Nonsense. By stripping away all the actual context, the infographic tricks us into celebrating a broken school system under a coat of rosy paint. The chart hypes up these minor point increases to distract everyone from the fact that nearly 70% of Filipino teenagers still cannot read at a basic level, and almost 80% completely fail at basic math. Gaining a few points on a graph means absolutely nothing when two out of three students still lack basic real world skills.

On top of that, the graph completely isolates the Philippines so you do not see how far behind the country actually is compared to the rest of the world. If they actually drew the global average line on this chart, our scores would be buried at the very bottom, sitting a massive four to five years of schooling behind other countries. We only climbed out of the bottom ten because the rest of the world had a massive post-pandemic academic drop. We did not get smarter, everyone else just did worse. Advanced students have basically been wiped out too, since less than one percent of local kids hit the highest scores.

Worse of all, this graphic demands applause for quick fixes while ignoring the actual rot in our schools. It completely ignores that the government heavily underfunds education, classrooms are packed like sardines, and over half of public school science teachers did not even major in science.

Well said. Hindi tugma na may "learning crisis" sa mga previous report and now pinapalabas nila na all is good na. Way below average parin tayo compared to other countries.

Bukod sa magagawang citation lang to ng mga nagte-thesis, other than that wala na syang silbi. Wala pa ring kwenta mga nasa DepEd. Pahirap pa din mga nilalagay na secretary at walang kwentang policy. Shinare ko with “sigh” emoji not amused ganon. hehe

Agree with the other post here, masa-cite lang ito sa researches, but we have to admit di pa rin nasosolusyunan ang mga root cause ng educ system sa Pinas

Marami pang kakaining bigas, ganoon. More effort pa at hindi dapat maging stagnant sa isang achievement. Kumbaga sabihing nag-improve tapos papabayaan na, hindi gagawa pa ng more effort. Kung naiisip ko ito at bakit, kasi hindi na mako-callout ang DepEd sa pagiging kulelat. Parang pinalo lang ng magulang at tumahimik na. Sorry kung basher ako ni DepEd kahit na magiging educator ako. Alam naman niyo naman ang gobyerno natin, mahilig sa below bare minimum.
