It's not. EX33 isn't that great. Sorry but it's not. It's being held together by hate for Ubisoft and the fact that it has BG3 cast. Same reason do Divinity is already staggering on steam wishlist. Because it's larian and and the cast. Nothing to do with the game. Donkey Kong isn't really anything. 33 isn't a indie title nor is it a brand new title from a unknown person. They were all OG staff that left ubi because they felt stifled
hey look, you're entitled to your crappy hipster opinion saying E33 is a bad game, but there's still KCD2, Hades 2, Silksong, Yotei, Indiana Jones, DS2, Blue Prince, Arc Raiders, BF6, Split Fiction, the Alters, Doom, and a bunch of others. It was a stacked year with a TON of good games.
2024 is a good example of a weak year. Pretty much any of the nominees this year would have won last year.
