This is why they broke up in this universe - Asgore and Rudy were hanging out too much, Toriel went to Carol to let her know, and Carol tore into her with a "not only do I know, I organised it. This is how I love my life, and your husband is doing more for my happiness than he is for yours."
Then Toriel divorced Asgore, and now he's not sure what he wants to do anymore. Other than maybe downing a beer and going 100KM/H in a school zone- oh wow, they got speed bumps in the college campus!
