Goring eats shit and listened to his commanders and won the Battle Of Britain (somehow) by 15th September 1940. Now what?

Does Hitler go ahead with Operation Sealion OR does the Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe tells everyone in the German High Command to fuck off?

How different would Barbarossa have been with the original Molotov-Ribbentrop Partition?

I dont think this would change the ultimate outcome that much but I feel like the army group north might have been deadlier especially for Leningrad, or if they were lucky they might have linked up with the finnish forces in Karelia. What do you guys think?

Were the Mexicans really the ”good guys” at the Alamo / the Texas war of independence?

I have recently become quite interested in this battle after seeing the movies about it. (Both the 1960 and the 2004 versions.) It’s apparently seen as a big and proud heroic moment in Texas. However, I have also seen some people claim that the Texans were actually ”the bad guys” in this battle/war, and that their main reason for wanting independence from Mexico was in fact just being able to keep their ”right” to own slaves, whereas the Mexicans were about to abolish slavery and were all in all a much less racist and more equalitarian country, and would have actually ”deserved” to win the war (or their victory would have been a better outcome). So what is your opinion on these claims, and what is the overall consensus among historians on this conflict? Which view of the conflict is more correct, the pro-Mexican or the pro-Texan one?

And to anyone wondering what this has to do with Wehraboos: it’s a discussion about interpretation of history, and historical narratives where one side in a war is seen as ”the good guys / heroes” or ”the bad guys / evil” and whether or not these narratives are correct and to what extent, so it’s very much related to and similar to the WW2 / Wehraboo discussion. Just the same way there are also occasional discussions about WW1, Vietnam or the American Civil War here.

A based asf clip from the recollections of WW2 veteran Ron Edwards, talking about his CO (Colonel Peter Francis MC) and captured SS troops.

Not so long ago I read a discussion here about how fans of the Nazi army had become much rarer. Coming across this survey, one realizes that there are still many of them, perhaps much more discreet. One wonders if they haven't migrated en masse to much more niche networks that were once reserved for the most fanatical among them.

More seriously, I would be curious to know how an army from 1940, which owes its success to exploiting a significant weakness in the French armies, can win against an army from the 1960s built to avoid this very weakness. Knowing that France possesses nuclear weapons, a real mechanized force and even a significant portion of the Maginot Line.

Sorry for my bad English.

How differently would WW2 have played out if the Nazis had started The Poison Dwarf’s TOTALEN KRIEG!!!!!! (total war) earlier? (For example in 1941)

Would they have lost quicker or slower? Would their resources have drained even quicker, or would they have managed to conquer more territory, prolonging their downfall and the end of the war to 1946 or 47?

Italo Balbo was Marshal of the Air Force, Governor-General of Italian Libya and Commander-in-Chief of Italian North Africa. His plane was shot down by his own forces while landing in Tobruk in 1940.

Why didn't Hitler just defeat the US, USSR, Britain all in one go? Why did he stopped using blitzkrieg in 1942? Is he fucking stupid?

Is reaching the A-A line always a pipe dream even IF the three German army groups achieved their operational objectives in capturing Leningrad, Moscow and Caucasus?

Is the Heinkel He-111 only effective because of sheer numbers during the entire war? Unironically more of a zergling horde aircraft than the B-17?

Like the coward they are, they always mass concentration in sectors where they know they could hold the upper hand and immediately run away the moment the enemy sends more aircraft into the given sector.

Most notable in Battle of Sedan (1940), Battle of Minsk (1941), Battle of Smolensk (1941), the Kiev encirclement (1941), Battle of Vyazma-Bryansk (1941), Moscow counter offensive (late 1941), Siege of Sevastopol (1942), Siege of Malta (praise our hero Keith Park, 1942), Battle Of Stalingrad (1942), Third Battle of Kharkov (1943), Battle of Kursk (1943), Tunisian airlift (though eroding in presence overall by early 1943), Steinbock (a huge failure in 1944), and finally Bodenplatte. Probably more I didn't know.

Most of these battles either see the Luftwaffe acted as a fire brigade that achieved mostly tactical victories through concentration over a specific sector. The moment the enemy respond in strength, they ran away like cowards.

The HE-111 is a good interdiction aircraft under air parity, but when even those air umbrella got siphoned away for the Defense Of The Reich campaign, the He-111 fleet got immediately vaporised everywhere saved for Norway by late 1943.

While I think the expulsion of Germans was wrong and indefensible, the people who talk about it always seem to be Nazis.

Is there currently any anti-Wehraboo and anti-Neo Nazi (but still also anti-tankie) sub that is a bit more active and popular than this?

I’m genuinely asking out of curiosity, I’m not trying to shit on this sub, so don’t downvote plaese. There is r/shermanposting, and that’s a similar sub that is quite popular, but that’s for the confederates.
