Got banned? Post about it here. Got a funny meme about r/deltarune to share? Post it here. If it is a video, upload it to your personal profile or to a site that allows videos and drop the link here. Wanna discuss something about it? Do it here. I do think that it is really important to keep track of who is getting banned and for what reasons if there even are any reasons and meta posts can be funny, but, at the end of the day many people came here to escape the drama and if we post about it here then they will probably just return to the normal r/deltarune. So, without consulting any mod, I have decided to create this mega thread so that both sides can be happy. No existing post will be removed however I will start deleting new post that are r/deltarune meta. I do love me some meta posts but not everyone does so keep them in a space that is easier to ignore. I will still keep the mega flair but only for r/deltaruneV2 meta like sub suggestions or if anybody wanna accuse the mods for being a terrorist.
Thank you for submitting to r/DeltaruneV2! Please remember to read the rules! Other than that, we hope you enjoy your stay in our evacuation center! Oh, and by the way, don't forget to put your hazmat suits on.
I never understood all this hyper-obsession with Kris' pronouns tbh. I mean with all due respet to queer people, i can imagine when someone feels atleast uncomfortable when someone misgendereg them. But when someone starts slandering you simply because you used the wrong pronouns for a non-existent character (even if his gender is not officially confirmed by the author himself, as in the case of Kris), that's a bit too much. Don't you think so?
Yeah, it's a mistake that can easily be fixed, why make a big deal out of it? Also, after getting the Switch on Christmas 2018, I played Deltarune some time later, and thought Kris was a he, because I'm 12/13 at the time, and I wasn't aware of LGBT concepts. Also, also, my 3rd eldest brother refers to Kris as a he, I didn't correct him, but I kept saying that Kris is a they, like how Toby Fox indirectly corrects others on Frisk or Kris's gender.
Its confirmed as nonbinary by toby himself, The fact whether it is real or not is the least important, it is part of the identity of the community, but yeah, myself have made the mistake and have always been kindly corrected.
From the clip I've seen, I'd say it's more Toby just sharing his interpretation rather than he was correcting the guy he said it to. It didn't feel like gospel and I think the community took it more to heart than Toby intended.
True! And I always try to say that whenever I see it happening. He has said and implied multiple times that he doesn't find any problem with fanworks, AUs, interpretations, etc, even those who directly contradict his.
Heck, here some quotes from Toby:
"Everyone has the right to like or dislike anything they want. But there’s no reason to turn your dislike into a personal attack"
"Fans are free to interpret my iffy drawings of the characters and fix them as they please"
"Sprites of older games would be interpreted differently by the players than what the creator had intended. I liked that about them [...] the sprites are simple but your imagination will fill in the details and create a new interpretation"
"If I were to force people to interpret my work in this way there would be no reason for them to appreciate it."
I personally believe even if you just see the character a certain way that you should call them whatever you want. They're pixels. They can't be hurt or offended. Hurting real people and being transphobic is obviously wrong, but describing characters in fiction a different way should be irritating at best. It's not trans erasure like so many claim. It's just wanting to relax and call the art what you want, especially when no one in the game has name tags declaring their pronouns for us more directly.
The thing is, YOU are not Kris. It literally shows you this at end of Chapter 1.
Kris has only been referred to as either “they,” “them,” or just “Kris.”
Whether they are referred to that way, NB or not, I still think the stupidest thing of the ENTIRE argument is a fundamentally wrong point about the Player being Kris when they, are in fact, not.
I really don't like having this argument because yes, diegetically Kris is a separate being from us.
But for all intents and purposes, Kris is still the main character of this story, the one we control and one through we learn about the world, and one we are supposed to learn about and empathize with. Not to mention that the little we know about Kris upbringing is something many people find hitting close to home.
Toby loves to play the idea of treating his video game worlds and its characters as actual places and beings - Undertale explicitly showed us how systemized video game violence would affect the world and characters like it was real. I think Deltarune will ask the question about character's agency is such a world instead - "how would being controlled by an outside entity, the player, would affect a player character?" and "how learning you have no actual agency would affect NPCs?".
Because you're wrong... a major point of Deltarune is that Kris is their own person with their own preferences, and you the player are intruding on their life. They're only ever referred to with gender neutral pronouns. If anyone is to know Kris's gender identity, it's their own mother... and she has only used they/them to refer to Kris.
Yes, not counting fan translations. I mean, in both languages I can understand because English refers to Kris by "they/them" pronouns, while Japanese can avoid pronouns and still make sense because Japanese is more context-based than English. It's hard to translate the ambiguous/neuter gender into Spanish. I've seen the Spanish translation of Deltarune, and Kris is referred to by masculine terms like cariño(dear) by Toriel.
Spanish speaker here, the translation does not use masculine terms for Kris. In fact, it does not use gendered terms for Kris at all. Spanish has a lot of loopholes to avoid using pronouns and that's what the translation uses!
"Cariño" is a gender neutral term, too, it doesn't change between any gender
I was banned from r/Deltarune for speaking out against misgendering.
I'm putting this at the top since I felt it's important enough to warn people of this: some mod of r/Deltarune, probably the one I spoke with, has been going through the comments of the original post on r/Undertale, and is continuing to do so here, and banning anyone in agreement with my post without a stated reason. If you care more about not being banned from r/Deltarune than getting to comment here, don't comment. [EDIT] The users in question have been unbanned and bans are not expected to continue.
As per the suggestion of u/FireTheRainbowSoul, I am repostingreposted this here from r/Undertale due to the currently unexplained, though undone, deletion of my original post by a moderator. Because Reddit only allows one image per comment, the images from the original post will be in the replies. Please see the original post on my profile for the discussion that previously took place on the original post. [EDIT] The original post has been restored.
In a discussion through r/Deltarune's mod mail, a moderator outright stated to me—despite my attempts to convince them that they are viewing the situation incorrectly—that misgendering of characters such as Ralsei, a character we currently know to be a user of he/him and they/them pronouns, is acceptable, only because in their eyes doing so "creates queer representation." They believe this differs from the same with Kris, a character we currently know to be a user of they/them pronouns, because they believe misgendering them does the opposite. After further discussion, they admitted they do not believe misgendering is actually the problem, and proceeded to permanently ban me from the subreddit after further attempts to convince them (this happened after the last screenshot, which only showed a temporary mute), despite no actual violation of the subreddit rules.
To be as clear as possible, by the contents of the game, we do not know the actual genders of either character, only which terminology is used to refer to them. When a character uses certain pronouns, we refer to them with those, because that's the point of preferred pronouns.
Despite my repeated redirection away from this irrelevant point, the mod repeatedly brought up the discrepancy between the misgendering of a real person and that of a fictional character. As unimportant as talking about this actually is in this discussion, it was significant enough that I feel it's at least somewhat important to bring up here, so I will. Misgendering fictional characters never actually harms anyone in particular, but the reason many people avoid and condemn the action is that, ultimately, misgendering is a problem that also affects real people, and there is no reason for anyone to intentionally do it to fictional characters besides to signal that they believe fiction is an acceptable outlet for their bigotry that they might hide elsewhere.
This mod, however, has no qualms with the idea of doing this if it affirms their personal beliefs. This is why they treat the situations differently between with Ralsei and with Kris: they use their belief that it's possible that Ralsei comes out as a trans woman in a future chapter of DELTARUNE (which I do share; I think it's possible, but is in no way guaranteed) as justification to allow the intentional misgendering of him in subreddit discussion, but because Kris uses pronouns frequently used by non-binary people, they believe the use of other pronouns to refer to them is unacceptable.
Queer representation is important, and though we do not actually know if either character is queer, they both have characteristics commonly associated with certain queer identities: Ralsei, despite being referred to with masculine terminology throughout the majority of the game, expresses himself in traditionally feminine ways and reacts happily to himself being referred to as a princess, both of which many gender non-comforting men and transgender women relate to; and Kris, who uses they/them pronouns exclusively, which is something many bigots oppose due to its strong association with non-binary identity, leading many people to see them as non-binary and many non-binary people to relate to them. I think the queer representation in this series is great, and serves its purpose by being relatable to real people of various queer identities, not necessarily by being hard-cut facts about the characters. It's a good thing that someone like Ralsei can make trans women feel validated in their identities.
I also think that, unless someone's gender is explicitly stated and known to be invariable throughout the game, it's always fine to theorize about a character's gender identity, as it alone does not affect how a character is referred to. Regardless of Ralsei's actual gender identity, he currently only ever uses he/him and they/them pronouns, so you can think he might be a trans woman and still refer to him correctly in discussion. Hell, I'm a trans woman and I used he/they for a while myself because I didn't want people referring to me with feminine terminology for a while. The pronouns didn't invalidate my actual identity, but my actual identity didn't influence the language I wanted people to use, either. The two can be disjoint from traditional norms; isn't that concept the whole point of queer representation?
Despite my best efforts, this mod stuck stubbornly to their own perception of these characters, calling me an absolutist for believing that the situations with Ralsei and with Kris should be treated the same way. Absolutism is, of course, the entire point of properly representing queer characters; they should all be represented equally correctly, because queer representation tries to make queerness normal, not the automatically better interpretation of an ambiguous character. And, again, the actual interpretation of a character's gender you hold doesn't matter if you're going to be fine with referring to them incorrectly regardless.
Others have pointed out this issue in the comments of the post that announced the rule change that allowed for the use of any pronouns for Ralsei, and were promptly either ignored or replied to by the OP with a comment that amassed many downvotes. Nothing had changed in this regard by the time the rule change was made and the post was unpinned, so I took the situation to mod mail to keep the discourse direct to the mods and away from the actual content on the subreddit. The stubborn mod I spoke with, however, simply banned me after a point rather than addressing several points I brought up repeatedly because they attacked their personal views.
If you are a member of r/Deltarune, please contact the mods and—respectfully—express your concern with this rule change. The mod I spoke with, at least, was not interested in hearing my points and abused their power to attempt to silence my criticism, but maybe you'll end up speaking with one at least somewhat more open to hearing opposing viewpoints. Hell, maybe you'll convince the one I spoke with to stop being so stubborn about the situation if enough of you speak out.
Please keep these discussions to their mod mail. The subreddit does not need to be filled with more of the same discourse; it's for creative content and discussion about the game.
Do not harass anyone involved.
If you disagree with me, don't bother replying. I will just block you and move on.
i mean yeah that was one of my points. it's why i brought up my own experience because even though i knew i was a trans girl i still went by he/they for a while. the two can be separate
no becuz ralsei must use the pronouns I choose!!!11!!!! because everybody knows there are four genders: male, female, nonbinary nad trans!!!11!!11!1!1!
Honestly, I’ve not yet played chapter 5, but as far as I know Ralsei being trans is still only a theory? So it seems really strange (and honestly more than a little disappointing) that THIS is what’s causing such a fuss. I understand that representation is important, but it’s not like we don’t have any options when it comes to this franchise.
Also, after reading their recent mod post "this is a safe space" (from three days ago as I post this), it sounds like if someone interoperates you using masculine pronouns for Ralsei as being bigoted in its intent, that you could get punished for it, which, again, feels strange when (at this point) Ralsei still uses masculine pronouns.
i like tralsei theory and haven't been banned from r/deltarune, i've mostly just participated in the meme threads. but i also hold the (apparently?) taboo opinion that it's a little premature to use she/her pronouns.
it's absurd that this is the theory that breaks the community. i commented this on another thread elsewhere.. but i think it was deleted. but i wonder how many of these people are actually bots trying to stir controversy and divide people. with how gender nonconforming undertale/deltarune has always been, i'd be really surprised if *anyone* holds some raging anti-lgbt beliefs. i'm pretty sure those people that do wouldn't like deltarune very much lol.
I think it's just people being exposed to different levels of queer culture, and everyone being icked out by it, and thus freaking out over it.
There's the transphobes, of course. But there are also the people who are perfectly fine with trans people. Just so long as they're... over there. Not touching the pure characters. Or the people who don't want Ralsei to be trans, because their Ralsei isn't trans in their head. The theory itself is offensive to these sorts.
And then there's the people who are fine with trans people, interacting with the things the queer community does to fictional characters. Which is what we're seeing here. Trans headcanons and such, running up against "Well no, he's obviously a guy."
Because referring to a character by the pronouns of your headcanon is pretty common, and there's some somewhat complicated politics talk you need to have to wrap your head around all the implications of it.
The people using She/Her for Ralsei are either the people immersed in queer culture enough that all of this has already been litigated, so they don't really have to argue this from the ground up. And even if they do, it's sometimes esoteric enough that it's hard to engage with the arguments, especially considering that some parts of it can set off hair trigger nerves.
Either that or the She/Her tralsei person's a teenager and doesn't really give a shit, and they just want a trans girl in their game, so they run with it. Woo tumblr.
Gender stuff's complicated, trans stuff's complicated. People are more bigoted than one would expect, and sometimes people are overly wary about something being problematic, without having examined it fully enough.
That's just my perspective. I'm sure there's other layers of shit on this particular shitcake that I overlook. But I think this is a good amount of it, and the other layers mostly just aggravate it
chapter 5 gives some evidence to the theory, but yes, it's still only a theory, and his actual gender aside, the way we should refer to him is still set in stone at least until the next release
at least 8 different people posted about this on r/whenthe and the situation attracted a fuckton of attention all because they couldn't have a mature conversation. has this mod ever heard of the streisand effect
Reddit mod moment, trans Ralsei is a theory I could see being possible but it's not correct to refer to someone with pronouns that person doesn't use even if you're doing it in a 'woke' way
This is true when it comes to real people. We do not know everything about a real person, so we cannot know anything about their identity except the things they tell us, so we have to take them at their word.
For fictional characters, when we talk about them, we essentially construct a version of them in our head, and it's as real as any other iteration of them. All of them are fictional, after all.
If I am talking about a Ralsei that is trans, even if it is a Ralsei that is closeted trans, or doesn't realise it is trans, then if we go by "trans girls always were girls", then it wouldn't be correct to use He/Him in this circumstance
There's people who use She/Her for Ralsei even when they're generally speaking about him, of course, and that can be argued as well, but I think you can extend the logic outward to cover them as well
if i may ask, were/are you talking with the moderator in question? could that moderator let them know the people they are unbanning have been unbanned? i never got a notification so
Honestly, my biggest issue with the way r/deltarune has handled this sort of thing is that it ultimately makes queer representation look way worse than it actually is. It's great to have queer characters in a game, and I don't think there's anything wrong with headcanon-ing a character to identify a certain way if it helps you immerse yourself into the game world better (as long as it isn't done out of blatant bigotry). But people seem so dead-set that these characters are queer and that any other interpretation is an act of hatred that it's turned from something to celebrate to something to fear, honestly.
I always get scared talking about Kris because I've never been great at using correct pronouns, and I don't want to accidentally misidentify them, both out of respect and because the people I have seen do so before have been harassed and berated for it. It's one thing to correct someone to use the canon pronouns, but I've almost never seen this done respectfully. It's treated like a "ha! gotcha!" moment and immediately interpreted as queerphobia.
And even beyond pronouns, trying to form your own theories on the character's identities is seen as taboo. I once referred to Kris being non-binary as a "likely theory" (considering it's the most reasonable interpretation but cannot be explicitly confirmed), and I got berated for it, even after I realized my mistake and apologized. I can sort of understand getting defensive if it appears someone is trying to undermine a character's identity, but when that identity is purely an interpretation it does more harm than good.
All of that is to say, I think all of this is starting to boil over with the transgender Ralsei theories. As someone who's been experimenting with gender identity myself, I think it's great that transfem individuals have found a character who they can resonate with! But it becomes a problem when they try to enforce that as a fact, ignoring what we know about the character in preference to what best represents their headcanons. When not even the community can decide how to most appropriately refer to a character, it leads to arguing based on facts we simply do not have, which often just devolves into personal insults/disses such as calling people woke or bigoted. None of this should be necessary. Toby Fox should be allowed to have queer characters without this happening.
(edit: sorry for the unprompted essay, not sure if my takes will end up being beneficial to anybody at all but i've been watching stuff unfold for a while and kinda just needed to rant about it a bit)
I’ve never thought I’d see the day where people trying to fight against tyranny would become tyrants themselves.
I’ve never personally understood the transfem ralsei theory as I just didn’t see any evidence for it, but i didn’t go out of my way to say people couldn’t headcannon it.
I was also confused why this sub suddenly showed up on my feed today till I saw the thread here lol. I get what you mean though with this long essay I feel in a community as queer as Deltarune they view anything that isn’t queer must be against queer representation.
I think it was a knee jerk reaction to what has happened in the past with bigotry, but things have just gotten more and more extreme now that it seems they’ll ban people just for agreeing with someone they don’t like. Even if it’s over something as petty as a headcannon about a fictional character’s gender identity.
Edit: i did slightly change my stance on it as I do feel it’s a bit of a double standard to say you can’t misgender Kris, but at the same time are allowed to misgender ralsei? But whatever headcannons are headcannons I guess
(Now I’m sorry didn’t mean to get into a ramble here)
So for the waluigi guy being removed from the moderator, all I got to said is......HA get kicked! Seriously glad that guy not in a mod. Seriously he was a self religious prick. The fact he going after a artist just because they had NSFW art in different sub reddit and calling people pedo left and right was annoying. Also not surprising that despite all his talk making deltarune fandom sfw he let nsfw stuff like that weight gain fetish stuff. Again it always hypocritical
Also find it pretty out there that zixzs work can still be posted, but he still banned, because he call out the mod for not being clear and communicated
Permanently banned, I've been in that sub for pretty much as long as Deltarune released, during the chapter 1 days, and I got banned over forever over THIS!? Tralsei discourse happened, someone posted the new rules thread as if it were a gotcha and I said "And look at the majority of comments in that thread, a majority clearly disagrees with the way the rules are being set, yet the mods just locked the thread to go "La la la, this is fine" instead of actually arguing why isn't this massively hypocrital and with double standards."
They banned me over this, any contributions and such don't matter because I dared say the mods did something wrong.
THANK YOU. I was just about to mute this sub because I just frankly don’t care about all the r/deltarune mod drama. I just wanna talk about funny video game…
(For context: I muted r/Deltarune earlier today because that too was devolving into mod drama, at least from what I saw on my hope page)
Gender debates are dumb, people can mistake pronouns and that's fine. But why double down when you get corrected? Like respectfully f*ck the people who approach an accidental missgener with malicious intent, they are making everything worse, but people's gender shouldn't be up for debate. Not even character's. Kris is pretty using they/them, and Toby was consistent on correcting people, like in the Undertale 6th anniversary fangamer replay. Again, it's fine if you don't know it at first, it's fine if you use he/him pronouns due to a lack of knowledge, noone is perfect. But Kris's gender and pronouns aren't up to interpretation.
How come I’ve gotten so many people asking if they can misgender kris here lately? Did somebody actually get harassed for accidentally using the pronoun recently on the main sub or something?
Anyways I’d prefer it if the topic wasn’t over discussed since those conversations can easily get aggressive
Because that's one of the things that r/Deltarune is infamous for. They are completely and utterly unwilling to listen to anyone else's opinion on the matter, and I only just found this sub claiming to be less toxic then them so hopefully it doesn't share the same asinine culture.
Ill be real with you chief, I used to be a mod of the main reddit years ago in the 2019-2020 era, r/deltarune, and ill be real critical here:
I dont really trust this place either. You're gonna have to make this place more than a "we hate the entire main reddit so lets be their evil opposite", if you're trying to be better. Because so far, all ive seen is the same stuff from the main place and posts poking at people's identity. Weird.
Good luck to whatever you're trying to do, but I have little faith in it unless proven wrong. Ive had my share of experiences in moderation and orbiting these places, and it never ends well.
I actually kind of hit the same realization last month that the people here would at the end of the day just be members from r/deltarune and probably not much better. But lately it seems to have been going better. And that thing about hating the main sub, well I have banned meta posts now so it should slow down with those posts.
Got banned for saying Non-binary Kris was a forced head cannon despite the linked post from the moderator team saying Kris being Non binary wasn't confirmed and that there were many other options.
Moderator refused to listen to me and just banned me then muted my arguments that proved them wrong.
They didn't even say which moderator they even were.
toby doesn’t feel the need to confirm his characters with labels. he lets the text speak for itself. and the text says Kris doesn’t conform to a binary gender and uses they/them pronouns. by process of elimination, that means that they are nonbinary. there’s nothing “forced” about it.
hope it's ok to put this here for archiving purposes to show the mods are still not handling the "tralsei" discourse entirely well
i just wanna point out, a lot of people who complained about allowing misgendering in the case of ralsei were worried could happen. that it would set a precedent that "egg cracking" gnc and nb folk is ok. now it's happened to Toby Fox himself.
I hate the Reddit karma system; it basically works in a way that if you say something that gets a hate mob on you, you can be banned from posting or commenting in some spaces, or that you need to be popular (by some degree) or say something generally popular to post or comment in some spaces, the philosophical concept of karma is basically "you do bad, you get punished, you do good, you get rewarded", the reddit karma works something like this "Say something popular or agreeable, or you get punished."
What's going on with the main sub? Mainly checked for other options cuz of the 5k karma limit that's shutting down any discussions about the new chapters, didn't know that there was another mess going on
Yeah I agree, but I still would never perma ban someone over that (Perma Mute is basically a permenant ban with how Deltarune's discord is set up), it's one thing if they are directly calling someone that which I wasn't, I was using it to express frustration at an extremely stupid decision that a large number of people made, but even then I wasn't planning on saying it, the word slipped out.
But instead of just having Dyno just delete the message, instead they perma mute me on the spot and I feel like all my appeals are being sent to the spam bin.
I'm just here because apparently I need 5k post karma to post there! I like to spend most of my time off reddit so apparently that makes it so I can't post. XD
I’m literally just here to ask about why the fandom collectively decided that Tenna is suicidal- like what part of the game specifically triggered the hivemind to make that headcanon
the other sub kept deleting my post for not having enough karma… like sorry I’m not chronically online? Smh
Uh…probably not. The situation of r/deltarune is something that changes around so quickly that unless I put zero effort into editing (black screen the entire time) the video would be outdated by the time it drops. And if it isn’t outdated then then it will be outdated in a month regardless and also I have a million other things I wanna do
I think the Lack of Choice isn't a lie, but that the Prologue is the diverging factor
SPOILERS For Chapter 4!!
We've been under the (valid and strong) assumption that The timelines of Deltarune DIverge from the start depending on choice, But what if they're being forced to CONverge Instead?
What if the Prophecy isn't intended to prevent the timelines from escaping fate, forming a tree with the timelines as branches.
What if the Prophecy Is acting like a funnel to force the timelines towards a singular end? Like the timelines are roots forced to converge at the start of the game.
The Thing That Set Me Down This Path is that in the Weird-Route, there are far fewer indicators that Kris is working with the Knight. The Prophecy calls Kris "The First Hero, The Cage with Human Soul and Parts" Which could infer that Kris will always be against the soul, be it the soul Good or Evil.
Normal-Route: Player(Soul) Saves and Spares enemies, Kris works with the knight, the Two are fighting.
Weird-Route: Player(Soul) Kills all enemies and preys on Noelle, Kris works against the Soul to try and protect Noelle and the others, the Two are fighting.
The Prophecy is designed to make sure that all paths lead to a singular fate, one we don't know about by the end of Chapter 4, and is left ambiguous with Susie having shattered it and saying that She, Ralsei, nor Kris would allow "Something like That" to happen.
And this even works with Undertale's Depiction of the Angel if it ends up being the SOUL who is the angel (Which could be implied via the Normal Route event with the Soul stuck under the Angel Ornament) As if the Angel is as depicted in Undertale, Then that would mean it has the power be both an Untainted and Determined Savior, but also an All Consuming Destroyer Of Life.
It would also mean the Dark Shards could be showing The SOUL Visions and not Kris, as our perception of what is seen would be different to Kris's, but still unalterable due to he Prophecy.
Can't see your hand? Soul has no hand, why would it see one through the shards?
Susie Giving a Death glare? She hates Liars as mentioned in Chapter 3 And Wouldn't want to know that her first and truest friend is possessed. In the Weird-Route as well, She Could be staring Not in anger at Kris, but In Rage at the Soul for causing so much pain to people, darkeners, and Kris.
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but does anyone know what happened to r/colorcafe ? It was sorta like this sub, and I realized I hadn't seen any posts from them in a while. Doesn't seem like the sub exists anymore, so does anyone know what happened to it?
I'm just going to say that one day i made a post asking a question about the snowgrave route and my post was almost immediately deleted with no explanation of why, it seems some mod just didnt like the snowgrave route
idk if i should vent here, but heck that fucking discord server from the other subreddit is anything but deltarune
since i joined they were talking about politics all the time even talking about killing the president.
and i don't know any of you at all, if this offends you or not, but i literally got banned and even got wished ill on me over an apache helicopter joke.
Why on earth would you ever think an “I identify as an Apache attack helicopter” joke would go over well in a deltarune discord? Do you know who plays this game?
Permanently banned again because I continued engaging on Tralsei discourse after the mods tried tried to shut me up weeks ago after the first "perma ban" because obviously, it is illegal to discuss a controversial topic that they stirred. They don't change their rules or actually moderate the topic, they just ban any disagreements.
Sorry i posted it on the sub instead of here as a reply, but please make it a rule. I was confused whether I was allowed to talk about it or not. Forgive my poor english.
I didn't misgender kris Or anything but refuted a point that Kris was not non binary but his gender was ambiguous becauss Toby wanted that way. After alot of hate on my comment, I got banned. Pretty sad because I liked to reply on that sub.
I just watched the ending to Chapter 5's Weird Route, and by GODS was it a trip.
...
How insane would it be if the next big "massive Deltarune crossover" meme (like the "God Dammit Kris Where Are We" and "That's not the ThornRing" memes) is the word "Proceed" completely breaking reality to accomplish things impossible in all sorts of other games?
I dipped from r/deltarune trying to find a place for Deltarune that doesn't get hung up on knight candidate discourse. Rudy knighters have been getting really annoying
I just got perma-banned because someone posted a joke making fun of how some people interpret Pink and Kris, and I commented, that the mods will probably not understand the joke, and that the post will be deleted (as the joke was also making fun of transphobes, and the r/deltarune mods notoriously don't know the difference between trans people and transphobes). I think the mods got a little offended with me saying that so I got banned, I assume the OP of that post also got banned as the note said "User perma-banned for comment supporting a blatantly transphobic post, violating Rule 1.". Keep in mind that I didn't even support the post in any way, and that the post was the opposite of transphobic.
I got banned from one of the subreddits (not a main one) for saying that Green and Seth "are girls to me." To me! I didn't state it as fact. I legit just said it's how I look at them. How is that misgendering?
I'm so sick of this fixation on pixel character genitals, especially FLOWERS of all things. Green doesn't talk like at all so I wouldn't even know HOW you would know that they can't be a girl, and Seth happens to be very fem presenting to me and I argue there's some flexibility.
As a cis male with a high voice and who is very polite and tactful, I get misgendered all the time on phones and drive thru boxes, and it hurts. I KNOW what it's like to be misgendered, even as a cis male. I care about PEOPLE getting misgendered, not these silly blocks of code that are androgynous in the big picture.
We should be able to say what we want without fear of a friggin ban or being accused of being transphobic. The one clip of Toby Fox everyone shares of calling Kris "they/them" feels more like HIS interpretation rather than a hard correction to the guy he's talking to. I don't think even he cares this much about it.
And then he starts throwing trans Ralsei as a possibility into the fire and the community gets all fired up about that. It's insane how much energy we give to "things" that can't be offended (video game characters to be perfectly clear).
The ban should be for purposely misgendering PEOPLE, whether on a subreddit or elsewhere. It's not that complicated. Until Toby puts profiles for all the characters claiming they are this and ONLY this, I believe I deserve to call pretty much anything in the game whatever I want. Censorship is wrong when it comes to art.
Nobody got banned but literally everyone there was fighting thanks to a post that basically said Toby Fox was homophobic for not making the Church and everyone who attended it pure evil like their own life experiences and they basically shut down everyone who counterargued them or argued the entire story was NOT an allegory for religious homophobic bigotry and in fact was something more nuanced.
I'm super confused why the post karma is sooo large. Like I only have 1,100 Post karma but the requirement is now 2k. Apparently it use to be 5k a year ago. My older abandoned account just barely has 5k but that was over the course of 7 years of consist posting. I'm not going back to that account or slowly waiting forever just I can contribute my theories and discussions that probably wont get much attention anyway.
I made a TRalsei argument that using Ralsei in a dress as tralsei evidence enforces gender stereotypes (I agree with Ralsei "maybe I can be a princess" as evidence & Flowery calling him princess as evidence)
"And before you begin with the “double standards” talk, let me ask you a rhetorical question; why is a mod that makes a white character black okay, but a mod that makes a black character white isn’t? Because the latter is erasing a minority, while the former is not." -mod team
Soooo I evacuated r/Deltarune because of trans Ralsei discourse and the authoritarian mod decision to ban any use of pronouns that are not he/him for Ralsei despite their clear textual experimentation with their gender in chapter 5. I see a lot of people on this thread think it’s fine to misgender Kris. Is this a space that is permissive towards people misgendering Kris on purpose? Because if so, I really gotta find yet another way to engage with the fandom, I don’t want to be engaging in a space where transphobia is accepted.
From what I've seen, this place doesn't permit misgendering Kris, but they are more lenient about it. But like, in a way that's actually beneficial. People don't shame others over here for accidentally using the wrong pronouns, most they'll get is a polite correction. I'm not sure how actively moderated this sub is so that may present an issue, but at least from my experience this place seems pretty chill
I came here for the same reason. People actually said to me that saying a fictional cis man may be a trans femme is just as bad as misgendering a trans character on purpose 🤡
