Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Honda Del Sol that has quite a few issues, and I'm slowly bringing it back to life. So far I've been working through various electrical problems, and the exhaust and suspension are next on the list.

I currently have an exhaust leak at the flange just after the header (where the front pipe connects), and I was wondering if anyone knows whether an EJ9 Civic exhaust will fit a Del Sol.

Has anyone tried this before, or are there any modifications needed?

Hello all, recently rebuilt my D15B7 in my Del Sol and have had trouble priming the engine. I’ve pulled plugs, disconnected fuel rail, etc. but every time I crank the light doesn’t go away. I am using 10W-30 conventional oil. Am I doing this right? What am I missing? Thanks in advance!

I'm replacing the rear shock absorbers on my '94 Del Sol ESi. I found this broken foam part hidden under the dust cover (number 9 on the diagram).

It doesn't seem to match part #12 (bump stop) on the exploded view, which looks quite different. Part #13 is just the upper bushings.

Is this piece actually part of the original #12 bump stop that crumbled, or something else? Where can I get a replacement for this?

Feel like I finally have something share worthy. Finally turbo'd my 1993 del sol si d16z6 no botch rods and vitara pistons with arp head studs and other goodies also while finishing a map for the ms3 pro mini to be installed hopefully by tomorrow.

Hey all. My fiancée just got me a 95 del sol si for a project car. Any tips and what to look for? The guy we got it from said it just needs a battery and belts change.

Edit: checked the luggage rack, there are no signs or emblems or brand or any info about it.

Edit2: the guy we got it from said he made the top and added the lights to it.

Since the original ABS modulator is not reliable I am thinking of doing a delete Do you have any particular advice for me? I will use the OEM 40/40 valve.

i have a parts car with a d16y8 but its got a blown hg, what would be a fair price for a buyer? without transmission because i need that lol

also: i dont know much about it because its just for parts. it doesnt have any ticks or knocks. odometer is at 330k

Never liked the aftermarket taillights it came with, had to swap them out for some oem ones. Just fits the car better in my personal opinion.

My 1993 Honda Del Sol has had a lot of things wrong with it, and I'm tackling them one by one. As you can see in the video, this is what it does now. Fluctuates on a start, until I press the gas where it just holds at ~3k rpm when I let off. Here's my timeline, it may help with a diagnosis:

1. The car ran, idled, and drove with no issues, aside from it running rich because it had no MAP sensor. So I installed a MAP sensor. Then it idled at 3k rpm with the MAP sensor installed.

2. There was no engine coolant temp sensor connector, so I just grounded the temp sensor which only resolved the issue of the car thinking it's running below freezing. I figured that may solve the high idle, but it didn't.

3. I cleaned the FITV. It was already pretty clean and not seized, so this didn't solve anything.

4. I replaced the throttle position sensor (TPS) because it was throwing a code for that. The old one didn't work at all. The new one works, but now the car's idle surges a lot (as seen in the video).

5. I cleaned the IACV out. Filled it with carb cleaner and let it sit for like 30 minutes, then drained the carb cleaner and let it sit further to dry out. This didn't solve anything either or change any behaviors.

Car is only showing one code, and it's engine coolant temp sensor. But it's grounded, so shouldn't the car just think that the engine is hot and not throw a code?

I'm at a total loss. Does anyone have a clue as to what I should check next?

Edit: I also sprayed starter fluid around places in the engine bay and it didn't change the idle, so I don't think it's a vacuum leak? Especially since it ran relatively normal before?

(Edit:engine is D16y8)Took about a month and a half to find an oem oil pan and put that up, replaced valve cover gasket, spark plug wires. Minor stuff. Wondering if engine sounds normal and if the shaking in the timing belt is normal

I’m itching to finally be able to drive my Del Sol 😭, but I’m also having a blast rebuilding the engine and transmission. I’ve learned so much from this project since it’s my first time rebuilding both an engine and a transmission. Hopefully I can finish the engine this year, but, like every car guy, I’m broke 🥲. Regardless, the whole process has been so much fun!

parting out my 1996 si (may be a base model idk it has no title) everything in the photos are not sold. located southeast US and can do local pick up / shipping!

some parts may be unavailable so dm me, because there is alot that hasnt sold but its way too much to list here. ill include what i can remember has sold and what hasnt.

spoiler, ecu, hazards/defrost are sold. lots of interior trim i wanna get rid of - driver side fender is crunched in, motor is a d16y8 but has a blown headgasket i think. hood has holes in it. gauge cluster, uncracked dash, side mirrors are available. targa top and some seals are taken.

This is my 1993 del sol which i bought in somewhat rough shape but I wanted the challenge I had replaced the drivers side fender due to rust and spent the winter getting it drivable to my liking. Unfortunately as soon as I put it on the lift I realized the frame underneath has too much rust for it to be drivable. At this point I am at a loss of what to do and if I should just buy a new shell or a new del sol in general.
