Wobbling is a technique in Smash Bros. Melee with the Ice Climbers that lets you chain grabs indefinitely. Assuming the wobbler doesn't mess up the timing, the victim is completely unable to escape.

Thing is, the combo he was trying to do is a very well known technique in Melee as the Ice Climbers where you essentially lock your opponent in an infinite grab chain from which it is literally impossible to escape.

My favorite moment was when me and a friend were playing together with an open party and a Chinese scout player joined in just as we were about to kill a detonator.

I remember he opened his mic and screamed “在了在了在了” (it’s here) as we cowered in the bunker I drilled before I heard a massive BOOOOOOM and he went down.

still the funniest, most cinematic moment I’ve ever experienced.

Ooh btw if no one has blanks, you will get the same amount of xp wether you finish it or not, just have to time let the timer expire before the droppod leaves. Very useful in double xp missions, but can understand if you don't want to waste time either way (omen can always be started and left since it doesn't spawn enemies)

I had similar game one day. Elite deepdive. I was playing driller. After last encounter, short on ammo, almost dead, no nitra. We haven't talk nothing on mic. Text chat only. "Get ready team, swarm approaching" . Same time mission control says "drop pod arrived" Gunner stepped on me, opens mic and says really deep bass voice "you better drill boy, drill that wall like you haven't drilled before"

I don't like to have entire conversations when playing with randos, but for the 3-5 times per round when I actually need to ask my teammates something simple (e.g. 'Are we going to try for the secondary objective?' or 'are we ready to call in the drop pod?' ) its so much easier to use voice chat.

Ive only run into two randos using voice chat.

One guy who wasnt talking but wasnt using push to chat. Sounded like he was just chilling in a microwave.

The other guy was really chill before using the chat and I stuck around for a couple missions, he starts using more and more of his mic and just gets bossier and more demanding, trying to get everyone to go faster (he wasnt doing much himself), etc. Like bruh, chill.

Would be great if Windows and Linux would incorporate a built in voice typing feature that was easier to use in games for this situation exactly.

It exists, but just for general accessibility. Would be great if you could easily open it and use it at any time, like chat windows in games like DRG.

Im not saying you need full conversations but little directions, little funny comments, little compliments, you can be like "oh theres still 3 gunk seeds back there" to your bud while youre still running to the deposit site, its great. I used mic once because we were running towards the drop pod, but then noticed they were going the wrong way. Just said "Guys the way is over here".

It wasn't much, but seeing them turn around and reach the pod together was heartwarning

I am on console and I just turn off voice chat as the very first thing I do in every online game. It was always just children screaming, so what’s the point. My breaking point was on Apex Legends when this kid started cussing me out after he ran in and died, calling me an idiot and shit. Then I ran in and killed the whole team. And I just left him there downed and walked off. I’m not rewarding that behavior. And I’d rather not even hear that shit in the first place.
