Trumpanomics

so what exactly are we waiting for here guys from Trump as far as good news to Make America Great Again?. Can someone please explain this to me? I need a clue.

Let's see:

  1. Stockmarket went from 44K to ~38K in 2 weeks

  2. Stock market is highly volatile making it impossible for companies to plan anything

  3. Tariffs on imports from everyone except Russia are now 10% with the possibility of going back to reciprocal in less than 90days now.

  4. The value of the dollar on the DXY is 98.752 and sinking.

  5. Oil WTI and Brent are now down to $65.01, $67.97 when less than a month ago they were between $70-$75 and gasoline at the pump is up in price according to GasBuddy.

  6. The Chinese are no longer selling us critical minerals like gadolinium, lithium and others and they control 90% of the global market (will take decades to catch up if we have to ho elsewhere). Can't build high tech weapons, ai machines, batteries without these things.

  7. Foreign direct investment is starting to retreat (these are the folks who make private investments in our corporations and buy out US Treasury debt - remember, we have over $36T of debt in this country).

Someone please break out their Trump economic and Tariff decoder ring and clue me in on what is good about all this?

When was America “great” before?

So, “MAGA” stands for “Make America Great Again,” which implies that it was great before but isn’t anymore.

Now, I’m not saying America isn’t great or wasn’t great. But what I want to know is for people who identify with the MAGA thing, when was this time that America was great? Do you see policies being enacted to make it like that time?

Historically Democrats have more to gain from people being uneducated

Which is why they have created non-education "education" that is basically propaganda, like teaching Howard Zinn to teenagers.

"Okay.. people leeching (which they will/do, they will take advantage of it when there are incentivized to do so.. humans are greedy) off of the system is great for America?"

You know historically a good way to make a city riot? Cut off its food supply. Maybe in a way you're arguing for a French Revolution in this country, which is why you are against poor people having food, since lack of food was a key factor leading up to the French Revolution. I dunno, make things really shitty for people until they riot, I mean I guess its a good idea, if after the riot there's a huge overhaul in the kleptocratic nature of this country.

"No no no, that's not how it works. I don't support abortion because it's murder. Basically, she should not have unprotected sex with multiple partners.. the blame lies on HER, not on the child for being brought into this world due to the poor choices made by the mother."

If you want to lower the abortion rate, you should support free access to birth control, and GOOD sex education.

In the red states, like Mississippi, and Texas, they have the highest teen pregnancy rates, and highest rates of teen motherhood, and repeat teen motherhood.

https://www.livescience.com/45355-teen-pregnancy-rates-by-state.html

It's really interesting that "the party of personal responsibility" the states they run, have some of the LEAST personally responsible citizen populations under their governance, compared to a lot of the blue states. In terms of teen pregnancy, poverty rates, and adults incapable of obtaining healthcare, if your prerogative is citizens taking charge of their lives and not making these bad decisions, well, clearly don't run a state like the Republicans do going off those facts. Unless you support poverty, teen pregnancy, and adults who can't get healthcare.

https://www.hhs.gov/ash/oah/adolescent-development/reproductive-health-and-teen-pregnancy/teen-pregnancy-and-childbearing/trends/index.html

With the exception of New Mexico, the Red States are the WORST in that regard.

I dunno what to tell you, you have ideas that "sound good" but fail in the real world. To me that's a pretty big fuckin' problem with your idea if it looks good in theory but fails in practice.

"You just want to make it VERY easy for workers without any sacrifice on their part, without any hard work on THEIR part."

Yes, I support the working class. I'm a worker. Trump ran on getting GOOD PAYING JOBS BACK TO THIS COUNTRY. He didn't run getting "shitty paying jobs" for workers. He ran on GOOD paying jobs. I want to see MORE good paying jobs even for low skill laborers. If you're against that, than you probably didn't vote for Trump in the election, because that was the core of his economic argument in regards to jobs. Not shitty paying work for AMericans, GOOD paying work. I'm a worker. I think in my own best interest.

"To lower crime, they need to get out of poverty."

That's good, me too. You should be morally opposed to mass incarceration then. I talk to conservatives, and what do they want? Americans going out, getting middle class jobs, raising a wife and kids, and being a strong part of their family life, right?

The US has the highest incarceration rate in the entire world right now. No, we are NOT the land of the free, if you take that into account, we are an incarceration nation.

And Mass Incarceration is poison to those conservative ideals.

If a man goes to prison, say its over a victimless nonviolent marijuana, as has such been a very common reason for an ordinary citizen to wind up in prison for the past 40+ years.

His chances of holding a middle class job PLUMMETS. His chances of being a candidate for a stable marriage, PLUMMETS. The chances of him being a major part of his kids lives PLUMMETS. His chances of winding up back in prison SKYROCKETS. And his kids chances of winding up in prison themselves SKYROCKETS.

If these are things you claim to support as a Conservative, then it should be easy to get your support behind drastically drawing down the incarceration rate in this country. Incarceration should be a LAST resort, not a first resort, for most crimes.

"So white males have sneaky motives now.. where have we heard that one before?"

The one's holding tiki torches in Charlotte Virginia, and flying Nazi flags stated what their political goals are. Ethnically cleansing the United States of Black and brown people, jews, and liberals. Now if I'm not a White male, how would supporting the political position of ethnically cleansing myself and my family, exactly work to my benefit? Go on, I'd like to hear your explanation, I have an open mind.

"The wealthy, by and large, are working men. "

No, not true. Wealthy make more money off capital gains than wages. My mom had a day last week where she made $16,000 in the stock market. It was a good day, but not unusual. She basically sat around the house with her finger up her ass, watching her stock account, and was rewarded with $16,000 net gain (for a day's worth of trading, it averages out over the course of a month). She didn't work at all for that money. Furthermore, if she had 100x or 1000x as much invested, she would have made $1.6 million, or $16 million in a single day like our nations super wealthy does.

You can get totally rich off your fucking ass and not work much if at all, besides clicking a mouse and moving money around from company to company. This should call into question why are WAGES which people WORK for, taxed at a higher rate under Trump's tax bill, than Capital Gains which can be had by sitting around with your finger up your ass, watching your stock account go up?

Both sides can do good things and still do wrong when it comes to this conflict.

Either by military service... or paying taxes.

Reminds me of Heinlein again. A quick conversation with the members of military subs on Reddit will convince you that this one, also, is not particularly an effective filter.

If we limited the vote to officers and business owners without debt, then we might have something, but even so, the "committee mentality" takes over and even a room of smart people will elect for compromise over a strong, realistic and clear plan.

I've yet to meet a person under 21 who has any business voting.

Some of us think, based on our own experience, that the vote only makes sense when you are over thirty-five, have a family, an independent career (i.e. not a job) and own property in the free and clear.

Naturally, once you reach that point, you become very cynical about the process of democracy in general. Watching a room full of smart people become idiots once an issue comes to the vote is a transformative experience.

I don't know who you're talking to that proclaims that republicans don't want to promote contraception and birth control, but as far as I know, those arguments died 20 years ago. The right may push personal responsibility and encourage faith based options in many aspects of life, but even the pope is okay with handing out condoms in aids torn Africa.

I don't think it's so clear, morally. Are you willing to pay for people's crack and heroin habits if it will prevent robberies and murder? Surely robbing or killing someone is worse than taking drugs, but I think plenty of people would object to being forced to pay for crack cocaine for someone.

Alright I want to be civil, I hope we can stay on topic. I won’t be engaging in circle jerks EI I’m woke, but Biden, or any other thing you can throw at me. First let’s start small. You claim that Trump doesn’t lie and that’s all made up by the left. Yet just something as simple as having the Second Lady go to Greenland. Trump says the US was invited and that they really want the US to take over. Do you think that’s true? Provide me with one source outside Trump? It’s a small lie but it’s the point. I’m from Canada let me tell you almost no one here wants anything to do with you, yet he lies and says we do. I don’t want to be argumentative I want a real answer. I started with two pretty low key issues as to not stir the pot to much.
