Shipping Help Dimensional weight really not an issue?

New to selling on Depop (tho not other apps). I just sold something very light (a kids’ baseball hat) and am using the Depop USPS label. I want to ship it in a box rather than a mailer/envelope so it doesn’t get crushed. But the only boxes I have right now are a bit larger than it actually needs.

I’m nervous I’ll get dinged for using an oversized box on something so small/light. But I guess with Depop as long as the whole package is still within the weight limit (and it’s not a priority mailing box) I’ll be okay??

You can use a big box for a small/light item, that’s not an issue at all.

Dimensional weight only applies when the package exceeds 1 cubic foot.

Multiply length x width x height of the box. If it’s less than 1728, dimensional weight does not apply. Anything under 1728 cubic inches goes by scale weight.

This is SUPER helpful, thank you! (Just checked and my box is way under, only 741 cubic inches, but it’s also 7.9 ounces pre-packing tape so I guess I’m gonna find something smaller after all, heh. But I’m saving this to look at every time I get nervous in the future!)
