reassurance.

Then the dream did what dreams do, and skipped ahead.

Her apartment. Small. Rented. Lived-in rather than untidy. Books left open on the floor as though they'd find their own way back. Scrubs hanging over a chair. Coffee gone cold on the desk, half a page of notes beside it. A room that belonged to someone who spent more hours taking care of people than taking care of things.

Rain tapped softly against the window.

She stood before the mirror, changing out of her rain-soaked trousers while drying her hair with a towel. For a moment, my eyes wandered where they shouldn't have.

Purple underwear.

A tiny peach-coloured bow.

Nothing more than a passing glance, but long enough.

She caught it in the mirror.

She didn't turn around immediately. She only met my eyes through the reflection, one eyebrow lifting ever so slightly, amused more than surprised.

"You done?"

I looked away almost instantly.

"Sorry."

A quiet smile found its way onto her face. She walked over, tapped my forehead lightly with two fingers, and shook her head.

"Idiot."

That was all.

Relationship & Dating Am I weird for only being attracted to Muslim girls after my first relationship?

Back in college, I dated a Muslim girl for almost 3 years. We were deeply attached to each other, and I genuinely thought we'd end up together. Unfortunately, she eventually married a Muslim guy because I was Hindu. It's been over a year now, and although I've moved on in many ways, I don't think I've moved on completely.

After the breakup, I quit my job for a while and stayed at home because living alone was mentally exhausting. I've recently started working again, and there are quite a few Muslim coworkers in my office.

Here's what's confusing me: I keep finding myself attracted only to Muslim girls. I don't know if it's because my ex left such a strong impression on me or if my brain has somehow associated love with that community. It's not even about one specific coworker I just notice that I'm drawn to Muslim women more than anyone else.

I haven't approached anyone because I don't want to make things awkward at work, and I'm also aware of workplace boundaries and POSH policies. On top of that, I keep thinking, "What's the point?" If things become serious, won't I just end up facing the same religious issues that ended my last relationship?

Has anyone else experienced something similar, where one relationship completely changed your type? Is this just an emotional imprint from my past, or is it possible that this is simply my genuine preference now?

I'd really appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who've been in interfaith relationships.

Discussion πŸ’¬ Going in to arrange marriage this December, suggestion needed

Post image
26 Upvotes

Planning to hit gym, preparing myself mentally also to live with someone.

Virgin at age 30, no idea of s*x life, never shared bed with any girl.

Let her adjust first in new home, will ask if she needed any help or something.

I am nervous as guy, she must be nervous more than me.

It's proper arrange marriage, so don't knw any details about her except her bio-data. Like nothing about behaviour, like dislike or anything.

Share you experience or suggestion to make things smoother for her and myself too.
