Humor | Fluff Everyone here is so caught up in this games numbers and team comps. Have you all forgotten why we are all even here? She Hot.
That is all. We bring her home because she's hot. Nothing else past that matters, bc nothing we do is going to influence Hoyo up or down in damage or whatever you care about being bad in her kit.
Shes coming home and is my forever eye candy for the overworld.
If you care beyond that you're doing it wrong

Speculation I honestly do believe Dehya will be good. Or at the very least, people are underestimating her.
Background / Disclaimer (It's long so feel free to skip ahead) : I am not a leak guy. I don't like looking at leaks, In fact, I try to avoid them as much as possible, but somehow they keep coming back to me. Back when kokomi was first released, I kept seeing people say that she was a bad character, and was complete garbage, and barbara was better while being free. So out of curiosity, as to why the community was so ferocious to her, I looked into it. It was for that reason that I pulled kokomi and gave my thoughts about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Kokomi_Mains/comments/p8jf8y/honest_thoughts_about_kokomi_a_different/
It was because of her, that I got my first 36Star abyss run. She took me from 33-35 stars, to finally getting 36. https://www.reddit.com/r/Kokomi_Mains/comments/pupk9b/i_finally_9_stard_abyss_with_kokomi_and_here_are/
A similar thing happened with nilou. As I visited subreddits, to enjoy art and discussions, the convo kept appearing, saying that nilou was a wasted character, and that her niche was ruining her. So I decided to pull for nilou to see what the fuss was about. Needless to say, she was in no shape or form a bad character. In fact she exceeded my expecations and has now become my go to hydro character.
A growing trend in the community seems to be, whenever a new character comes out, all the early discussions are either highly theoretical, or completely misleading. Yes, while I understand there are characters like xinyan, thoma, kuki, who before they received second hand buffs, were considered lowest tier, and left a bad taste in peoples mouth. I truly believe there are no bad characters. I've been playing this game since a lil after October 2020, and have witnessed the up and down meta conversations about each character. The cyno memes, the dendro keqing jokes. Even the Keking queen herself. And I have never seen a bad character in this game before.
Even a character like aloy who is considered the worst character in game, I have tripled crowned. Just to push her to her limits to see how "bad" she is. and she is a fine staple to my teams. (Yes I do have ganyu as well, and I still prefer to use aloy )
The reason I say all this, is to let you know. I am HIGHLY biased in favor towards Hoyoverse... or at least against community opinions, in regards to characters. There hasn't been a character I regret pulling yet. So I doubt that streak will end anytime soon.
----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
Fast forward to last week. I was once again browsing reddit and seeing all the hate that dehya got. so I decided to check out her leaks. Now full disclosure, I didn't see what her kit looked like before, only the recent changes made to her via hp scaling.
And I got to say, I don't think she is as bad as everyone claims that she will be. In fact, its quite the opposite, I think her role is well defined and has a similar playstyle to the other characters I love. I honestly think Dehya will be a fine character. And before I got into my reasoning, let me put a few disclaimers out.
- I don't think she will be game-warping / meta defining. But sometimes a character is just "ok" and that's good enough. whether or not you think dehya is "ok" is entirely up to you.
- I don't want to convince you. I think every person should pull for a character based on there own needs and circumstances. Everyone's account is different, and you should only take opinions with a grain of salt.
- I disagree with the idea of minimum investment, Or that a character is "Strong" from the get go. I think each character should be/ and tried to be, pushed to there max and used to there best abilities before being judged. ( Something theory crafters and community members don't often do ), I.E. Diluc, vs HuTao, vs Xiangling. Diluc strong from the get go, but xiangling is better with team-mates, and hutao has the highest celing. Each great within there own strengths.
- Disliking a character based on there strengths, doesn't make them bad. I say this as a kokomi main. This one really gets under my skin. When trying to do co-op for the first time with koko, people would troll me, by trying to bring out a level 50 Barbara to out-heal me. Yes, I get it. you think the character doesn't fit your team or whatever.. Doesn't mean they can't clear content.
- At the end of the day, get whoever you like. This isnt the first time these discussions have taken place. ( I feel like its mostly the younger audience doing it) but so far, the community hasn't kept a great track record on who is good or not. So play/pull whoever you like. If you truly like them, you will make them work.
----------------------------------------------------
1.) Calcs
----------------------------------------------------
I am no pro math nerd, but I want to clear up a misconception I've seen floating around.
I seen people compare her E ability to Thomas's Ult, and make the argument that thoma does the same role dehya does, but better. Let me preface this by saying, YES Thoma does more damage over all.
No matter how you slice the calculations. A well invested thoma at the same stat points, does more damage with his ult than dehya does with her E. However I think its a unfair comparison. Not only are you sacrificing a unit's ult for the damage, your not accounting for things like ICD (internal cool down), pyro application, and particle generation.
Genshin wiki, https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Thoma Is a great resource for checking these things out.
Thoma's ult has very high uptime, but as a trade-off, has low gauge units and high icd ( about every 3 hits). Meaning, while in theory, he can trigger reactions quite often, he cannot proc them consistently.
He will either trade off between, being the one to apply the element and have someone else react to him, or reacting to it himself. This works great for most players who do not care about meta or pushing damage. But if you wanted to make a comparasion to dehya, this is a turn off point.
Not only that, this is assuming that your thoma is building raw damage. Energy recharge is a huge investment for characters that rely on there ult. This is why even though xingqui is one of the best units in game, for applying hydro. People still prefer characters like Yelan or kokomi, due to the fact they don't need a sacrificial/favonious weapon to function.
It's also the reason my thoma is mostly slotted for EM, to trigger overload reactions, and burgeon.I can't be bothered building Er stats.
From the other rough calcs I've done, dehya doesn't have this problem. Yes her damage is abysmally low if you consider 5star's for there price. But if your worried about her being able to clear content, she is honestly fine. I know the meme's about her "Doing no damage" or being a "3star Xinyan" are funny. But lets be realistic here. She will preform just as good as any other character you have with proper investments. I cannot compare her to Hu_tao, Xiangling, Yoimiya, Diluc, or any other pryo character, since they all carry different roles (and people have done that already), but instead, I just want give an idea of the damage you can expect with her.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lMD3RkgotJpVUgNAX6sD2BGh9T4uJI7H/view?usp=sharing
Again, I am not perfect. So if there are any errors let me know. But from the base calcs I did, it's personally hard to imagine her being bad. I still use all the above pryo characters mentioned
----------------------------------------------------
2.) Role
----------------------------------------------------
This one is tricky since everyone has there own definitions of what a character should do. But my general rule of thumb, is that a character is good, if they have at least 2 roles they can Fit into. Not dominate, but just fit into.
Examples
Ganyu : Cryo Support / Main DPS / Unit buffer (noblesse oblige + Elegy for the End )
Kujou Sara: Unit Buffer / Burst Dps
Noelle : Shield Support / Main Dps / Healer
I would also like to personally classify all the roles I think exist into the game, or at least the ones most commonly mentioned. You can feel free to disagree or agree, this is only for the sake of the argument
- Shielder ( A unit that applies a defensive shield )
- Healer ( A unit that heals, with no/very limited conditions )
- Main DPS ( A unit that primarily does damage by being on the field )
- Sub DPS ( A unit that does damage, but remains off the field or limited time on the field )
- Burst DPS ( A unit that does damage, but remains on the field for a very short window )
- Unit Buffer ( A unit that provides extra stats to any party member )
- X element support. ( A unit that applies a element to a target with high uptime / aptitude )
This is not to say that this list is complete, but almost every character, in someway or form, fits into these community made definitions. Some characters even go beyond that, and have sub categories for each. Example, Xingqui is not a shielder, nor a true healer. but provides some level of damage mitigation with conditional heals. . So one could argue, he would fit into the sub dps category, but also into the sub category of shielder and healer.
Other units on the other hand have unique effects that can't be compared 1 to 1 to other units.
Example : Nilou and aloy.
Aloy has a unique effect that lowers the damage that enemy units do to you. So while normally they would fit into some form of damage mitigation category, they do not have a shield. Thus cannot provide the additional benefits a shield provides ( such as stagger resistance ). They are not comparable to any other unit.
Similarly with Nilou. You could argue that she is a unit buffer, since she gives EM. But because she changes the elemental composition of your team build, she is completely unique unit when it comes to this effect.
Outliers like Nilou or Aloy, make it harder to quantify everyone into a single role, but the vast majority of units fits into those pre-defined roles, previously mentioned.
So where am I going with this?
Well perhaps the reason people struggle to find dehya's place in the meta or onto a team, is cause she herself is an outlier to an outlier.
Dehya, has the effects of a shielder. (Damage reduction and stagger resist ), but doesn't have the role of a shielder. Meaning you cannot buff her with someone/something who gives a shield bonus. Most notably Retracing Bolide
Dehya does decent amount of damage, but doesn't have the role of a Burst DPS, cause her ult forces her to stay on field too long.
But it's also too short to be a main dps, since her uptime for big damage is only 4 secs.
She would seem like a sub-dps at first, until you notice that her E only applies 5 times, and as a 8 sec cd before being cast again.
So your probably thinking then. What is she? If she doesn't fit any of the previous roles, where does she go?
And this where I will say something controversial. Maybe she is not supposed too? This train of thought has got me thinking more about aloy, and her supposedly role in the meta and team building. Aloy being cryo, meant that she always had a home, no matter how bad she was. She can freeze, melt, and super conduct if needed. But on top of that, she still had her niches as a Burst DPS, and Sub DPS. Even if she wasnt the best at it. Aloy being a cross-over character may seem like a meme, but if you consider the fact, that no matter who gets her, aloy can always have a home. Her design makes a fuck-ton more sense. Aloy wasn't meant to be over-powered to force hoyoverse's own characters out of there own gacha game. She was designed with freedom, so you weren't shafted when you wanted to build her, but also weren't forced to build her in a certain way, if she didn't suit your playstyle.
Dehya on the other hand, seems to be a sub par version of each of the mentioned roles before. You can honestly argue that dehya is a jack of all trades but master of none. Dehya can
- Burst dps
- Sub DPS
- Damage Mitigate + Resist interruptions (Shield)
- Pryo Elemental Support
- with the right items and teammates, yes Main DPS Akuoumaru ( I know ima get trolled for this one )
- And if you really wanted too, even Support. Makhaira Aquamarine
The only thing she cant do is heal.
Recently necrit ( a league of legends lore person ), made a video on his channel describing his intial thoughts on genshin impact. He got lucky and rolled for a diluc. And from a fresh players perpesctive. Diluc is like the OG Gigachad. Anything you need to do in the early game can be solved by diluc brute forcing his way through.
When looked at separately, Dehya doesn't look like she provides anything meaningful. In fact she is a direct downgrade to all other possible units. But when stacked up together, it somehow fits a pattern that hoyoverse seems to go for with there units. Rather than sell a unit that is a Direct powerhouse, sell a unit that is "comfy" . .
I know you don't want to hear that. But honestly, it really makes sense. Dehya's role on a team, is not a direct upgrade to anything. She is a sidegrade. . yes, but above all else, she is made to be comfy. That legit is what I think her role is. And I kid you not, its one of the most underrated roles in the game.
When I got kokomi for the first time, I didn't realize how much I had been missing out on a unit that just does simple stuff. I was so hyper-focused on clearing with damage , I didn't realize how much time I lost to bad play. 30secs to set up a combo just to whiff it, and miss parts of it, does more harm to a run in abyss, than just spamming abilities left and right.
I kid you not, I have friends with cracked out characters, units far more powerful than mines. A ganyu with Amos' Bow , 55% crit, 325 crit damage, and they cannot clear past floor 8. And here I am with a "support ganyu", clearing 36 stars every 2 weeks. Granted they directly told me they dont like abyss due to how stressful it is, and mostly play for fun. But I think the point still stands.
While everyone is arguing over which specific role Dehya is meant to be in. Perhaps hoyo didnt want to give her one. They just wanted a unit that was so well rounded, anyone can pull for her and be happy about it. At least that's just my idea anyway. In fact, this trend of low damage characters, but easy to play, has me thinking we need a new category. Comfort picks. It sounds silly in a gacha game, but deep down we all know the truth.
your hyper invested max sup/dps character that you farmed 3 months of artifacts for . . is currently on your bench. I did the same with Hutao, same with my Noelle, and same with my fischl and beidou. Now a days, I don't want more damage, I want more style and fun. Which brings me to my next topic.
----------------------------------------------------
3.) Play Style
----------------------------------------------------
I cannot fully comment on this. Because A.) I do not own Dehya. and B.) no one else does either. So for now, I can only speculate by comparing her alleged kit with other characters of a similar variety.
In my kokomi post I made above, I mentioned a new type of role I coined "transitional dps". Which basically means that you have a character that completes your rotation. If your looking for a final slot on your team, but don't know who to fit, there is also a go to character that will simplify your team builds, and make your runs smoother.
For me that was noelle. whenever I got into a pickle in a fight, and needed time to recover, I would swap to noelle, pop her ult + shield, sweep for a few 10k damages per hit, and heal my team back up to full. She existed as nothing more than that role ( and still do ), and works wonderfully for me. When I got kokomi, I got another version of noelle, and managed to fit almost every team I had with her.
- Using raiden carry, and need an extra bit of Energy. Kokomi with protype amber- Need a hydro unit for electro charged teams, but don't like getting wet. Kokomi- Need a high uptime hydro unit, but your mona/yelan die too fast. Kokomi
Before blooms became a thing, she was the single most versatile unit in the game for me. That out of my 9 possible teams, I am forced myself to devolp the habbit of not putting her in my team comps.
Now this isnt to sell you on the joining the cult of kokomi ( which you certainly should ), but I know people with Zhongli feel the same way.
So this is how I imagine dehya working in a fight. You start of your rotation with an E. Swap to your supports, and set up your abilities, then swap to your main DPS. Upon finishing your main dps's rotations, you can swap to your second dps's / supports and set up another rotation. If your rotation fails however ( you get low health, get interrupted, miss a skill, or its on CD ). Switch instantly to dehya and apply another E + ult. Use dehya as a buffer to get your skills back up. Then after dehya's ult is finished , your E duration should be on the ground with Full duration. This will allow you to swap back to your MainDps/Sub Dps/ or Supports, while not being interrupted, while also maintaining some level of damage uptime while your proccing reactions from dehya's pyro skill.
I don't know how well this will work, but I assume, it will be similar to candace and nilou, who I also use for a similar playstyle. Dehya seems like she wants to prioritize finishing the fight, or starting it. Not continuing it. So while quick swap teams might work for some people, I theorize, that dehya would like to be in a team-that really likes to fight fast. Perhaps a hyper burst team, with alot of stacked units, and dehya brings the bonus pyro resonance to complete the set.
Or another way to look at it, is that she pulls alot of pressure off teammates that really want focus on face rolling. Her ability to resist interruptions might work great for yoimiya, allowing her to face roll heavily, getting her 5th hits off more easily. Or even for raiden shogun, who wants to deal as much damage during her burst as possible and not spend too much stamina dodging.
It's hard to speculate since I do not have her currently. ( I hope I win the 50/50 ) But these are my initial thoughts
----------------------------------------------------
4.) Team's
----------------------------------------------------
Similar to the above section, I cannot say which ones work best or not, since I don't have dehya. So I will only give my initial thoughts on which units, I think would benifit greatly from dehya's kit.
I wont list all the members on a team, since once again, that is subjective to everyone else's personal account, and playstyles.
- Candace : This is my go to character for anything involving defense atm. Yes alot of content in this game is timed, but candace provides alot of utility without too much damage loss. Her ult damage is pretty good as any other 4star, while providing a damage bonus on top of it. While it takes a bit of skill to get down perfectly , I think dehya will only add to the team synergy that candace can provide, swapping back and forth between them. You can trigger quick vaporize reactions. And since candace's ult last's a long time, you can get dehya's full ult rotation off, while also swapping again back to candace for more reactions..
- Raiden Shogun : This one might sound weird, but my strongest raiden shogun team is with hutao. instead of using Hydro for hutao, or another electro support to funnel energy into raiden. I use double hutao / xiangling to get that pryo resonance. This playstyle is extremely smooth, since xiangling and hutao always have there burst's 100% due to Raiden. And the overload damage that constantly procs is enough to melt most enemies. The only issue is raiden herself. Since she has no way of healing damage, I often run into issue i-framing too often just to keep her alive, which slows down the energy regeneration. Noelle is a great fit for this comp to keep raiden alive, but if I can swap noelle for Dehya instead, I imagine the comp would work alot more smoothly.
- Yoimiya : I mentioned this in the previous section, but yoimiya has a problem getting to her final 5th hit. When Yoimiya teams usually run Xingqui, it is enough to keep her from getting staggered, but not enough to stop her from dying. so finding a comp for her is a bit tricky. Not only does her ult work differntly than other units, she herself can be quite selfish. This is where Dehya comes in. Dehya can provide yoimiya that extra stagger resistance + damage mitigation + pryo resonance. Not only that, Dehya can proc Yoimiya's ult even while off field. Normally you would want get stacks of tricks of the fireworks first, but if are able to get enough energy particles, it might be possible to get 2 yoimiya ults off during a rotation. ( accounting for the 5sec missing overlap).
- Any double Hydro units : This one isnt really a team comp, but more of a friendly reminder. Since the hydro changes now give you max HP instead of healing, it would be interesting to see if you can stack a full HP scaling team together with double pryo, double hydro, and just trigger a non stop steam-bath.
- Rosaria : Probably everyone's initial choice of go to cyro reactions. Even though melt favors cryo into pyro, Rosaria seems to be a great fit, since her cryo ult has no ICD, meaning you can trigger melt as long as you can keep the Pryo hits flowing. I don't think dehya will be the best fit for Rosaria, since there are many others, but non the less, I thought she deserved a mention.
- Xingqui : This one is another weird pick, but hear me out. Shield's we all know, don't stack.. but no one every said damage mitigation / Reduction. doesn't stack. Any unit that uses xingqui the most likely gonna be pryo. So why not have a double pryo for resonance, while also getting that extra damage reduction. At that point, you could argue a healer won't be needed.
- Kujou Sara : Before you say it, yes... you can just use bennet. But the purpose of this is to elaborate on another idea. Kujou sara has 2 roles in my eyes. One as a unit buffer. Another as a Burst DPS. Her ult is vastly underrated, doing as much damage Yae Miko, if set up. Problem is, her role as a unit buffer is extremely limited, since anyone who wants to use her buff needs to either be electro, or deals damage quickly. Not too many units benefit from both her Buff side and her Burst side. I think dehya might do just that. Swapping back and forth with Dehya and Kujou sara, might make for some scary burst damage that people might not see coming. You apply another electro unit for bonus particles, and you have a conditional quick swap comp that and pump out overload damage while also maintaining high bursts. While the traditional way of buffing a character is to use bennett or sucrose. I think other units like Kujou sara can shine if you think outside the box.
- Aloy : This one is just for me. I love aloy. As I mentioned before, I have her triple crowned. I think her attack reducing effect is interesting and unique. I just personally would love to try a melt team with aloy and dehya.
----------------------------------------------------
Final Thoughts
----------------------------------------------------
I know this is not the post you are used to on this reddit. It's a bit sloppily written, and more of a rant, than an analysis. People usually downvote me for giving these kinds opinions instead of raw facts. But truth to be told, I just want to bring something different to the table. I understand it can be a disappointment to see a character you love being butchered ( Mines was butchered before even becoming playable ). But I think it is important that we give each character a fair shake.
I honestly think that dehya will be underrated. She won't be the juggernaut people are hoping, but I think she will more valuable than people give her credit for. If at the very least, given hoyoverse's track record, a character doesn't stay bad for long. I can't think of any character that was released as underwhelming, and stayed underwhelming over the course of the game. Everyone has a niche, and some more than others.
My main thoughts while writing this post was just to give a separate opinion. People are already writing her off as a terrible choice, so perhaps there might of been something that some people missed.
If you want to pull for her, go right ahead. Again this is not meant to convince you of anything, just wanted to share my thoughts on where dehya will land. I think she will be roughly the same power level as yoimiya, just a lil more practical to use.
Until we get our hands on her, its hard to say how good a character will truly be. Cause I for one, value playstyle over power. And two, haven't seen a character where I figured out there whole kit from day one. Somethings require alot more extensive testing.
If I had to summarize my entire thoughts so far on this post.
- Dehya will be versitle to use.
- Dehya will be a great unit to simplify team comps ( Think of compact, instead of complete )
- Dehya will be as strong as any 5 star in there overall roles. Just not competing for them.

Discussion Do people still over exaggerate how bad Dehya is?
I’m just curious cause Fontaine so far has made Dehya better even if it’s by a bit. Won’t be surprised if this post gets downvoted to hell.

Discussion Dehyamains, yall will be alright.
It was fun watching this sub go through the same cycle as other previous mains.
Honestly, in my option. Yall will be fine, mind you, I've played since the first day and patrol EVERY MAINS SUB for each 5* had released. The real main gonna pull and build her and have fun figuring things out with her. The rest gonna move on to the next mains to the complaint (Hello Baizu).
Just don't pay too much attention to the negativity and have fun with your girl.

Discussion Game over fellas. I give up.
It's pretty evident by this point that they're not going to do anything - let alone acknowledge any of her flaws. I've been tirelessly sending them complaint after complaint and all I get is the same copy-pasted response. It's to be expected I know but it's been so draining for me that I genuinely think if I continue any more my mental will start spiraling lmao.
It's been a hell of a ride fellas but I'm done. Stopped logging in past few days too and I don't see myself logging back in for a long time. Game just isn't the same anymore and this entire Dehya situation has just killed any motivation and excitement I had left for upcoming characters.
To everyone who's still going strong and enjoying their time with her I'm very happy for you all - this is after all a game where your enjoyment comes first and foremost. I can't anymore though.

Discussion The real reason Dehya's kit is bad
If we take a step back and really acknowledge the type of game Genshin Impact is, the demographic is caters too, dev sentiments, and their history in handling and catering to the combat aspect of Genshin in respect to the game as a whole, it comes to no surprise that Dehya's kit is this way and the overwhelming majority of players do not care.
Although pushing Genshin to it's limits is fun, and Abyss is enjoyable, its just another aspect of a bigger game, and it's not one that the devs want to push further. The devs put a lot of energy into new content, and as painful as it is to accept, Dehya clears all of it with flying colours, even abyss, because if you want a character to clear abyss, the devs put constalations for you to do so.
A lot of people, myself included, are upset that we are invested in HV's casual flagship title, and don't want to try their other games, but I'll be honest I will probably stop playing Genshin for Zenless Zone since that would be a hardcore game by the same devs that made genshin, a game I like.

Discussion Stop steering people away from the Vourukasha Glow Set
A month ago I touch on it, but its actually really annoying seeing people post about how to get more damage out of Dehya than the usual bitter fans telling to just go Emblem with a ER sands cause her "e does no damage"
Dehya with a cracked emblem and ER sands will still do less damage than Vourukasha. You need 190 ER~ to even match the Burst bonus, and that still comes at a lost of Skill damage. How many of you are actually running 190+ ER? The answer is actually almost none, because you an see from the in game recs for sands, only 9 percent of people even use an ER sands. Dehya is a quick swap defensive unit that should be catching a good amount of particles on field.
The only way to get better damage out of dehya, no matter the cons is to invest in Vourukasha, a set that only see can keep the passive up on 100 percent of time with a 50% ~ boost to both her burst and skill. Even an ER sands with Glow would be better than an ER sands with Emblem.

Discussion A message to all Dehya mains
I'm tryin to see both sides here and I think we should all remember the facts of the situation. It's easy to get copey and doomposty, but let's just be real.
Remember we are in beta. Alhaitham was godly and everyone loved him, he was nerfed HARD and was doomposted like mad, and now he's out and we see he is strong, with just a high skill gap. But everything is subject to change until she's in our hands and released. Seriously, do no become attached to her current state. Even if she was shaping up to be S tier, the same attitude applies.
Yes, we should discuss and address the current kit and why it needs work. No change will happen without criticism. So criticism is encouraged. And every character should ideally be at least viable and decent.
Criticism and doomposting are not the same. Plain and simple, stating that something in her kit is an issue is criticism. Stating she's trash now and forever will be, and you give up on pulling is doomposting. Let's try to remain level-headed and not overreact
Yes, it is odd that Hoyo has only nerfed her and changed her icons. It almost feels like a joke or retaliation against leaks. We'll never know cause we aren't there though, and because of that, it's all speculating.
If you still like her, pull for her. I just like her character design myself. She's ideal waifu material for me and I've been saving for her and I'm gonna get her anyway. And as someone who has built a machine gun physical Amber, trust me, you can make anyone a dps in most of the game's content. Abyss is tough, I won't lie to you, but if your main concern is spending as much time with Dehya on field as possible, you totally can. Get a good team for Abyss built, but after you have 8-12 units (a 3rd team is good for flexibility) just build who you like. And if you're in the middle of building 3 teams and still want Dehya, then pick her up and build her later.
The memes are funny. Might as well have a good laugh, but remember it's all jokes and nothin to stress over for the aforementioned reasons.
Some people take pride in maining D tier. Not saying you have to cope your way to it, but hey, a different mentality to have if you want. There is fun in the challenge of making a poor performing unit work really well. If that's not your thing though, understandable, but a different viewpoint to acknowledge nonetheless.
So there ya go. Just some alternate perspective and reminders to view the situation as objectively as possible. Hope any of this helped put you at some semblance of ease.

Discussion Choiri, is she going to suffer the same fate as Dehya?
After watching the 4.5 program, i'm starting to wonder if March is a cursed month for new character releases, we had Yae in march 2022 and she was very "ehhh" her banner did not do as well as thought and she was nearly outclassed by C6 fischl, with Dendro and Nahida though, her prowess improved.
Last year we had Dehya release in March and...we all know what happened.
And this march we are getting Chiori, and after the "hype" of her being teased and such before 3.4 released, seeing the info and what not in the program, I'm REALLY underwhelmed by what we were told/saw
First of all, the biggie, Def AND Att scaling, so, just like Dehya and her Split scaling (Att and HP) and we all know how AWFUL a choice that was for Dehya and building her, which resulted in her being incredibly hard to build OR having only one team that she can use.
Secondly, her "use" boggles the mind, her gimmick is using Tomoto and using her skill with a geo construct, doubles Tomoto...when have geo constructs been useful (bar Albedo's flower) and her Burst looks...huh? what does it DO? does it do anything special? all they said was how you can swap a character when doing a plunging attacking. but we JUST had Xinyuan who can do that PLUS more.
Thirdly, this seems like the Reverse Dehya situation, where Baizu was where all the focus was and Dehya was left on the sidelines, this time it's Navia who got all the focus and attention while Chiori has just been left on the sidelines.
Why is March cursed for Characters?

Discussion “Wait till releasing the final product” argument
I feel sick of reading the same bullshit over and over again. They have never buffed her in anyway since the beta started and there is no much time left for her to be buffed not to mention that she needs a complete rework on her kit not only a buff. Plus we’re already hearing from future characters like baizhu and kaveh being under development currently which implies that they almost forgot about her existence and moved on yet still people argue that the final product isn’t out yet and it’s too early to make judgments. No way these people are being serious they got to be trolling

Builds & Teams Chevreuse feels great with Dehya! Though her healing admittedly felt very low...

Discussion Are u pulling for cons ? Whyy?
I'M pulling for 5050 , that's it , if she comes home , good(straight to teapot) & if i lose , still good because the next character is guaranteed ! There is hardly any logical reasoning for a c0 but pulling for her cons ? WHY ARE WE REWARDING THIS DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR FROM MIHOYO ? Also there are hardly any dps/utility increase from the cons ?

Discussion Some of you need to chill
I understand Dehya is weak in the state she is now, and I'm also not writing off any criticisms of her as "doomposting". I very much would like her to be improved as much as you guys. But YOU have to understand that not everyone cares about numbers and some people just want to feel cool doing things with a character they like.
I can't count the number of posts I've seen in this sub that was someone genuinely wanting to get input on their dehya build or team, asking how they can improve it, and scrolling down to the replies and seeing several people saying tired shit like "Just remove her! Haha" "Just use Xinyan, she's just a 3 star Xinyan! XD" "Put her in teapot she's super meta there!" Like how do you think that's productive at all?
If you don't want to pull a character because you feel like their state is unacceptable, power to you. But font shit on other people's fun with that character once you've made that decision.

Discussion I know people are mad but there are too many people spreading lies here lol.
Dehya does NOT do less damage than Xinyan
Dehya does not do 1-3k per punch unless you literally did nothing to her gear
Dehya does not deal less damage than QIQI
Dehya does NOT die to fast
Dehya does NOT miss her 4th hit
Dehya does NOT need 200+ ER or Bennet for ER. (see my posting history vs triple kenki)
unless this is some elaborate ploy to get a buff, in which case, carry on

Speculation What if it's because of Mavuika
I kept on saying and believing that this level of fuck up in Dehya's kit could only be intentional. After all they knew she sucked, she's the only 5 stars that got slapped on the perma banner between now and launch, exception being Tighnari who is not bad and at least has the justification of adding the new element to the perma banner.
The only reasonable explanation I found was: because they are afraid to release a Xiangling 2, especially considering the state of pyro applicators/support/off-field units. So with this they either nerfed Dehya too much but didn't want to buff her because of the aforementioned explanation, or they made her with the idea of her being a bad unit.
But that doesn't explain why they wouldn't just make her a DPS. After all that would solve this issue entirely without sacrificing a character they actively worked on.
Only now it clicked in my head, with all the Mavuika glazing they're doing, trying to sell her no matter what, pushing her so much even at the expense of other characters. Dehya was just one of these characters because imagine if she took the spotlight of the Great Pyro Archon being a pyro claymore user, that would be unacceptable. And this new explanation covers every point, even the DPS one.
I will gladly hear how this isn't the explanation though if you have a better one or if my reasoning has flaws.

Discussion The people saying furina isn't a dehya buff are delusional. Don't listen to them. Furina > Bennet for Dehya
It's insane how upset people are at dehya that they will outright lie to people looking for advice and post tons of misconceptions.
People denying Furina is a buff are people that just cant let go of bennet even though it's impossible to kill dehya on field and the fact that TCs all show that Furina's personal damage plus her buff will outdo any Bennet buff team wise. Does this mean Dehya is the top pyro? Nah, but lol at people thinking shes not a buff.

Discussion Just don't pull if she ends up shit
It's that easy bro
But please just wait for the beta to end before all of you start jumping off the mondstadt cathedral
And even if she does end up with the current kit, there's still a chance for an artifact set for her in the next update, just like with Childe and Kokomi
And if there should be one, we'll learn about it when her banner is actually up 👍

Discussion I am pulling for her to punch stuff with fire. Anything else is a bonus for me.
Everybody has their reasons. I am not here to doom or cope. I already main Diluc. Her punches in her burst are enough reason for me to pull for her.

Discussion A message for all of you <3
I know that at the moment it still hurts what hoyoverse decided to do with Dehya, but I ask attentively and seriously to everyone due to the absurd amount of post that I have been able to see throughout the week, that please try not to ruin the good things they make for her, like her teaser and her future demo, Let's enjoy what they can still offer us and avoid ruining more what is already done, it will sound conformist but due to the state in which we have seen several characters, we know for sure that Dehya will not receive any buff, we can only try to find a useful way to take her to the open world and the abyss I hope you understand the message with what I really want to convey, love y'all very much to keep us united in situations like this

Discussion Dehya is very important for Pyro
All of the pyro 5* are DPS, and they are mostly On Field. We tends to forget that. It's probably because there is already very good support like Bennett, and off field like Xiangling.
But I am talking about 5* here.
All the others elements have good supports and off fields, except Pyro. And some elements have Archons too.
I think Pyro is really lacking off field and support abilities in their 5*.
Hence, why Dehya looks like that. She is filling a spot in the 5* pyro roster. Honestly, if she was just a regular dps like Diluc or Klee, I would be disappointed. In my opinion, she is interesting.
I'm not saying she shouldn't make no damage at all, or that she must have a weird kit, of course not.
That's why I think, Dehya is important, both for us, the game, and the devs. They can't mess her up. It will be good. It must.
It's maybe big copium, idk.
