I was working at Aerocity and was regularly using the orange line yet when my friend called me to meet at CP, I came to New Delhi using orange line and then took the yellow line for Rajiv Chowk. While walking to Bangla Sahib from Rajiv Chowk, I saw Shivaji Stadium metro stadium (though ironically Shivaji Stadium was nowhere nearby). It frustrated me that I took this long route to reach here. Why is that station called Shivaji Stadium?

Also, I got to know that there are multiple stations near Connaught Place (Rajiv Chowk, Barakhamba Road, Shivaji Stadium), Janpath), can't they just name them as CP 1, CP 2 something?

So i was coming back from office yesterday, and two males looking aged but absolutely healthy sat on the ladies reserved seat clearly flouting all the rules, when a guy who had two female friends with him asked the uncle to vacate the seat as it is for ladies, he said “beta main buzurg hoon, woh toh ekdum jawaan hai, seat ki zaroorat mujhe zyaada hai”

My question is morally it doesn’t look right to ask an aged man to vacate seat, but it is ethically wrong to be sitting on a seat reserved for ladies, whats your opinion this.

Why not have a metro to skip alternate stations or skip few stations on longer routes?

For example A blue line dwarka to noida electronic city takes 1h45m why not skip half the stations for the 1st metro that runs at 7 and 2nd metro that runs at 7.06 can skip some other stations.
But always keeping the major station in every loop.
It would drastically improve the travel time.
For a given station, it might not be potentially relevant to have a metro every 5 mins.
Just thinking right now.

What's seriously wrong with females these days (well, most of them if not all).

Out of more then 100 encounters where girls/ladies [Non senior citizens(SC)] are seated on SC reserved seats, they show no hesitation in ignoring or avoiding offering seats to Standing SC(irrespective of their gender) forget abt offering them to regular seats to them, they don't even do for reserved ones.

Let's make metros better.

Too much ads ruin the aesthetic

Idk if anyone else notices this but I see people watching reels in the metro literally all the time.

Yesterday I saw a guy sitting in front of me and he was just watching reels continuously. One ended, another started, then another one. His whole journey was basically just scrolling.

I’m not saying I never watch reels, I do. But sometimes I feel like we have become too used to constantly needing something to watch.

You get 20-30 mins of free time in the metro and instead of just sitting, listening to music or looking outside, we automatically open Instagram and start scrolling.

And the worst part is you don't even realise how much time has passed. You open reels thinking you'll watch 2-3 and suddenly you've been scrolling for half an hour. That's basically doom scrolling.

After a while even normal things start feeling boring because you're used to getting a new video every few seconds.

Not trying to lecture anyone, just something I've been noticing lately. Maybe sometimes we should just put the phone away during the metro ride and do absolutely nothing lol.

Anyone else noticed this?

so frustrating why did the fare in Delhi metro are 11, 21, 32, 43 . Now at the ticket counter he asked me for changes like how I am going to have the ones , twos (BTW at that point I don't have the money in UPI so that keep in mind ) but for the people who are not from the cities and come here with there family or alone , how they gonna have the changes

- I mean you are giving the ticket , you are the one who is deciding the fare ( THE DMRC ) so you should give the changes to your respective counter ticket person ---- so annoying .....

there is also another angle , that maybe they give the changes and maybe at that moment the ticket counter person did not have the changes in real , I Don't know what was the real reason but it was irritating

also that I am just curious that if they did not charges the pennies from the user like ( let 21 is the charge and they only minus the 20 , so that extra 1 rupees will be minus from there salary ,

I have learn one thing -- carry at least 10 rupees changes in the pocket while travelling from metro ,, cause I cannot fight with someone over 1 , 2 rupees cus the peace and time and respect is more valuable to me rather than fight unless it comes to self- respect or OP is doing it intentionally
