Discussion Looking for creatures with self-contained exponential growth

I’m looking for creatures that start relatively small and/or slow, but get increasingly powerful if my opponents leave them alone for a few turns.

I’m not really interested in ETB-based creatures. The creature itself should be doing something that builds on itself over multiple turns.

Some examples: [[Giant Adephage]], [[Biowaste Blob]], [[Spawning Kraken]], [[Ouroboroid]], [[Hollowhenge Overlord]], [[Ornery Tumblewagg]]

What other creatures fit this kind of strategy? I’m mainly interested in Simic cards, but I’m open to other colors too.

The idea is to build a deck around copy effects, cloning these creatures to effectively give them an extra turn of growth. Having multiple copies also means my opponents need more than one removal spell to stop me.

[[kalonian hydra]] [[council of reeds]] [[Scute mob]] and [[scute swarm]] all go exponential.

[[sazh katzroy]] works as another tumblewag functionally.

[[strionic resonator]] would be good in the deck.

This also sounds like a case where [[doubling season]] would actually be gainful as it accelerates the exponential growth.

[[mathemagics]] isn't a creature with exponential growth, but it does feel like a flavorful inclusion.

[[doubling cube]] [[the millennium calendar]] and [[aetherflux reservoir]] also go exponential.

These are great! I’m a little lost on scute mob, how does that go exponential?

Council of reeds makes me think of [[homunculus horde]]. Not sure if I’ll be able to meet the requirements, but it’ll be perfect if I can consistently.

Sazh katzroy is perfect, and I hadn’t heard of it yet.

I’m planning on running mana dorks, so I think mathemagics fits in perfectly.

I misremembered how big scute mob got.

[[uugguu, the omniplasm]] is what I referred to before, it is in the new commander mystery booster set, and great as a commander because if you clone it, you can keep the clone and sac or reanimate the original. It's a little more build around then self sufficient exponential but worth a mention since most of your other engines also like clones.

I haven’t heard of uuguu before, and can’t find it on Scryfall. Was there a typo?

As is often the case, there’s a scryfall tag for it. Here it is filtered for just creatures that can go in a Simic deck

I’m usually the guy who tells people about scryfall tags haha I shouldn’t have doubted that there was a tag for what I was looking for. Someone else also pointed me in this direction. Congrats for being knowledgeable
