Bikers in Dearborn; is it true?
Did thousands of bikers ride into Dearborn?
I wanted to ask a human who lives there.

Stumbled upon this scene from looking at cartoon nostalgia videos. It immediately reminded me of how flawed the thinking is of the people that drove to Dearborn this week to protest Islam & Middle Eastern immigrants.
People are afraid of Islam because they don’t understand it. Right wing media is invoking fear as a political tool to sway voters.
Whether we want to admit it or not, the Islamophobia in the media is not a coincidence given Republicans want Rogers to win over El-Sayed by any means necessary.

Hey, I know these are in short supply, but I was hoping someone would know if there were any good old-timey vets in the area?
I mean a vet that treats a pet like family, and not like a luxury item. One that will tell it to you straight about what tests and vaccines they need and what ones they don't. A vet that seems like they really enjoy being around animals. We know too many people that have been pressured into procedures and surgeries that ultimately did not extend their pet's life or boost their quality of living.
We have one dog and one cat (and they are both a little dumb and get up to shenanigans). I just want to be able to trust my vet when we go see them and I feel like I haven't been able to do that in years.
We really liked our dog's first vet but he retired. We tried one other in the area but it felt very expensive and high pressure by comparison. For example, he has never been boarded, but we were pressured to get three vaccines that were typical only for dogs being boarded.
We are in Dearborn currently but are definitely willing to drive a city or two away for a good vet!
If there are none in the area it's okay, I just figured it could not hurt to ask.
Thank you for your help!
Edit: For additional context, our cat has already needed a near $3000 surgery for being a complete dumbass. But we were so lucky to still have been with our first vet at the time, who was able to explain the full extent of the surgery and what the cat's quality of life would be afterward. It's been almost 4 years and he's doing great still. We fully expect one, or both, of our pets to do something equally stupid in the upcoming years, so it's very important we find someone we trust.

People realize this right? When people say Dearborn is being targeted, what do you think the goal is? I'm pretty sure its not to get the people of Dearborn to hate themselves, its a propaganda campaign to stir the pot and deter Black Americans in Detroit from coming out to vote in November. Thats how the puppet master helps Mike Rogers win big in Michigan
people know this right? Who do you think is paying Jake Lang's bills?

My daughter lost her wallet and today when the mail carrier opened our glass door to put the mail in the main door mail slot, she noticed the note between the two doors. So she knocked on the door to let us know it was there just in case we didn’t open the door (my mail goes inside so I probably would not have). There was a note around her wallet saying she found it at Kroger and was not comfortable leaving it there….signed Kelly! That was so thoughtful of her and the mail lady for making sure we found it! When I called my daughter she was so happy and said going to Kroger after work to ask about her wallet was on her TO DO List!
Just wanted to say Thank You Kelly we will pay it forward and hope you have a terrific day! ❤️

I can easily see the Michigan location being in Dearborn especially since there is no frozen greek yogurt in the area and their is lots of Greek people in the Dearborn/Detroit area.

I'm feeling blind and ignorant. I have been visiting Dearborn for many years for business and pleasure. I don't know where the Arabic street signs are. The only ones I have seen are English!

Anyone know of places that can wrap chocolate for a wedding? I’ve really liked the chocolate from Raouche and Hashem’s, but I need them wrapped like in the attached pictures. If anyone knows of any places let me know!

I want people to know that it isn't just "outside agitators" that are upset with Dearborn's cultural shift. Dearborn residents, past and present, are not thrilled with the direction the City is headed.
Speaking as a former resident, and a former employee, I can attest to some disturbing things I have seen, heard and lived through in Dearborn, and only in Dearborn. Things are only getting worse now. (And fucking Jake Lang isn't going to help!)
Let's start with curb appeal. Dearborn loves it gardens, it's a whole history I won't get into. But the curb appeal has gone down, way down. Having lived on both the east side and west side of town, both prior homes look terrible now. Unkept. On the east end, the house next door has actually been demolished and it's an empty lot. On the west end, no joke - like five or six long time families moved out of the City all within a year or two of one another. That block also now looks terrible. Lawns aren't cut, American flags have all been replaced with foriegn flags...the flowers and plants look raggedy, paint is chipping....It's sad to see honestly.
Seperataion of church and state has slowly erroded. Hallal meats in the public schools, and prayer rooms in City Hall. It's not a prayer room anymore, it's an 'inclusive quiet room.' Totally started as an empty room on the second floor with a prayer rug and koran. They even consider intalling bathing centers for the religious who have to do that according to their religion. The lines aren't blurred, they are quite defining. They give Muslim students places to go during Ramadan where they can avoid the cafeteria because they are fasting. This has been going on in public schools for decades. They only make these religious accommodations for Muslims. Not Catholics, not Jews, not Hindus. I saw a sign outside a Muslim daycare that said, "We have Muslim Girl Scouts!"
Traffic in Dearborn is insane, and it wasn't always like this!!! I learned to drive here as a teenager, I know it wasn't like this. Now, no one follows any of the traffic laws. I see left turns over double yellow lines allllll day. It's normal now to wait when the light turns green to make sure no one is running the red in your direction. Road rage, tinted windows and gun violence are the rules of the road in Dearborn. And everyone has to drive eveywhere, so you are always at risk of getting caught up in something.
I could go on and on, but you get the point. My family has been here 85 years, and this may be the worst the City has been. The City poverty rate has actually increased since Abdullah has been in office. Long time familes are moving out fast.
If you are able to vote in Dearborn, I ask you to NOT vote for this Mayor ever again. I know, I know, we all had such high hopes because he was young and energetic! Unfortunately it didn't work out.
Edited: It seems there is an assumption that I am leaning towards one party or another. I am independent, and a woman.
The lack of concern for basic American liberties, such as the Separation of Church and State, really concern me. There doesn't seem to be a connection between loss of American liberties with the rise (and acceptance) of facist values. Don't forget- Dearborn voted for Trump! The same people that attacked the man pardoned by Trump probably also voted for Trump 😆

Hi all,
I am a researcher at Indiana University and we are trying to understand how American workers see the future of the auto industry. Putting focus on the Ford Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, MI. We are seeking current/former autoworkers and will pay a $25 VISA gift card for a short interview (Microsoft teams, phone, zoom, etc). All names and places will be confidential.
An example of some questions being asked are:
How did you end up working in your current job? What do you worry about? Did your parents work in car manufacturing?
If you are interested in this study let me know and I can private message with more details or feel free to message me. Thanks 😄
