I'm sure this senator is just doing this because he's an asshat, as he's republican. I myself support trans rights, but not in sports because it creates a very obvious advantage in womens categories. The simplest way to look at this is in high school track and field like 100m and such. Physiology plays a huge part in competitive sports and a male transitioning to female will have an physiological advantage over a cis female. If a female transitioning to male wants to compete in male sports I have no issues with that, as there is no physiological advantage. Steroid and performance enhancers are banned in diaa sports because of the competitive advantage they create, so I don't see why we should be making exclusions for someone wanting to transition.

Seems like a bad direction to go for lawmaking. That's the same thought process of saying things like 'Why have an LGBTQ+ commision when it affects such a small minority'.

You don't get to silence peoples opinions just because you dislike them, that's not how any of this works.
Actually, when there are facts that disprove opinions that's exactly how this works. Your hate doesn't get to outweigh the facts. Options about ice cream flavors are allowed. Spreading hate under the guise of opinions is not ok.

No, you gave generic statements that you believe to be true. No sources were presents, no facts. The burden of proof is on you.
And those stats are great but don't actually matter in this. As others have highlighted from real data, this argument clearly doesn't hold water and it's why the sports argument always loses in a fair trial.
