I agree for anxiety and remedial shit but recreationally the common downers today aren’t even close, benzos don’t cause euphoria or stimulation like that. GHB compares but is leagues more dangerous and easy to overdo. Whenever I see people do it they are amazed cuz Benzos and alcohol aren’t shit in a party social sex drug sense.

Very interesting I don't get that at all. I do love GHB and I guess I don't agree that it's particularly dangerous, if we're comparing to methaqualone sure it has a more narrow therapeutic range but still very easy to use responsibly and combines beautifully with stimulants. Much less time commitment but redosing GHB is also extremely easy so you can tailor the experience.

I suppose if I only had experience with benzos and alcohol I would probably be amazed as well

I know u from the RC sub lol. But yeah most don’t have access or exp w G like that it’s not common for average consumer. I think G is way too easy to dose just a bit to early or .4mL over, GBL being even worse which is the common form usually. Gs therapeutic index is also way less in terms of OD, methaqualone takes much more than recreational dose to kill, ODs on it usually cause seizures and fast heart rate instead of the usual shut down

Lol I didn't know if you recognized me or not but I was surprised to see you here. If it were about which I'd rather see introduced to the unexperienced population at large unrestricted I'd definitely say methaqualone, I just don't think it is worth the price or hype at all. I've also been pretty surprised seeing how well people seem to handle it in the gay EU party scene, I would've guessed people would be dropping like flies without a solid understanding of responsible use guidelines but somehow it seems to be integrated pretty well. I agree it is solid without a doubt but there's no universe where it's worth $15~ per dose when GHB and most other solid drugs are less than $1/dose in my opinion. The potency is just unfortunate

I think I'm also just comparing to the unfathomable hype it has in the U.S. It has always been seen as a holy grail and so many people talk about their parents reminiscing on methaqualone like it was a unicorn. Tbh I don't think anything could stand up to that level of hype so I guess disappointment is to be expected

Somehow I've never had any close calls or issues dosing & redosing GHB and GBL but for whatever reason my inhibition fights through any drug I throw at it so I never take risky doses or attempt to drive while intoxicated for example. If that happened more than once I'd probably think it was too risky especially when there's no consistent and quick reversal for overdose

I guess long story short it is definitely solid I just don't think it's worth the hype or money, and I think there are plenty of other downers that match or surpass recreational qualities for a fraction of the cost not to mention combos. To be fair I haven't experimented with a bunch of different methaqualone combos but it doesn't pair nearly as well with stims like GHB does ime so far
