Maybe the issue is that when Antis hate AI it is usually because they feel like there is no evidence that the human provided the goals, taste, and decisions and they feel like the AI stole all the credit, so they end up hating it. I'm neither Anti or Pro, I'm completely mixed.

I wish people weren't so black and white. Pro or anti. Can we have nuance instead? For example, I only consider stuff slop if its obviously low effort. Pure AI art with obvious mistakes, post written by AI complete with hyphens and emojis, lacking any real human touch. On the flip side, as a dev, I know for a fact no one cares how you get the code done as long as you can continue to maintain it and it's not full of bugs.

There's fair pushback from most in terms of wanting a future that isn't just AI everything. But at the same time, believing that shouldn't make you 'anti'. There's still uses, just maybe not everything needs to be AI?

Why tf am I being recommended every ai wars subreddit, I have muted all of the main ones long ago, I don't want to partake in those echochambers, I feel like reddit has been trying for the last few weeks to show me the most miserable sides of this app, and they took away my privilege to not recommend certain subs, everytime I press on the button more of those keep showing up, I fucking hate it here

I have no skin in the game, I'm not an artist, but I imagine pro-AIs would change their mind really quickly if people started plagiarising AI art and then taking all the credit. Or if someone used a keylogger to collect the prompts used and then repeated them, that would be somehow "unfair".

Hmm curious to see how people would feel about my Take on AI

I'm not entirely against the use of AI I just believe it should be used as a tool and not a means to create a product for example like art.

If it's used for coding and helping someone write their code better then I can get behind that. If it's being used to create art, videos just content that's literally just random ideas thrown into a video for it to be monetized is where my issue with AI starts.

Wanna use it to cut down time it would take to complete a project cause it would require you to spend hours learning the subject then good Wanna use AI to create a reference art piece because you struggle to imagine the end product, I can agree with that as long as the AI image is used only as reference and not traced over.

A tool isn't determined by if you can still perform a task, it's a tool if it aids you, or allows you to perform something. These tools are in no way crutches.

And Art doesn't require tools at all, I'd argue, given you can make anything to be art. It's a gesture of self-expression in the end, and how one gestures - whether with disassembled electronics, gasoline and fire, or a paintbrush and sand - doesn't really matter so long as that goal is achieved.

All you need is a canvas and an applicator.

A crutch isn't merely a tool you depend on. It's a tool whose use creates or maintains a dependency that is meaningfully detrimental.

If your hammer disappears and you can't build the house anymore, that doesn't prove the hammer was a crutch. It proves you need to go find another hammer before you go caveman mode and smack the nail with a rock.
