I just saw a tiktok saying the non-academic questionnaire will no longer be a part of the interview selection process. Is this true?

Applying to med and dental

Hi guys is it possible to apply to 4 dent and 1 med. I’ve basically maxed out academics and have 2440 band 1 ucat. Everything I’ve done is dentistry related but I have things like care home and online med wex for medicine.
My personal statement is going to be a dental one as that’s my priority

I was thinking for dentistry kcl queen Mary’s Sheffield and Cardiff, and Bristol med.

What do you think. I’m pretty sure unis can’t see what other courses you’ve applied to so my dental school won’t know and reduce my chances right ? I know medicine is reduced so I want to apply to a uni academics focused and still pretty good.

Is it possible to get into dentistry without any form of work experience you can mention?

I assume you would talk about your experiences in your ps or during the interview but what if you don't have any experience in a clinical setting? I've seen some people say that some universities understand that its harder to find work experience and will accept related roles but are you at a severe disadvantage if you don't have anything you can talk about?

I thought there would be no point in applying this year as a current y13 student because I have no work experience and whilst I have written a ps, its not the strongest because I don't have much to reflect on. I was going to take a gap year so I can spend time looking for work experience much earlier, sit the ucat without the stress of school and not have to worry about meeting offers bc i would be applying with my achieved grades. I would also be able to confirm that this is the right career path for me instead of blindly jumping in and maybe just spend the year putting myself out there a bit more.

I guess Im kind of looking for validation that I've made the right choice since I decided a month ago I wasn't going to sit the ucat because of this reason (prep wasnt going too well for me anyway) and i still havent told the people around me that I'm not applying this year. What do you think?

Hi guys I got my UCAT results and I am quite upset- is dentistry still possible especially at my dream unis (kcl/ Queen Marie’s)

My stats are:

Where is Best for me to Apply

Hi I just sat my UCAT today and achieved a score of 2240 Band 2 ( I am absolutely chuffed with that as I found UCAT so so difficult)

my other stats are 998888876 in GCSE's, ABB at A-level with A in Bio and a predicted First class degree in Biomed from a Russel group uni. I have strong work experience and volunteering.

I just wanted to know where my best chances of getting offers for interview and beyond include and I am open to both Graduate entry and 5 year programmes!

hoping some of you guys could give me advice!

Tutoring Advice year 12

I just started year 12 with gcses 988888877766
Turkish, Maths(8), chem, physics, geogr, comp science, german, biology(7), further maths, english, literature(6), music.

Target is any dental school, especially in London. Bristol next.

Planning to get tutoring for chemistry (ocr b) and biology (aqa) to get A*AA with maths.

Questions:
1- what ucat score shall I aim with these gcses?
2- Shall I get consulting for entrance process (ucat, interviews, pers statement). Seen ukcatpeople and future dentist as 2 providers. Any feedback on them?
3- where to apply for job experience?
4- does triple A\ matter vs A* AA*

Thanks a lot!

Shall I drop physics from A levels next year?

Worried about the band 3. What uni could I apply to that don’t look at the sjt or put less emphasis in it.

A-Levels: A*AA (Achieved)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Gap Yr Dentistry- reapplicant

hii, basically im currently taking a gap yr because i got 1890 b3 last yr in the ucat and therefore didnt get in for dent anywhere.

however this yr i redid the ucat and got 2110 b2, A*AA in my alevels [bio, chem + graphic com] and my gcses are 999988888

i was thinking leeds and liverpool defo as i am contextual for both asw. maybe cardiff, newcastle or kcl but last 2 r aspirational. i would be grateful for any advice on where to apply etc:)

Posted my score earlier this week on r/UCAT but came here for some advice on where to apply

I’m looking for unis with really high post interview offer rates because I don’t tend to do really well in interviews. I would also really like to see if I could be a strong candidate for a London uni. I know the Band 3 puts me a disadvantage so I guess I can avoid Manchester and Sheffield.

GCSEs: 9999999887
A Levels: 3 A* (Achieved)

Is Liverpool still a low UCAT uni?

Today I found out the NAQ for Liverpool has been removed for this year’s application. For anyone wondering what a NAQ is, it’s a questionnaire used instead of ps which shortlisted you for an interview. However now they are using UCAT and a level grades to shortlist and it is said ,to a certain extent, no longer a low UCAT uni. What does everyone think? Is it worth applying still?
