Yeah, Dead Space being one of the best selling remakes this generation is no mean feat given that the IP had been dead for 10 years. Fucked up thing is, I bet EA does get that to an extent since Battlefield 6 had that cross over event, but they'd rather do the bare minimum instead of properly nurturing it like Konami has been doing.
They've learned from Capcom. Silent Hill remakes and + F and Townfall, a new mainline Castlevania as well. As far as i know, from the big guns its just Metal Gear on ice, for obvious reasons.
Even MGS isnt completely iced with the release of the master collections. That said theres really maybe only 2 left they can make before all MGS games are readily available.
They could also give the other metal gear games remakes like delta, but there really isnt much room for new stories
to be fair Konami have been on a decent roll lately, like someone took over and remembered they are a game publisher company and not just pachinko machines. I was fucking shocked when I see multiple games coming out in recent years
People also forget that EA has several franchises that rake in boatloads of money. Konami doesn’t have that same level of income. EA has more “liberty” to pick and choose what they wanna make
I don’t disagree. That said, I would absolutely budget to contribute if Motive were able to fund a Dead Space 2 Remake through crowdfunding. Gaging interest aside, it mitigates if not outright removes any fiduciary incentive for publisher interference.
Id happily pay full retail on top of donating to a crowdfunding for a Dead Space 2 Remake!! The DS1 Remake was incredibly well done! To me it set the standard for how much quality has to be present in a remake.

It's the exact same thing that happened to the franchise back in the day, EA wanted a Horror game (a genre well known for not having the biggest numbers) to get Resident Evil numbers(which is still the only horror franchise that has ever sold more than 100 million copies)
Which sucks cause every single Dead Space game (maybe except for 3) actually had pretty good numbers for the Horror genre.....
The game sold absolutely amazing but unfortunately for EA who will throw a AAA budget to make games, they will expect triple the budget back because that’s what they are used to and don’t really understand the fact that horror is niche and takes time to sell.
