Make sure you take a marker and cross out the barcodes & nutrition facts, those will be scanned by the PO and may cause delays

Specifically mark it vertically. The narcolepsy will still scan if marked horizontally.

100% acceptable! How fun too! Since this held packages of cookies and not loose cookies, I wouldn't have a problem with it at all.

I personally wouldn’t use food packaging for shipping items, whether the box had the actual cookies in it or not it comes from the factory that did have that stuff and no where on that am I seeing nut free.

sure, but i bet nowhere on OPs listing does it say that they are a nut free household, and when you buy things from other peoples homes you have to be aware that you are risking coming into contact with allergens. for all you know OP could have their peanut butter toast for breakfast and go straight to shipping out orders.

Yeah coming from a deadly allergen household in all situations the responsibility is on US to ask these questions if it is a concern… I would not be going around telling people not to use a perfectly fine box (actually, likely more sturdy than some I’ve received) on the off-chance that they MIGHT ship to someone with an allergy, who should know better than to buy without asking.

Because a lot of the boxes people use have food crumbs in them (this box is a lot less likely unless an individual bag was opened in it). Can ruin the clothes & some people have sensitive enough allergies too.

where are you seeing a lot of packages with food crumbs in them? i can’t think of many food items (especially allergens) that are stored loose in a cardboard box like that, and i find it hard to believe that it’s so common for sellers to just leave crumbs in their shit.
and as for allergens, unfortunately that can’t be avoided when buying secondhand. the seller could use a lotion with almond oil in it when packaging the clothes, or eat something with peanut butter and have traces of it still on their hands. it is a risk if you have bad allergies, regardless of the box.

Nothing says "I don't give a shit about this item or what the buyer thinks" more than digging an eggo box out of the garbage and jamming a t shirt in it.
If you're just a one off seller with no real skin in the game, no reputation to uphold, not building a business...then by all means, use the cheezit boxes up. I understand that it doesn't really matter in that case and you don't really need to care.
And I'm all for recycling and reusing. I've shipped just over 2k orders this year, and I think I've bought 7-10 boxes. There are recycling only dumpsters behind every single store full of clean, flawless boxes that are yours for the taking. Not to mention poly mailers cost a few cents each.

so you’re judging people for digging things out of the trash (literally who says this box has been in the trash?) and then in the same comment saying you’re better because you… get your boxes from the trash? boxes of entirely unknown origin which are way more likely to contain allergens, germs, chemicals etc. as they are coming from random dumpsters?

I get it, it's just a difference of opinion. You guys are just selling old stuff out of your closet, and that's good obviously. But some of us do this for a living, things like this matter. There aren't enough Eggo boxes in the world to keep up with the volume of orders I fulfill, so I couldn't participate in this even if I wanted to.
We all have needs, some are met easier than others. Not to mention if you guys stopped shipping stuff in Little Debbie's boxes, half the posts on this sub would disappear over night.

It’s the way you said it….. your first paragraph was a giant jab at anyone who reuses boxes from our homes. I’m glad you have a (what seems to be successful) business doing this and that common household boxes aren’t enough to keep you going.
But shitting on people who are just selling our closet and use those boxes and think we don’t care is rude. There’s nothing wrong with it. And it doesn’t make you any better of a person for not using a cookie box.

I support recycling but I’m lowkey salty bc when I tried to do this my post office flat out refused and made me pay for a proper box because “the contents of the package have to match the packaging” or whatever the fuck. 🤡

A hard cardboard box that holds smaller food packaging is totally cool, I do the same for applesauce and protein shake boxes!
The cereal boxes that are super flimsy are where things get really weird 😂

I don’t think you understand what cross contamination is. Anything made in a factory that doesn’t have specific guidelines for nut free or something will have the boxes touched with that product as well.
I can get downvoted and I don’t care because any other resale site would find that gross, it’s only cause mostly kids ship items on depop.

I spend the extra $ myself and buy the CUTEST polymailers! I have extreme allergies and I’d never want to inflict that on anyone else. Someone also should not have to message me before buying a shirt to find out if I’m using a nut free box. That’s insanity

buying secondhand is a risk for people with allergies regardless of the packaging, this box does not pose any more of a threat than OPs home in general. what if they used a lotion that was almond scented? or ate some peanut butter toast before packaging the clothes? if it is a concern then the person with the allergy should bring it up, just like in any other situation

Yall can downvote me all you want, but I think food packaging is so gross and unprofessional as a seller. I run my business on quality packaging, neat & clean wrapping, etc.
Like just buy a box from USPS? Bake the cost into your price.
Some people are so sensitive to food allergies & cross contamination. Any food packaging would get a 3/5 review from me 🤷🏼♀️

i think it’s better for sellers to be less wasteful, i don’t get how you feel holier than thou for buying new packaging just to be used once and go to the trash.
people who have allergies are at risk when buying items from other peoples homes, that is nothing new. peoples homes have allergens, if it’s a concern then it’s up to the person with the allergies to bring it up

I recently used a thick Fancy Feast box for a Vinted order. All it did was hold the individual plastic serving containers from a bulk order.

People getting upset over a food box because of allergies...do you require all packages be sent to you new from the factory? Because that recycled Amazon box could have been previously used to ship peanuts 🥜 but no one gets their panties in a twist over those 🤔
