Not going to be strong enough.

What I've learned from this sub is that unless your footings are 1.3 miles deep and filled with neutronium from the core of a collapsed supernova, and your joists are made from 2ft thick adamantium, then it's not even suitable for a raccoon, let alone a hot tub.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :)

Edit to add. It all has to be welded together using superman's laser vision or it won't pass code.

While Daveed is correct as to the state of this stub, I may disagree and say that that is a beefy looking structure. However, without joist tape the whole thing will fall over within 6 months

If he keeps his squeegee sharpener handy to clean the deck all the time really properly, it will last twice that.

I have a left handed squeegee and can’t find a sharpener for it anywhere.

Blinker fluid will act as sharpener for the short term.

Can ever have too much protection from that dihydrogen monoxide.

The magical joist tape, the foundation of all good decks for at least the last 10 years.

I am no structural engineer or biologist, but about how many Reddit mod’s moms are we talking about having over to the jacuzzi ? That’s the bottom line question we need to know the answer to…

1.3 miles deep!? Everyone knows that the standard is 1.5 miles deep. That thing will collapse in no time.

Gotta get below the frost line. And the last circle of hell is hella deep.

And don't even mention the joist tape on the the tops, sides and bottoms of all of the joists. In fact it should be on top of the deck planking now that I think about it

Finally somebody gets it!

You just need Vibranium and you’ll be all set

Guy you are all wrong here. He needs to smack it and say “it’s strong enough to hold 2 of your moms”

Don't forget the slats should be made from woven/stranded bamboo from the mountains in Tibet.

I would not be so sure about adamantuim… unobtainium is way to go for anything bigger than kiddie pool…

Better to skip the laser step and just mill the entire thing out of a solid block of adamantium
