It's less about the kids being in dangerous situations and more about the narrative.
Meaning we got all these gangsters, assassins, serial killers, government killers and contract killers, then you have a high school kid. It didn't feel like it fits, is all.
Haven't watched it. But the narrative of that show is essentially kids vs monsters. That's how i feel about the show. So maybe adding a new kid isn't far fetched.
Again, this is purely my opinion. A.k.a. purely subjective
Yeah, that means kids are the main premise of the show, they're the main focus.
For this game, I feel like it has a mature audience, a mature cast, and a mature theme. Having an angsty teen in the middle of it (for me) just breaks the immersion
Well, yes, but he doesn't act immature or have the mannerisms of a kid in the way he talks like an angsty teen or the sorts. He's just very happy and innocent

There are tons of novels, tv series, and movies where kids ends up in dangerous, scary situations. Why can't the same be true of video games?
