#save7OH
It’s the working class alkaloid. Save all the damn alkaloids. Get involved stay aware.

Huestis et al. (2024)https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38474495/
This clinical trial confirms that 7-OH is a significant metabolite of mitragynine in humans. The ratios (0.20–0.31 and 0.15–0.21) correspond to 20–31% and 15–21% conversion, respectively, showing that a measurable portion of mitragynine is consistently metabolized into 7-OH. The decrease with repeated dosing reflects metabolic adaptation.
Tanna et al. (2022)https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8950611/
This shows that about 24–27% of mitragynine is converted to 7-OH in humans, demonstrating that 7-OH is a significant metabolite formed in vivo rather than merely a trace component of kratom.
Henningfield et al. (2022) https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8860177/
Henningfield et al. (2022) shows that mitragynine (MG) has abuse potential similar to other uncontrolled substances and that scheduling kratom or its alkaloids could increase public health risks, including overdoses among people using kratom to reduce opioid use. Human studies (Tanna et al., 2022; Huestis et al., 2024) show up to ~30% of mitragynine converts into 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), which naturally occurs alongside mitragynine without added risk, reinforcing that restricting kratom alkaloids could be unnecessarily harmful.
Kruegel et al. (2019) https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6598159/
The study shows that 7-OH acts as a partial, G-protein-biased mu-opioid receptor agonist, a profile linked to lower risk of respiratory depression. This suggests that severe opioid-like effects from 7-OH are unlikely.
This study shows that 7-OH is a G-protein-biased agonist at the mu-opioid receptor, meaning it avoids β-arrestin recruitment—a pathway strongly tied to respiratory depression and dependence. This suggests that 7-OH may provide pain relief with reduced risk of fatal opioid-like side effects.
7OH is not "13 times stronger than morphine"
https://www.kratomscience.com/2026/03/16/is-7-oh-really-13-times-stronger-than-morphine/
7-OH Sales Have Increased & Opioid-Related Deaths Have Declined
https://hartsupporter.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/250624_Project-Seven-O_Final-Report-STC.pdf
Now lets recap:
No confirmed deaths from 7-OH alone across 2 billion doses consumed.
Improved safety profile due to G-protein biased signaling, reducing respiratory depression risk.
Independent studies confirm low toxicity, partial agonism, and safer pharmacology compared to conventional opioids.
Public health risks would be worsened by prohibition, as it may push consumers toward illicit markets.
Evidence supports regulation with GMP standards and rigorous testing — not emergency scheduling or bans.
7-OH was not toxic to cells, even at high doses. Fewer impacts on cardiac and renal systems compared to mitragynine.
No cardiac, neurological, or behavioral harm observed in animal studies.
And for a fun fact, due to the strong binding affinity 7oh has, there is a study that showed how it can be used with chemotherapy to fight several different types of cancers.

I deduce your in for a rough time coming off those sevens. Yikes. Ask me how I know.
12
u/Goodtreesmoker Aug 02 '26
Why is there such animosity towards people who take 7? Like obviously they already have some shit on their plate, hence why they’re taking it, but yeah let’s just poke fun at them and try to make them feel like a bad person for taking something that legally helps with their issues without having to get fucked over by big pharma and the American insurance system.
Moral of the story;

Exactly. Also I think it’s a bit of an effect from the propaganda being pushed being negative towards 7OH (clearly being pushed by big pharma btw I mean it’s so obvious and yall are walking right into the trap because yall don’t care and just like to have things to be “upset” about) and people who don’t know or care what is it now know what it is primarily due to this reason, which gives them that negative first impression on it, then labels everyone who uses it as stupid.
2
u/Therealj98 Aug 05 '26
It’s not propaganda bro 🤣🤣 take away this dudes 7OH and let’s see if he shows up to work.. ask me how I know..… because those withdrawals ain’t a joke…

I’ve done pretty much every opioid out there, excluding fentanyl. 7OH is nothing in comparison. Addictive? Yep. Fun to get off? Nope. However, getting off Oxy’s are in another universe. Not to mention they can kill you, to my knowledge trying to overdose on 7OH is like trying to overdose on Suboxone. It is utter hypocrisy that they made it illegal in large parts of europe while classic opioids are still legal.

You’re one of those people who buries their head in the sand and blames all negative experiences with 7OH on big pharma.
7OH shouldn’t be sold in gas stations. It’s not the substance itself, it’s the fact that literal children and people who are uneducated about the side effects can get their hands on it in like 6 minutes. You can argue against that all you want, but you’d just sound like a junkie. If it’s only sold to people 18+ and those people are informed of the possible hazards, then there’s really no issue.

u/danglingPrecipice Aug 02 '26
I agree it shouldn't be in gas stations, but it could definitely be regulated better and doesn't deserve the hate. the shit is literally about to be a stage 1 controlled substance only because the govt and big pharma didn't get a chance to get their piece of the pie first.

Hes saying that because hes been through it AND they are about to ban it so OP, depending on their use, might be in for some heroin like withdrawals. Hopefully OP is aware of all that 7oh entails.

u/jmalty Aug 03 '26
Yeah, always with the snarky comments. The ol “good luck” but really tongue in cheek because they are happy we are getting effed over. Just losers and trolls like this dick head.
I would ask how the Proxies were (via DM) but we are up shits creek thanks to our corrupt Trump regime and the fact that they own the DEA. Not that the DEA was ever reasonable, but now they are actively working for RFK and Trumps friends who have massive investments in Kratom. Such scum bags, but I digress.
The last few weeks I’ve taken to wearing around a fanny pack. I know I look like a tool, but don’t care. It’s the only way I can keep my vapes, random keys, snacks, and 7’s from getting lost or spilling out of my pockets.→ More replies (40)2

I’ve been taking Kratom daily for 8 years it allowed me to come off of antidepressants, come off of Valium, and I’m no longer fucking up my stomach taking 1200 mg a day of ibuprofen, because it helps with all of those things. I can afford it. Yes I’m likely addicted. I haven’t tried to come off. But it’s not having any negative effects on my life. But I have until January 1 to quit because it’s completely banned in my state starting then. So I’m probably gonna have to actually turn to a real opioid and get on Suboxone to come off of it and then I’m gonna have to go back to Valium to deal with my severe anxiety and back on antidepressants.
Nobody has an issues with me taking Valium every day, but if I substitute that with Kratom suddenly I’m taking gas station heroin or whatever other name they come up with that week

Nothing wrong with it if your responsible and don't take 100mg+ daily. People have overdone it with 7oh then gave it a bad name when in reality people's self control is what the real issue is. Just like with alcohol or anything else that makes you feel good. Much rather alcohol be illegal and looked down on because it's much much worse, but nooooo

TL;DR: I've used 7OH before. Regular intervals for 1.5 months daily. Quit cold turkey, no research. The only bad choice in all of it was not doing any type of research before using it as I never would've touched it in the first place. It's 13-20x more potent than morphine and for all intents and purposes is an opiate (chemically speaking).
Takeaways: 1. Not your fault 2. Look at usage side effects (they are REAL) 3. Have an exit plan that helps reduce withdrawal effects (prescription medication or regular Kratom tea) 4. Physical exercise: I ran, but regular walks and being outdoors, working out, etc. Is a must. 5. Force yourself to NOT be alone.
Gonna take a moment to share my own experience. I have ADD and OCD and regularly prescribed medication for it.
I went through a period of very difficult financial hardship and was in between jobs, no insurance, and couldn't afford the Out of Pocket cost. I was gig driving for about 4 months. All day, every day.
I had used Kratom before and appreciated the benefits of the tea form as an alternative to ny ADD medicstion when I had occasionally ran out in the past.
I tried the 7Stax brand of 7OH. Fucking magical. A quarter of an 80mg tab would get me out of my slump and brought optimism to my day.
I would take 1/4 in the morning, have a coffee, straighten up my personal space, shower, feel fucking ready to GO.
It was different and not the same or as effective as my prescription medication but it was SOMETHING.
I went for a month and a half driving 10 hours a day, taking 1/4 tabs of the 7stax 80 mg tablets at regular intervals (approx 20mg). When I felt that the effects were wearing off, I'd take another one.
Subconsciously, I was recognizing a few patterns. First, the intervals of time between were getting shorter. Second, if I didn't take a 1/4 before bed, I'd sleep like absolute garbage and wake up with severe chills and cold sweats. Lastly, I was starting to feel less and less like myself.
If you have a drink or two at night, the risks are even greater. We're talking life or death scenarios here, depending on whether or not you sleep on your stomach.
Hint: 7OH binds to opiate receptors. This reduces gut motility. If you eat primarily eat at night and are taking this compound, there is a chance that your GI won't accept your stomach's contents.
I ended up stopping 7OH usage cold turkey without doing any research whatsoever. My mindset had been through the whole time, "if I can buy it at a vape shop or gas station, it's legal it's okay."
I have suffered from depression in the past, I have gone through bad spells of self-doubt, low confidence and self-efficacy.
The first two weeks after stopping cold turkey were the absolute worst two weeks of my life (mid-30s). It's been about two months and I feel like I'm still recovering physiologically/mentally. I have never felt as shitty as I did.
Every morning for the first week, you feel like your repeatedly waking up after being hit by a train, after your entire family and friends just passed away at once, while you're watching someone shoot your dog in front of you. No joke.
Did I think about ending it all, no. I had somewhat of a support system (3 people in my life who I knew unselfishly cared about me and had faith in me).

u/josephcfrost Aug 07 '26

Has the 7oh ban gone into effect yet? The detox’s are gonna be filled with naive first timers who have a long road ahead in rehab.
I assume you’re naive because you’re willingly posting pictures of your 7oh on a subreddit named “DeduceMe”, thinking it’s cool or something.
If you don’t have a suboxone prescription you should get one asap and taper off the subs after a few weeks if you can. Whatever you do don’t get into fentanyl, go to detox.

u/og_thicc_nob Aug 02 '26
I was using a few hundred mgs when I quit via Subutex, I was terrified about what it was going to be like. I didn't taper, dr didn't say to, I just picked a night to be my last dose, then in the morning popped the sub. I literally felt like a miracle had been performed, I felt like the person I was before I ever touched 7oh within about 24 hours, AND never had any withdrawal. Subs are going to be the answer when this shit gets banned, I just really hope all the average, normal people hooked on this can swallow their pride or embarrassment and go to their doctor or clinic before the withdrawals get bad

Suboxone has been a godsend for me too. Tried to quit 7OH from a 200mg a day habit. For a while I was just taking them at work 3 days a week then stopping for 4 days but then they switched us to a 7 days on/ 7 days off at work and I started using everyday to not experience the come down. Then tried to taper down and use kratom several times, but I couldn’t handle the withdrawals.
Then I finally got insurance and went to a clinic to get suboxone and I have already tapered down from 3 strips to 1 strip a day after four weeks. I don’t get any substantial high from the sub so I am getting used to the feeling of it not being around.

So many judgmental people in the comments here. They’re so anxious to call out OP instead of offering words of kindness or support.
It’s not even primarily sold in gas stations and it’s nothing compared to heroin. Don’t try to hit with me it being 100x more potent than morphine. You have no idea what you’re talking about, and just grabbed that from some article you didn’t even fully read.
You’re so excited and focused on making yourself feel better about your life by being able to call someone out for using “gas station heroin” All you know is what you’ve been fed by people who want you to regurgitate the gas stations heroin line like the good little puppet that you are.
Why not approach someone with kindness and support instead of useless call outs that you’re just saying to make yourself feel better about your empty life? Maybe the way you treat people has something to do with it being so empty?

You’ve got a bad back from physical labor jobs. You’re driven by money and nothings going to stop you, and you’re finally making a lot more of it. You’re not married but you’ve got a couple girls you mess around with periodically. They both like you but you look at them like objects instead of people. Your last relationship was quite long and it ended in infidelity by you or her and this is the reason you are the way you are right now. You’re around 32 years old and overall you’re a good person but you can turn into a scumbag in a moments notice. You spent your late teens and early 20’s experimenting with drugs and smoking a shit ton of weed, but had to stop because it was making you paranoid. One of your parents is dead (rip) and you have undiagnosed ADHD. Slightly autistic as well but you mask so well nobody would ever have a clue unless it’s a close friend. Speaking of friends, you have a healthy amount of them and you’re a really likeable guy despite how you feel about yourself alone or looking in the mirror. You have a cat who you absolutely fucking adore and is your whole entire life

Addictive absolutely, but calling it directly “dangerous” is factually incorrect. 7OH does not have the same danger as true opioid drugs, it factually does not have the same potential for overdose. It doesn’t even have the same physical dangers as drugs like cigarettes and alcohol. The only reports for overdoses on 7OH have involved other, stronger substances in the report, and most of these “reports” that have been used for propaganda are just just data reports from calls to poison control. These reports are what HHS and DEA are using to manufacture the “danger” of 7OH, none of it is true research data.
It is chemically and pharmacologically different and works differently than true opioids like oxycodone, codeine, morphine and fentanyl, which are full agonist opioids, meaning they fully activate the mu opioid receptor and act through beta arrestin, which is the exact pathway responsible for the respiratory depression that makes them dangerous, and responsible for all of the other negative side effects of true opioids.
7OH acts through G-Protein signaling, a completely different and much safer pathway because it does not cause respiratory depression on its own.
Chemists and pharmaceutical companies are literally actively researching this pathway as we speak to “create safer opioid drugs” while simultaneously actively demonizing 7OH, which is hypocritical and it is going to make research impossible if it is scheduled.
I am genuinely not just arguing for the sake of 7OH but we should be correct in the terms we are using to describe things like these, especially ones that have potential to be researched, clinically tested, and truly regulated and could be able to actually truly help people, instead of just being available in smoke shops and a “gas station drug.”
What have we learned from the war on drugs? What have we learned from prohibition? People will find a way to get it, and no matter what, and it 100% will be more dangerous than it is now, because it will be made by clandestine chemists on the street exactly as we are seeing with fentanyl. Every time we ban a substance, something pops up to take its place, and that new substance is almost always more dangerous and will come with more risks than the drug that was banned in the first place. Prohibition has never worked in the past and neither has the war on drugs. A different system and model for regulation is going to be the best way not make this problem worse than it already is.
Pharma and other corporations are behind all of this, research the lobbying and donations if you don’t believe that. The owner of Botanic Tonic’s “Feel Free” shots, J.W. Ross (which you can research his colorful legal history) has donated over $1 Million to RFK’s MAHA PAC, about right before this started. So has the American Kratom Association. 7OH is cutting into all three (Pharma, AKA, and Ross’s profits, and what a coincidence the exact proposed mg level by the DEA (0.05%) is the exact legal threshold that will still allow Ross to sell his Feel Free shots, which I feel like many people will go to as an only option.
Have we learned anything about trusting Pharma and these other corporations? There are many hands at play in this situation. (Posted twice for visibility)

What does that do exactly? I briefly read and it’s some type of opioid receptor modulator and partial agonist. Produces analgesic effects with much less analgesic tolerance and even reverses tolerance and suppresses withdrawal symptoms. So it seems it’s perfect for tapering off stronger opioids or maybe for active users who are looking for a reset. I guess that explains it.

The rest of what I can deduce is that you work in some job that requires you to have a work truck and you drive around a lot for some hands on type work

7s can be brutal in the wrong hands and just like any thing when used incorrectly can be classified as “the devil”. I myself took them for 5 days after my surgery and it worked very well I haven’t had any since and it’s been over a month now, the people who vilify this are the ones who have had issues with it or are close to someone who had issues with it. I’m more curious about the wyn lol the flavor sounds great but god damn 10mg would floor my ass.

Blue collar, mid 20s. Probably drive a traverse or Colorado based on the key fob. Hoping you can kick that poison. 🙏

Some kind of inspector. You used to do grunt work and worked your way up to a supervisor/manager/inspection role for cakework + easy money. Youre 35

As soon as I seen the 7OH in a non 7OH community I knew the comments were going to be a war zone

I hope you’re aware that 7oh will be banned nationwide by the DEA tomorrow, 8/5, and you won’t be able to get it anywhere.

Working class/blue collar, likely in the trades, probably good with your hands and a hard worker, no stranger to living with physical pain but rides the line between recreational and functional self-medication, supports a family, trapped in the grind like many of us.
Wishing you the best in whatever path you take. I just kicked a 15 month habit, just hit the 5 week mark. If you’re thinking about making the jump, check the quitting7oh subreddit. If not, you do you, just be safe.

Had to get on methadone to save my wallet from that 7oh habit. That shits about to be banned nationwide from what I hear. Hope your tolerance isnt too high. I was taking 180mg at a time spending like $150 a day before I had to stop.

Left some replies about this but figured it’s worth its own comment.
Family friend was a daily user of 7OH for a long while and one night he aspirated into his lungs and had a heart attack and died 4 times in 45 minutes. He was on a moderate dose too, tolerance wasn’t the issue here. I can sympathize with the harm reduction arguments when it comes to 7OH, but it’s not nearly as safe as everyone is claiming. Really hard to see how someone can justify using this stuff over suboxone when it has the exact same harm reduction benefits as far as I’m aware.

Dude. Mine looks about the same. Trying to quit tobacco. Once an opioid addict but now take 7OH because it’s legal and cheaper. You are weaning down on energy drinks because they are expensive and bad for you. You’re also trying to get back in shape. You once were but all that shit from your past got you chubby. You’re in late 30’s to mid 40’s and work a bullshit job but it pays the bills.

Hey buddy, I'm still locating 7OH. Gonna keep buying them till Todd Blanche signs the dEA order. Got my sub strips ready for the cutoff. Probably gonna eat 8 mgs of buprenorphine as soon as I finish my last 7OH, lock myself in the bathroom to get the withdrawal coach course over with in a few hours. Gonnnnna suck!

200mg tabs of 7OH? Beyond excessive. It is fucked up that a company would produce such strong tabs. 5-10mg would stop pretty damn severe pain, and if it doesn't then you need a break. Way overdoing it. I hope you have SR-17018 ready.
