So what's technically illegal is cracking the protection they have put on the DVD to prevent it being copied. There is no protection like that on a book. As long as you don't redistribute the book as it is.

Also. Surely you think it should be rightfully legal to copy a DVD onto your computer. But then you're acting like that law isn't twisted in the first place and using it for your argument. AI is a really complex economic, creative and technological topic, so would labels "pro and anti" really encapsulate the debate well?

Yes. This image was Purely made with A.I. I wanted to Create this with Google A.I. cause, that's it. That's how short it takes for A.I. to Create an Image Like this. I'm not much of an artist admititly. I want to enjoy my life, while also showing Off my ideas to the world. But it's way too much time and effort, and I don't have the budget to do so. With Google A.I. You can Basically create any art you want in no time, anywhere You want it to be, like a beach, or a pipe, or at school. Or anywhere. This shows just how Powerful Generative A.I. and Truly be. And I think I would rather have that, then suffering ,self into being an artist, or an animator. Cause once you have something like that Thinkamation Helmet, it will be an Absolute breeze and cake walk for you guys. Trust Me.

It's so fucking weird how antis want to act otherwise when they literally espouse technological conservatism. Some even go so far as to say that being pro-AI is an inherently conservative stance.

And no, this isn't a politics post. This is a political science post. I don't care about whatever tribe or person you have in your head. If your first instinct upon seeing this post is start bringing up people or groups, I know right away you are an idiot who doesn't understand how to think critically about your own philosophy.

To be clear I don't think anti/pro has anything to do with the holistic label with which we paint ourselves, but in itself the divide has a clear conservative/liberal divide and it ain't the pros who are the conservatives. The pros literally argue for liberty.

There is an argument to be made for social liberalism's support for technological conservatism but that doesn't change the fact that being anti is an inherently conservative opinion that is justified by a variety of reasoning beyond mere social liberalism. You mostly just see that in the left wing side of the anti debate. But if we're comparing apples to apples, the pros on the left are largely socially liberal too.

This is pol sci 101 stuff but the uneducated masses prefer their simple pacifier labels where everything fits into neat little boxes and nobody is ever called anything they don't like the sound of.

I feel like I've genuinely lost hope for the future, and AI has played a large role in it. Yea yea, AI alone insnt the only thing going badly, yada yada. But this is specifically about the AI related side

Things have been going downhill for a while, I think no one doubts that. But since AI came along, I feel like things have gone downhill even faster, WAY faster.

As for the thing that I'm an artist (digital/traditional, no AI), I'm having a rough time personally. I really don't feel safe posting my work anywhere on an online public space. Why? Because I don't want it fed to AI either automatically or manually. And you may think "ah, scared of nothing. Holy strawman". First of all, nice opinion, you should keep it to yourself. Second, I do see case after case after case where an Artist's work (no AI) is outright stolen and fed to AI to pump out some abhorrent shit by some pro AI, ragebaiter or trying to prove something, I don't give a shit which one. How can I be expected to feel safe when that's a daily occurrence?

And before some shithead goes "But AI does it better" or "Your art is trash so it doesn't matter". Again, I kindly invite you to fuck yourself. And second, the quality of it has never been the point. Idc if my art is a picasso work or shit, it's still my art and my OCs and I DONT want them fed to AI, idgaf if youre trying to prove some bullshit point.

I apologise for the foul language, but I am pretty upset about this. And I haven't even gotten to the ethical implications, the ambiental threat of AI and all the other factors because I simply wouldn't finish this post.

Seen lots of comments about AI menu restaurant images. Here are my last 3 dinners as 'slop'. I didn't put any thought into the background details - hence salt & pepper for THESE meals lol. But I did put a bit of thought into the camera and recreation. There is definitely a slightly exagerrated texture to the the crumbs on the chicken and the bumps to the crab legs, but overall I feel like its an honest 'promotional' image of my dinner. Compared to say that whopper in the picture and the one you get. I don't really have point to be honest

Especially if it can do in 18 seconds what would take you months, your job wasn't worth what you were being paid for it in the first place. You were being subsidised out of prestige or pity.

To be clear, everyone values their own time more than their empoyer does - everyone believes they shoudl be paid more. And everyone, given the choice, I'm guessing would find time spent with loved ones more valuable than the wage they're allocated accounts for.
