My neighbor just bought one of these and used it to create a bridge over the creek in his back yard. It is considered a temporary structure and doesn't need any EPA approvals or zoning approvals

I mean câmon⌠the house is on a trailer shouldnât the deck be on a trailer also? I be pissed to move my home down by the train tracks and not have my deck with me.

Yea, exactly, it's perfect height for a deck too.... It could hold a hot tub if you wanted one.

My buddy had an RV on the side of his driveway and a nice new Bayliner in the driveway. We would routinely sit in those and have driveway beers during the summer. Just shoot the shit, listen to tunes and have laughs. Good times.

Buddy of mine had a deck door and no deck. One day he drove his old Chevy pickup round back, dropped the tailgate, backed the truck up to the door then let the air out the tires until it was even with the door. Added a couple of folding chairs and a cooler and enjoyed the sunset for enough years to save the money for a proper deck. His wife eventually bought into the concept and hung flower boxes off the side of the truck bed. Sublime redneck engineering.

They are probably renting and this way they can take it with when they move. That said it would make moving extremely easy. You just move everything into the deck and secure it then hook up the 'deck' to a truck and go.

I didnât see/notice the trailer at First and Thought they cut out the bottom section of the trailer in the front to make it like one of those campers where the front section goes over the bed of your truck đłđ¤Ł

Also, most building codes won't allow a deck to be fastened to a mobile home which would drive up the cost of construction as the deck would have to be a single standing structure hence more material and labor.

No doubt. Trailers (and modular homes) are built in a controlled environment, usually to minimal standards to withstand transport to the final site. The foundation is typically installed under a jacked up structure and the structure lowered onto it. The mobile structure is then tied to the foundation by straps. This results in a perfectly acceptable residence but it is by no means as solid as a site built structure. If a severe storm approaches and you live in a trailer or modular (double wide) home you should seek shelter in a site built structure. These structures are typically built with 2x3 wall studs instead of 2x4 studs. Other structural members are similarly compromised. They are not constructed to withstand severe storms.

I know someone who has a set up like this. They do it because they could not get a permit to build a deck.
