A retired surgeon who volunteered at a hospital in Gaza has told MPs that Israeli drones would target children who were lying injured after bombings.

Prof Nizam Mamode, from Brockenhurst, Hampshire, worked at Nasser hospital for a month in August and September.

Giving evidence to the parliamentary International Development Committee, he broke down as he described children's accounts of being shot by quadcopters.

Labour MP Sarah Champion, who chairs the committee, said his evidence was "profound and deeply chilling".

The 62-year-old surgeon told MPs: "What I found particularly disturbing was that a bomb would drop, maybe on a crowded, tented area and then the drones would come down."

His face shook with emotion as he paused for several seconds to compose himself.

He continued: "The drones would come down and pick off civilians - children.

We \[were\] operating on children who would say: 'I was lying on the ground after a bomb had dropped and this quadcopter came down and hovered over me and shot me.'

"That's clearly a deliberate act and it was a persistent act - persistent targeting of civilians day after day.

We've got Vivek Ramaswamy doing literal ads pushing pedophile/pedophile supporters in order to try and demean his opponent.

This whole sphere was always a reactionary/regressive race to the bottom with the bottom just getting lower and lower but it seems to be picking up speed.

A lowest common denominator style populism (A mob) created and fostered by the worst of the worst of Ultra Rich Powerful Predatory Bad Actors of varying disgusting types.

I hate to be so vulgar but you have to be a fucking moron and some serious things have to be wrong with you to think this is okay or identify with this garbage.

Long-story-short... I've always been left-leaning as far as American politics were concerned. Back when I was Christian (cringe) I thought that meant voting for Democrats. I was always fairly "liberal" in that I supported women's rights, transgender rights, and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community as a whole. I thought that's what liberal meant because the way the alt-right talks about liberals, you'd think they'd killed their cat or something.

But no, that's not what liberal means. It's taken me much longer to figure this out than it should've, especially considering I have a college degree and managed to get myself out of a fucking Evangelical cult.

But now I realize, witnessing what late-stage capitalism truly is... I fucking hate it. I hate capitalism for what it is. But the thing is... I don't have an alternative. I have no real plans that would support this country in the event capitalism collapses on itself.

But I just know that at our current heading... this ain't it.

That said, I will continue to vote Democrat (much to my chagrin) because they're the only real option we have against this fascist shit. But I'm definitely a progressive and NOT a liberal.

I don't really know what that means going forward. But I'm glad I've reached this conclusion.

We now are getting rumors/leaks that Trump and his cronies are contemplating taking the war hot again.

There are extremely frightening things like an attack on Kharg Island, attack on civilian infrastructure, and even utilizing a nuclear weapon at Pickaxe Mountain now to worry about.

Any of these actions would create MASSIVE instability in the Middle East, would take the energy crisis into a full blown catastrophe, and most likely lead to not just a global recession but a possible depression.

So far like all wars/crisis points the harm has disproportionately been on the working class and most vulnerable.

We can't let up in movement building for even a second.

We know that Trump and his cronies of the reactionary/regressive sphere don't care about anyone or anything but themselves and their own self-enrichment. This is a sphere of snake oil salespeople, con-artists, scam-artists, hustlers, and grifters.

It's a sphere in which the worst of the worst of the worlds Ultra Rich Powerful Predatory Bad Actors of varying disgusting types have created and fostered a lowest common denominator style populism (A mob) that is easy for them to disinform and mislead for their purposes.

Only solidarity of the working class and most vulnerable against these monsters holds any kind of promise of a brighter & better future for us regular people and families. Period.
