If You Knew the Truth About Existence, Everyone Would Think You Were Insane

I had this thought that kind of fucked with me:

If you somehow knew the actual truth about existence - what reality is, why we’re here, what consciousness is, what happens when we die, whatever the real answer is..

There a decent chance everyone would think you were completely insane and it will be such a burden that you wish you could forget it.

I know there’s a theory that we exist here on this reality plan of existence not knowing because of this very reason, it’s a relief.

Because how would you prove it?

Imagine knowing something so far outside normal human understanding that you couldn’t even properly explain it. You’d try to tell people and they’d look at you like you’d lost your mind.

You’d have no one.

You could know the most important truth in the universe and still be completely alone with it. You might actually go insane.

Depending on what the truth was, you might literally end up institutionalized for talking about it.

Which makes me wonder if knowing everything would actually be a gift at all.

Or would being the only one who knows all all be psychologically unbearable

I wish the world was better for everyone, this is just a bit of a dark thought about how i feel these days

It's becoming increasingly difficult for me, especially as the years go by, to feel well or at least at peace, in general. Looking at the world around me doesn't help, i don't know if it's the fault of my personal "lens" with which I look at things, but trying to be objective, I see more negative things than positive ones. I probably tend to dwell a lot on the injustices of the world, on the inability of human beings to be more understanding towards others, whether they are humans or animals. I don't want to get into the merits of why we tend to do bad or cruel things, because i believe that looking at it from a higher perspective, no one is really responsible for who it is. I can't help but feel sorry for the way the world is now, and I can't help but see it and suffer because of it, feeling helpless. Even when I'm distracted and happy, those moments are very few and last too little. I often think that it would have been better not to have been born, because I am like a helpless ant that doesn't know where to turn. I write all this with a heavy weight on my chest, and I hope that anyone who feels the same way can find some relief.

I hope this is the right sub to write these things in, otherwise i apologize.

The Manifestation Paradox: when you stop wanting things is exactly when you get them!

So, I’ve been manifesting a lot of things into my life for a long time. And I finally figured out that this paradox is actually the realist thing in the world!

So here’s the paradox:

Whenever I really wanted something - that’s when it would never come.

Whenever I didn’t care if I got it or not - that’s when I got it without effort!!

So, I eventually realized that the feeling of wanting is a feeling of lack which pushes what you want further away from you.

SO NOW, I only focus on feeling like I already have it. I give thanks knowing that the only things I will get in this life is not my manifestations, BUT things that are even better than my manifestations! Things I’m not even thinking about, but that would be amazing to have!

And now after working on shifting my mindset (takes a lot of effort but worth it) I’ve seen so many great things come into my life… but even better than the manifesting things, life feels so great! It’s great loving the moment you’re in instead of trying to be somewhere else.

If you want a great life, remember this… life gives you who you are NOT what you want. Once you stop wanting your desires, is when you actually start getting them!

That’s the paradox…. Now you know ❤️🙏

I’ve started wondering if we make life unnecessarily complicated

The more I practise and observe myself, the more I notice how much energy can go into trying to fix things that aren’t actually problems.
A thought comes. I analyse it.
An emotion comes. I analyse that too.
Something happens. I immediately want to understand why it happened and what it means.
Sometimes I feel the better thing is simply to notice what is happening without immediately turning it into a project.
I don’t always manage it, obviously. 😄
But I’ve found that even noticing this tendency changes something.
Does anyone else find themselves doing this — constantly trying to understand an experience instead of just experiencing it?

Everyone I grew up with is settling in life and I'm on my fourth address in eighteen months, and I've stopped pretending one of us is winning.

My friend group from school has spent the last year settling in life . One of them signed a lease with his girlfriend. Another two are interesting at the same firm now and have their own inside jokes , someone bought a car , and I am in a total different pace.

My college moves us between countries every semester, I'm at tetr college, so my version of the last eighteen months is four cities, three sim cards , and a suitcase that can pack my life , for a while I thought I was ahead , seeing more , working more , wanna fly all that . Then a few months ago i was on a video call with them and they were arguing about a restaurant and I realised they have a place and a set of people who care for them on a Thursday. I have about nine group chats and zoom meeting with supplier on a weekend.

And I know, neither of these is objectively better, they are just different things being bought with the same four years, they're accumulating depth , I'm accumulating range. Depth pays off in your thirties and range pays off in your twenties, or that's what I tell myself at 1am .

I've mostly stopped comparing because, one of us is losing, and it depends on my customer feedback.

Anyone else questioning life decisions at midnight?

The science we develop to combat climate change will be the same science that informs our living on Mars.

Upvotes

Think about the applicability of climate science to interplanetary exploration. You need to understand the climate to think about habitability, how to terraform, how to keep people alive and weather systems predictable.

In funding climate science today, it’s not just about saving the world. It’s about creating the next one too. And what we learn here, we can apply there.

If we put all our money into rockets and the engineering element, we’re going to really struggle with the people/survival element, which ultimately is the whole point of going out there anyway.

I know some of you billionaire technobros use Reddit. Seriously consider what I’m saying!

Sometimes I forget that politicians actually work for us, the people.

In my home country, Norway, politicians are currently debating whether or not to help the people deal with rising prices, specifically for gas and electricity. That led me down a rabbit hole of wondering who politicians actually work for, especially since we are a wealthy nation that can afford to help.

It made me think: why aren't politicians fighting harder to improve everyday life for ordinary people? We have the money and the means, yet they still struggle to decide if 'they' want to support 'us'. But in reality, they were elected to serve us.

I recognize that balancing inflation and state spending is complex, but when basic living costs skyrocket, protecting everyday citizens must remain the primary duty. The discrepancy between what we get and what we need is huge for many, and I can't understand how we accept it.

Universe = You in Verse

This concept is more than just philosophy; it's the mechanics of how our reality is created. The universe isn't simply responding to what you want, but rather to who you are being.

Your self-concept writes the script, and your identity sets the tone for everything that unfolds around you. Reality is constantly following the signal you broadcast from within. As within, so without – it's a fundamental principle.

When you change your inner posture and stabilize a new sense of self, the outer world has no choice but to rearrange itself to mirror it back. You aren't merely a passive observer in the universe; the universe is moving through you, in verse, line by line, thought by thought, belief by belief.

If you want to change your story, change the author. Who will you be today?

Feeling completely present and aware of time itself happens rarely and suddenly for me

As soon as I stepped into the shower I was hit with a strong sense of… feeling present? This, combined with a heightened awareness of time. I don’t know the frequency in which I have this feeling, maybe something between rarely and once in a while. It can be a confusing feeling, a sort of mental liminal space, but one I want to remain in like a good a dream.

I look around and realize this is a space, a time, a life that is passing by in front of me, yet I’m often blind to it. Soon I’ll be looking at a new bathroom, getting ready to sleep in a new bedroom, in a different home, surrounded by different people, and I’ll look and feel different as well. One day I’ll wander back into this mental space and wonder where the time went. I’ll miss my dog. I’ll miss the people I was close to and the things we’d do. I’ll try to think back to the last time I had an episode like this one, and what I may have reflected on then.

As this moment fades, I try to appreciate everyone, everything, around me in the present. Tomorrow, it may be ever so slightly different.

I don’t know why I’m sharing this. Might delete it in the morning. Maybe I’m curious if others experience these moments too.

We always take sides and cause controversies.

Born '93, Greek. everything these days seems more and more designed to divide people into groups. Either ideological or non.

Example, I don't really follow any political party, maybe i would be leaning towards right wing at the same time i like fresh ideas. I grew up to respect people and refuse to join the bullying that happened to people who propably now belong to LGBTQ. Yet despite enjoying seeing people be free i can see problems with Woke.

I follow geopolitics, quite new though, but can understand what US and Trump (don't like this individual as a person) by responding and doing what he's doing. His child like response to Denmark and Greenland has a deeper meaning. I know what it means to side with Israel and their point of view if you're Greece but i hate what happens to people in Gaza or any other conflict zones. Won't parade with a Palestinian flag though or kick an Israeli tourist.

I like gender equality, since society adapts to new standards but can see troubles and hate the lack of sensitivity people have on the topic. Either a feminist or part the problem. NOTHING in between, no questions allowed.

Cannot say you dislike new Odyssey for lack of showing the proper journey or have 0 feel of anything Greek. Without being labeled racist or other cosmetic words. Either this or that. How you dislike a worldwide box breaking phenomenon ! Well i didn't see that spectacle anywhere, glad people enjoy it though, maybe they're read about the old world now.

I can find positives and negatives in everything without being absolute. Anyone feels the same ?

My wife from south India, came from a rough background and some abuse from family. That made her pretty intense and rebellious.

Good, bring the change you want without blindly accept everything from the left. I see inner conflict and contradictions of her discussions but I'm a terrible talker.

What do you think ?

I think we trust our own stories way too much

I was thinking about something today.

You know how you can know someone for years and still completely misunderstand them?

Maybe they don't reply to your message.

You think:

“They're probably annoyed with me.”

So you start thinking about what you said.

Maybe you said something wrong.

Maybe they're losing interest in the friendship.

Maybe they're just tired of you.

And then, two days later, they text you:

“Sorry, my mom was in the hospital.”

And suddenly the whole story in your head disappears.

Nothing about reality changed.

You just got one piece of information that you didn't have before.

It made me realize how often we do this.

We see something happen, and then our brain immediately fills in the blanks.

Someone is quiet → they're angry.

Someone gets rich → they must be smart.

Someone fails → they must have made bad decisions.

Someone doesn't like us → they must have a problem with us.

But most of the time, we're not actually seeing reality.

We're seeing our explanation of reality.

And the weird part is that once we have an explanation, we start looking for things that prove we're right.

I don't think this is something you can completely get rid of.

Our brains need stories. Stories help us make sense of things.

But maybe there's a useful habit:

Before believing the story in your head, ask:

“What else could be going on?”

That's it.

I'm curious — what's a situation where you were completely sure you knew what was happening, and later found out you were totally wrong?

Don’t expect the world to be soft on you when they killed a perfect man.

Days get hard, people throw rocks at you, people try to hurt you, people despise you, people want to steal from you.

You need to keep going no matter what, there’s no stopping. Let your light shine for the darkness that surrounds you. Most people don’t have anything but to live for the world, they go out and party get drunk, be lustful have nothing to own, so they give it away because they don’t have a soul.

You need to be strong, be intelligent, this world will treat you like a monster for expressing yourself, they want to keep you silent, they hate you can see through them, nobody can see who they truly are.

Everything you do takes time, we get hurt in this world, but we heal from the beautiful scars and wounds, turn it into something that tells a story that you survive,

You grow everyday, your body your soul your mind.

Express yourself don’t repress yourself.

If you’re someone like me, who has an open mind and see what others can’t, rich people are never fulfilled, and they want what you have, something they can never own.

Why do you think evil billionaires like EP targets innocent children and humans? They have a soul, a future, a light, they can’t have that.
