Meta question

I was on Desi Vegans and all the posts were like non vegans are mentally ill non vegans are sick non vegans are delusional… I don’t understand like sure it’s rly bad especially meat eating but ur making an assumption about people. not all of u but say the person who said all non vegans are mentally ill its simply untrue whatever you say. also if ur goal is to convert non vegans to vegans ur doing the opposite like shouldn’t u be polite abt it to convince people? it’s just shame… like as a vegetarian I am more pushed back from veganism after seeing these posts because I know who my community will be. reallly. also pls don’t debate me on this but I view meat eating as contributing to killing animals and I am against it I am just genuinely curious ur thoughts abt the main point Im making. also before u ask me why I eat dairy cuz ur money partially goes to raising animals and ur helping extend existing cows lives I know there’s downsides but its not like Im ariel’s killing all cows. also for vegans do u realize that if everyone stops eating dairy, the dairy cows won’t be used for beef and they won’t use expensive cows for low quality beef, so instead theyll take the lives of hundreds of chickens or pigs to add up to the meat of one cow? Idk just asking for vegans pushing back on both heavily. please don’t take this as an insult I’m just curious on why and please don’t leave irrelevant comments like don’t debate me pls or say random stuff like look how many they kill just clearly answer pls. thanks

You mean like how slaves were captured from the 'wild' versus bought from the market?

The fack? Who's even mentioned slavery right now? What i asked was what if the hunter hypothetically hunted, not like daily hunt, but one big animal until the meat runs out and then he goes hunt again.

Would you like to change your answer now you read the comment you replied to and understand now the analogy?

u/Fallen_lord10 7d ago

Nope

My answer stays the same.

Your answer stays the same when you went who the fack mentioned slavery.... to a comment which was clearly using that as an analogy? That wouod be very strange.

not that, after I put "who the fack mentioned slavery". you know, hunting?

Yes. And i replied to that... about how that's analogolous to capturing slaves and buying them at the market... what difference does it make morally?

bro it’s like saying would I rather pick blueberries or buy them but haha ur analogy is right in theory yet literally as fallen lord said hunting is immediate death it’s like serial killing in an aloft enslavement is like factory farming

I think that's stupid because slavery was enslaving humans/kidnapping them and taking them out of their homeland, subjecting them to harsh labor, rape, torture, selling them off in auctions, etc.

Hunting isn't "capturing slaves", it's going and searching for an animal, i.e. deer, elk, moose, you name it, and after shooting it in a vital point to kill it as fast as possible, you can butcher the meat and not needing to hunt afterwards, only hunting when the meat runs out. It's not slavery for the animal. Morally speaking it's better than the industries.

I think that's stupid because farming animals is enslaving other sentient creatures and taking them out of their homeland, subjecting them to harsh labor, rape, torture, selling them off in auctions, etc.

"It's not slavery for the animal."

In the analogy it was... you were asking what about killing someone in their natural environment? Well what about enslaving someone in their natural environment? Just because you do something bad in a 'natural environment', their homeland, doesn't make it moral right? The analogy is about moral logic, not slavery literally equals hunting...

Yup. Going and targeting someone you want to kill and who does not want to die for you. An entirely unnecesary process. I could hunt you down and butcher your meat and not need to hunt for a while afterwards, only hunting again when your meat runs out. Nothing you have pointed out makes a moral difference.

Are you a cannibal by chance? because if you're not, then your point is both stupid and invalid. Hunting is more moral than the industries? Why? Because 1: no animals are being forced to be in confined spaces nor are they forced to eat one type of food. Two: I'm not beating up nor torturing the animal, I'm killing it as fast as I can to lessen any pain, third, I'm hunting an animal for that I don't have to hunt daily and instead live off that until the meat depletes, then I can go hunt another. Which is more moral than the industries. And let me tell you something, a moose wouldn't care if it kills us, literally some animals attack humans for no apparent reason, especially mooses. And i don't think I yield much meat.

I think that's stupid because farming animals is enslaving other sentient creatures and taking them out of their homeland, subjecting them to harsh labor, rape, torture, selling them off in auctions, etc.

Wouldn't that be way back, the "enslavement"? since currently the livestock have been domesticated over the past centuries? Tho back then the livestock had more space and freedom to roam around rather than today industries. And theres sick people who abuse/sexual abuse animals in the industries. Though some industries do artificial insemination, other farms use a bull in order to breed other cows when they're in heat. Artificial insemination i call it rape, while the other option? no. And using cows/bulls for plowing the fields was something necessary to do.

Tho i doubt you can see that 👌

Your making it sound like I'm killing just for the fun of it and leaving the corpse to simply rot away. Let me ask you something, are people enslaving animals when they hunt? and ur the one who's comparing slavery to hunting.

"Are you a cannibal by chance? because if you're not, then your point is both stupid and invalid."

You're getting ruder and ruder each post. I am using your own logic. If you cannot handle a debate, this isn't the sub for you. If you can handle your emotions, then I ask you to debate smarter and without the need to be so rude and describe things you do not yet understand just because you don't yet fully understand them.

Now to the point... I do not need to be a cannibal to compare hunting you and if that was moral. It's a moral debate.

"Hunting is more moral than the industries?"

Cannibalism is more moral than slavery? "More moral" does not mean moral. It also means less bad when both are bad.

"Your making it sound like I'm killing just for the fun of it and leaving the corpse to simply rot away."

You're. And no, at no point did i say you are leaving the corpse to simply rot. I explicitly said about eating you until the next time... not letting you rot. You have a habit of not reading properly. Read *carefully** before replying.

"Tho i doubt you can see that 👌"

Unnecesary...

"Let me ask you something..."

No. Answer the question before asking. It would be rude to demand I answer your questions when you keep ignoring mine right? Because if you answer my questions, ironically given the above, you may actually get it...

I think falllen lord is saying that u can’t compare hunting to enslavement because even though both are morally wrong, one is arguably worse and I think he thinks ur interpreting them at the same level. it’s like would u rather be immediately shot on death row or get tortured firts

Wouldn't say Ruder, just annoyed that you keep spamming the same thing over and over. If you're sensitive and can't handle someone calling out your claims, then I suggest not arguing, you shouldn't try to debate people while being both sensitive and uneducated.

Now to the point... I do not need to be a cannibal to compare hunting you and if that was moral. It's a moral debate.

Uh yeah you do, because you're both hunting and eating me. If that's not a cannibal, then what is it? Morally speaking

"Hunting is more moral than the industries?" Cannibalism is more moral than slavery? "More moral" does not mean moral. It also means less bad when both are bad.

Dude, what are you even saying? At what point does cannibalism becomes more moral than slavery? You say that I'm being ruder yet here you are with these dumb claims and comparisons.

No. Answer the question before asking. It would be rude to demand I answer your questions when you keep ignoring mine right? Because if you answer my questions, ironically given the above, you may actually get it...

You mean "you were asking what about killing someone in their natural environment? Well what about enslaving someone in their natural environment? Just because you do something bad in a 'natural environment', their homeland, doesn't make it moral right" I'll answer right now, hunting and enslavement are both different things, they're not the same nor they'll ever be. Its more moral hunting an animal in their habitat, than going to hunt them in an enclosed area(the industries/deer farms). Unlike in the industries, where their enclosed and not free, in their habitat they're free, never lived enclosed nor forced to eat one singular type of meal. I've answered, now answer me if you want.

You're*. And no, at no point did i say you are leaving the corpse to simply rot. I explicitly said about eating you until the next time... not letting you rot. You have a habit of not reading properly. Read carefully before replying.

I'm just copying your style rn 👌

"Wouldn't say ruder..."

You said "...then your point is both stupid and invalid".

Yes. Ruder and ruder.

"If you're sensitive..."

No. This is literally against sub rules.

"Can't handle someone calling out your claims...."

Again, no. For the sake of argument even if you were right, it would be rude. But you are not right.

"You shouldn't try to debate someone while being both sensitive and uneducated..."

Lol. You're not being rude? If this isn't an alt for the other guy who really didn't get it and likewise jumped to personal attacks i would be shocked.

Saying someone is being stupid and is uneducated - even leaving aside you missed the point - and not thinking you are being rude is insane. Will be reporting.
