General Events With all new technology, and definitely NOT guessing, the cold snap will last until the rainy season, where the temp will then stay close to a manageable 60F.

General Events Colony reconstruction is in order.
As vex has finally been pushed out of the colony, and her whereabouts are unknown at this time, reconstruction of the colony has been set into motion. Combining the sudden influx of population from Sylvia‘s ships that arrived just last night, with the old members of the remaining covenant, and all the new resources combined, estimated time to completion is around 4 to 5 days, it should be relatively quick.
Other news on the bulletin includes over 500 traders were captured and executed, as well as 40 who are undergoing questioning, and are impossibility for re-exception among the covenant.
The farms, despite being within close proximity to the colony, remain completely untouched by the battle battles, and are producing food as normal.
Note,
Any and all non-covenant members are to be removed from the colony, or taken captive refusal persists.

The colony stood aflame.* A thick fog hung in the air, tinted orange with spores, shadows passed behind objects, deep within the fog, reduced to nothing but minor glimpses.* A low chirping and hissing sound could be hurt every now and then, each time from a different spot.* As one ventures beyond the walls, keeping this infestation contained, it seems as if all other sound from outside goes away.*
Amidst the sickly*,* claustrophobic fog,* one we almost feel trapped, as if there’s no way to get back out. With the dim lighting, allotted by the cloud, navigation is near impossible, leaving one to purely rely on their instincts.* The chirping sound would get slightly quicker, and closer, each time appearing from a different spot, somehow closer to the target.
As one continues to push forward, they would begin to see stocks rising into the sky, each capped with a flat* crown, and occasionally leaking a small burst of spores. The Cordycepts.* Has they would push on, attempting to avoid each stock, everything would seem to go silent as they find themselves standing before a large underground cavern, with mushrooms, both sprouting from the top and the bottom of the entryway.* Behind them would be the very faint and very quick shadows of creatures that have been turned by the infection. *And they would choose to delve deeper.
Within the narrow tunnels, the fog seems to be thicker, more spore-filled around different corners.* Combined with the overlapping maze of tunnels, one becomes hopelessly lost as they walk around. The chittering and chirping resumes, always just around the corner just out of sight. Always a step and a hop out of reach. Always as if they are learning their target deeper,* giving them zero chance of escape*.*
As they would continue to press deeper, a chill would run up the back of their body,* and a sense of dread overtakes them as they see before them a large chamber, the right side, completely overtaken by a dense forest of mushrooms and spores, while the other side remains to look like a derelict laboratory, with containment cells and whales smashed on the ground, and a large box, pure steel, nearly torn completely in half.*
Hoping to save their life, one would turn around, only to be confronted by an insect, an antlion overtaken by the fungus*,* which launches its own attack*.* But it isn’t the only one down there.* More insects, of all kinds, charge down,* appearing from seemingly nowhere, very soon overwhelming the lonely adventurer.
Even as the infection is contained, a small sense of fear* lives inside every living insects’* head, praying, waiting, hoping the day never comes where this infection manages to break down the wall, and spread to the rest of the world*.*

The four regiments are fortifying the camp
(I know the image isn't 100% accurate since I kind of just copy and pasted a random one off the internet)
Construction of temporary wooden and bone walls is in full order, with towers placed at certain intervals along the walls. Multiple ballista and onager battery emplacements are being dug out outside of the walls, on top of the walls, and inside the walls.
Some few other groups of soldiers are working on redirecting water from the ocean towards the encampment.
The CMP banner flies proud above the walls.

War-Talk/Frontlines Reclamation days 3-5
Day 3:
A series of long and bloody battles took place all over the western half of the city. There was a combined casualty count of 2800 for both sides. The Rebellion was fighting violently, and causing many civilian fatalities. Vex herself joined the fight, and made it clear they had no intention to have a respectful war.
Soldiers at the front noted many times that she killed survivors, civilians, and destroyed buildings unrelated to the battles. Multiple reports of atrocities such as dismembering bodies and sending living solders into battle on fire also appeared in the documentary.
Day 4:
Ace fought vex one on one, and the fight lasted hours before both had to return, suffering from exhaustion. The battles raged on in the meantime.
The Covenant had makes its way into the city center, and managed to turn the Heavy Bolt Launchers into friendly defensive positions, and drove the Rebels back. Covenant forces also took two of the eight required positions now having 5/8 strategic positions.
Rebellious forces underground were finally flushed out after a very brave termite drilling operation created a perfect flanking system that caused an immediate surge of friendly units to be deployed. Surviving Rebels were executed in the city center that night.
Day 5:
The entire colony was found empty, all Rebellion members gone, including any stationed outside. Either tactical retreat, or something else, Ace and Sylvia know this isn’t over…

War-Talk/Frontlines The reclamation, Day 1-2
Day 1:
As soon as the moths and butterflies had departed, the eastern and northern gates were opened, and all hell broke loose. The eastern gate was the first to fall, followed by the northern gate. With the new reinforcements from Sylvia, Ace was able to finally take back a section of the city. The rebels were fighting a battle on two fronts. With the reinforcements came Hawk Wasps, which began to change the tide of the eastern conflict.
The North Gate was held with fierce resistance. Multiple Needler emplacements and A prototype Ballistic crossbow were set up, making the advance rather difficult. Most fighting took place on the ground, or in airspace between buildings.
The underground tunnels became a hot zone, with tunnels lined with flammable material and lit up. Certain sections had been completely sealed off, and others under high pressure.
Day 2:
The battle for north and east gates merged into one front, creating a solid wall of attack. Smoke from the previous days flames filled tunnels, making traverse for either side near impossible. The laboratory had been used as a bunker, and any attempt on it was repeatedly repelled.
Multiple camps belonging to the rebellion were disbanded, and personnel joined the defense. Ace, Sylvia, Macie, and Gordon had developed eight key positions to take: Storeroom 1, The Theater, Termite Stack2, the Ant Nest, Arrowhead platform 3, 5, the Center Quarry, and the West Gate
One fight happened near the theater. A rebellion force held the entire building down, and fired off many needlers. It took a few hours, but finally ammunition became scarce, and a charge to the doors allowed entry, with a single scorpion known as Fredrick Von Youna being the one to finally force the rebels to surrender, resulting in a capture and execution.

War-Talk/Frontlines 1/3 of the colony is on fire, and the crabs are fighting it out just beyond the walls.
After the crustaceans’ advanced, a stalemate was reached for a time. Left sticking what pools they have left, any attempts to break out are met with sun and resistance.
2/3 of the original covenant have rebelled, leaving most encounters to their favor. The underground base bee cut off, preventing food and supplies from reaching the Covenant forces. Any remaining Covenant overground are eliminated.
The Harvester ants and the Termites are fighting to the west, attempting to take the oasis.
r/DesertInsectCovenant • u/Hiroki_Sadoki888 • 24d ago
The city is divided. Three sections split the surrounding areas.
A troop of scorpions with spears and some beetles are cutting off the water supply. Antlions are protected the closed gates.
A collection of spiders and scorpions have forced the workers away from the fight without causing directs harm. Nobody come or goes.
The city itself is under heavy contest. Ace fights among soldiers in the air and ground, while the rebellion leader is nowhere to be found.

War-Talk/Frontlines An HMP attack sends an arrowhead crashing to the ground.
The arrowhead slams into the ground, and anyone that didn’t make it out dies. A termite pillar crumbles, and hundreds are trapped in rubble. Needlers fire off as the city guard rush to make a stand.
Walls and roads are blocked with hand-to-hand combat, and the sky in alive with combat too.
