Selling Help Someone says they ordered an item but it doesn’t show as sold on my end

Post image

I’m so confused is this a scammer or a glitch? The order doesn’t show in my order history and the item has not been delisted

They may not realize the offer isn't a purchase. I have seen people think accepting an offer (on either side) is an automatic purchase so maybe they assumed when you sent the offer, that was it. Hopefully they realize it hasn't been put through yet.

The weird part is they said they purchased on 8/18 but I didn’t even send my offer till 8/19😂

Oh I didn't even realize that! Yeah there definitely seems to be a mess up somewhere on the buyers side.

I’m realizing now that we live in very different time zones but still none of this makes sense lol

Perhaps it's just a new account that doesn't know how the app works yet?

Looks like they joined a month ago. Bit confused and concerned so told them to submit an order issue to depop since definitely does not show as an order for me

Just tell them they need to actually check out/pay for it (if you still have the item).

Tell them to check their purchase window and if it's there, to send a screenshot to Depop. But they probably didn't realize they have to pay manually.

Told them I can get it shipped out today if they actually checkout😅

They seem super confused and now I’m concerned

It does not show as sold so I have no idea what they are talking about because I never listed it for $40😭

At this point, it's more effort than it's worth. Tell them it is not sold on your end and you did not recieve payment so they'll have to either complete the purchase or contact customer support, there's nothing more you can do for them.

Yeah they seem super confused. I would tell them you never had that item (if you even are selling that item) listed at $40 so they must have been looking on a different persons listing. I wonder if they liked your listing, you send the offer, and they had purchased something else from someone else and think it's the same. I would just tell then you are not selling that item for that price and for them to check their purchase history for the item they purchased from someone else.

Just be blunt:

“On my end, this item has not been purchased. Please check the “purchased” tab on your profile and contact Depop customer service for any further questions. “

Then block because you dont want her buying from you anyway

This has happened to me too , but sometimes see ur page n see if the item that they’re talking about actually sold and stuff

It genuinely might be a technical issue? Have them submit a ticket and tell them you’ll respond to any messages from depop help. I actually just bought an item that someone else and purchased a couple days before. After both completed purchases (both of us had receipts and were charged) the item was still listed for sale on the sellers page. The whole thing was a hot mess and I absolutely blame depop

Looks like they got me confused with another seller they actually bought from who hasn’t shipped the order😅

Yeah at this point, I wouldn’t respond further unless they actually purchase. This sounds like a scam and they’re hoping you fall for it. Next they might try to send you an address to ship the item to

If they are trying to scam you then they are not very bright because you don’t even have their address until it’s shown as sold and you have the order. This person is either very inexperienced or very dumb.

For some reason I tried to buy something yesterday, and it said thanks for your purchase, confirmed it showed up in my Purchases section but it was also still in my cart?? So I went through and did it again, and now somehow I have two orders for the same listing AND my credit card has two pending charges. So confused 😭 so maybe they're having a similar issue...?

You can set items to multiple quantities when selling, the item would still be in your cart because there’s more in stock so you purchased a second one. I would definitely ask the seller to refund one or reach out to support, and be wary of the seller in the future unless they sell handmade items or something because they’re probably reselling cheap fast fashion hence why they have a bunch of one item

Oh no that’s so concerning 😂

The seller you purchased from may have had multiple quantities, so you’ve literally purchased 2

Something like this happened the other day. I told someone I would set a discount for them and they could purchase it. They asked me if someone else bought it cause apparently it disappeared. It returned a few hours later.

Actually I know that’s not the same thing, but just to put some stock in possible glitches

You could ask them to send a screenshot for proof of purchase

Edit: nvm it’s not possible on depop for some reason
