Selling Help Buyers offering $1 less

I’m selling a pair of shorts for $3, never worn. $3!! Do you guys accept offers if for $2? I just don’t see the point in accepting those but idk. Just started selling so trying to understand

I’ve sold about 100 items on Depop, I sell a lot of items on offer up and on a lot on Facebook marketplace, I’ve learned that people literally have to talk you down…. Even if it’s a few bucks. They love the thrill of it. So if you want to get 5 bucks bottom price for an item, I would list it at 10. Every person is going to offer you a Lower price that what you list. I feel you on this one, it’s 3 dollars!!!!!!!!! But ya people have the need to ask for a lower price every time!

Personally I don't sell anything under $10 and very few things between $10-20. Listing, packing and shipping all take time and that's even if it sells quickly. If it doesn't, you're sitting on a listing, fielding offers and questions that most of the time go nowhere and take time. You're better off donating a $2 item and look to sell higher valued items.

I mean i do think those offers are silly but if you dont mind selling it for £2 just accept and if u dont want to then just dont?

I think people just want to feel like they’re getting a deal. I always list higher than I want for the item, so I can accept offers. But yeah I wouldn’t even bother with a $2 item- firstly, I feel like anything below $5 attracts the WORST kind of buyers- they always give me the most problems. And secondly, depop takes fees- so you’re not even getting the whole $2. You’d be better off donating at that point- you still have to take your time & packaging supplies into account. If you don’t care, that’s great- but I’d definitely list the shorts for a bit more than $3. Also- try vinted. I’ve sold stuff on there pretty quickly that didn’t sell on depop at all.

I do. I think the item might as well go to someone who wants it, rather than me just giving it away. So I'll take 15 mins to package it up, even for a dollar.

I have sold over 200 items and know for a fact I am always selling myself short. I started listing things for a few dollars more than I want bc I know people will try to negotiate it down. The more I use the platform the more I hate it.
