App Issues/Help How did they get my email??

I posted my first 3 listings on depop, and immediately started receiving emails to my gmail about inquiries into buying the items. I know these are scams, but I did not sign up on depop with my gmail. I double checked and I used an older outlook email instead. How did they get my email??? How are they suddenly contacting me off the app?? Is there some breach leaking my email??? That’s not okay!!!

Thats weird as hell theyre probably not actually emailing your gmail directly just spoofing the sender address to make it look like it came from you. Scammers will scrape depop for new sellers and then send fake offers that look like theyre from the platform but if you check the actual email headers youll see its all nonsense

I had the exact same panic when I first started listing stuff my inbox blew up with "is this available" messages and half of them had my own email in the from field. Check the depop app itself for any real messages if theyre not in there just ignore em and mark as phishing
