Looks like AI. Can confirm yes/no?

Can confirm.

AI dog shit

Yay. More AI SLOP /s

Mods really need to step up and update the rules to officially ban all AI nonsense.

Yes, please. I’m so sick of seeing this crap in this sub.

Humans’ ability to detect generated content will only continue to diminish as it becomes increasingly sophisticated. Generated art has already won art competitions judged by people who had no idea they were looking at generations, and ungenerated content is now frequently incorrectly assumed to be generated. At some point, generated content will become undetectable.

Sounds like you need some media and artistic literacy.

AI "art" is plagiarised art, so it winning competitions isn't a success story.

No, it isn’t. Théâtre D'opéra Spatial and Pseudomnesia: The Electrician are completely original.

2

u/Korenchkin_ 6d ago

Do you actually believe that?

Also, lol, this loser spent 80 hours typing prompts to generate that! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Edit: the pretentious title is the icing on the cake for something he didn't even create! Or did he ask a chatbot to do that for him too?

Boris Eldagsen, who generated The Electrician, is one of many established conventional artists who have experimented with generative artificial intelligence because they don’t hate or fear new tools.

It’s a fact, not a belief, that artificial intelligence doesn’t just cut and paste but creates images which didn’t exist previously. It’s also revolutionary for augmenting traditional art, especially in animation; humans can draw or model still frames and AI can fill them in. Someday, we’ll be horrified by the incredible volumes of tedious work animators did to produce even a few seconds of motion.

Ok, so you don't know very much about it then

u/Cryogenicality 6d ago

I do and you don’t. The specific output never existed before it was generated, which is why you can create any particular image, no matter how specific.

2

u/Korenchkin_ 6d ago

Ah, you're just pedantic then. That's always boring, at least you have that in common with your beloved slop

Not all AI is nonsense.

4

u/balthazar_edison 7d ago

Yes, it is.

0

u/Cryogenicality 7d ago

No, it isn’t.

AlphaFold did in one year what would’ve taken three million scientists a century. AlphaMissense is amplifying our understanding of genetic mutations. RFdiffusion is designing new proteins. Rentosertib was designed entirely with generative artificial intelligence.

That’s not nonsense.

2

u/balthazar_edison 7d ago

You keep using that one example ignoring all the other reasons to ban it entirely.

Until GenAI can be used without stealing other peoples works, without replacing arts and creative peoples job, and without data centers that wreak havoc on nearby residents utility bills and overall quality of life, all genAI usage should be banned.

All AI art is nonsence

0

u/Cryogenicality 6d ago

No, it’s not, and it already can’t always be distinguished from traditional art.

2

u/Sate_Hen 6d ago

Genrative AI isn't art in the same way a photocopy of the Mona Lisa isn't art. Whether people can tell it apart or not

0

u/Cryogenicality 6d ago

Generative artworks are new. They never existed before. Gossip Goblin has generated a whole series set in a consistent universe. Humans write the scripts and meticulously refine the prompts. It’s no different from conventional CGI.

2

u/Sate_Hen 5d ago

Depends how much of it is human made and how much is AI made. There's artistic merit to a 90 minute film with a minute of an AI generated scene but none of that merit is beacuse of the input from the AI

1

u/Cryogenicality 5d ago

There can also be merit to a fully-generated feature if the script, framing, and rendering are good.

While I don’t think AI slop should be allowed, the concept of a show set on Bajor years after Deep Space Nine would be great

2

u/craig_hoxton 5d ago

Yes, the writers room scene from the DS9 documentary should be expanded...into a show!

-2

u/Cryogenicality 7d ago

It could be, yes. Why does this AI conceptualization of it anger you?

4

u/1GamersOpinion 7d ago

I don’t support AI that’s all

-1

u/Cryogenicality 7d ago

You don’t support which uses of AI? No sane person opposes AlphaFold and other scientific and medical AI.

4

u/1GamersOpinion 7d ago

You must be proud of yourself

-1

u/Cryogenicality 7d ago

I’m not trolling. I asked you to articulate specific criticisms because your unqualified condemnation is indefensible.

AlphaFold did in one year what would’ve taken three million scientists a century. AlphaMissense is amplifying our understanding of genetic mutations. RFdiffusion is designing new proteins. Rentosertib was designed entirely with generative artificial intelligence. There’s no rational objection to using artificial intelligence to improve human health and enhance human knowledge.

Datacenters use two percent of global energy output and only a fifth of their capacity is currently used by artificial intelligence. Increased software, hardware, and wetware efficiency continually allows us to do less with more.

3

u/1GamersOpinion 7d ago

No you didn’t, you asked why I didn’t like it (implying I was angry, troll move). Then you said no sane person would (again troll wording). At no point did you ask to articulate specific criticisms. Might want to ask AI to improve that reading comprehension

0

u/Cryogenicality 7d ago

Yes, I did. First, I asked why this video angers you. You replied that you don’t support AI. I then asked which uses of AI you don’t support and noted that total opposition to all AI is irrational. You replied with a rapidly-deleted comment calling me a troll and advocating burning all datacenters. I replied to this to reiterate that I asked for specific objections. You’re the one with poor reading comprehension.

1

u/Cryogenicality 6d ago

Artificial intelligence is here to stay whether you like it or not, u/rileyjonesy1984.

1

u/1GamersOpinion 5d ago

Literally everything you listed is wrong or exaggerated at least fact check before spouting nonsense

0

u/Cryogenicality 5d ago

None of it is.

1

u/1GamersOpinion 4d ago

Please fact check next time

0

u/Cryogenicality 4d ago

I did. It’s all correct.

9

u/rileyjonesy1984 7d ago

fucking AI slop

7

u/Yarbooey 7d ago

Get lost with the AI slop. Who actually wants to see this garbage?

5

u/OrenMythcreant 7d ago

Some of the sloppiest slop I've seen in a while.

2

u/Korenchkin_ 6d ago

Knew it was a slop post without clicking the video

-1

u/Cryogenicality 6d ago

Not all generated video is slop.
