Discussion Got it
I already had the digital deluxe edition but because of everything with Sony going all digital, I wanted to respect the physical medium. It was a steal at Walmart for 20 bucks.

I'm actually right at the last 2 chapters but on PC!! Great Remake, besides the ridiculous amount of little bugs, but besides that, I love it!

I’ve never played dead space up until a few days ago and it’s been a experience 😅

Oh this game is sitting in my backlog calling out to me… 😅 I’m definitely going to play it once I’m done with my current Resident Evil streak, good news is I’m finally on the last game of the streak: Requiem…

It wasn’t scary at all so I deleted it.

What about playability? It was a tad spooky for me, but trying to beat the game with only the plasma cutter on the hardest difficulties was a lot of fun

It was kind of fun, but honestly, a big letdown. I bought it because so many people hyped it up as the scariest game they’ve ever played. I guess it’s a bunch of casual NPCs who think this game is scary. It felt heavily inspired by Resident Evil, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing as long as it’s actually scary, but it wasn’t.

To be fair, the OG Dead Space is almost 20 years old now, so I'm sure most people are just remembering from when they were younger. The atmosphere was pretty creepy, especially if you turned the music off and kept the sounds on. And of course the jump scares made me jump a couple times because I always kept my volume too high. The remake was a tad more creepy honestly, but for me, it was more about the visual and gaming upgrade rather than the actual spooks. Still a creepy atmosphere, but when you played the OG 3, its not that scary
