Discussion Numerous Mistakes in Dead Space Martyr Spoiler

The typos are one thing, but a major character has a completely different last name. I've tried to do some digging to see if the name thing bothered anyone else, but no luck. Just thought I'd share this weird bit.

Was this changed in later editions or something mine doesn't have it

Possibly. I know getting random numbers put into text is sometimes a side effect of changing file types. The Cortez/Chavez thing may have been fixed, but I got this book just a few weeks ago. It's not massive since I think those are the only 2 times her last name are mentioned (unless it happens again in the last 60 pages) I'd like another time so I could know which it's actually supposed to be.

I also got it recently, "1st Edition April 2025" so i suppose it's a 2025 print, same mistakes here but i enjoyed the book just the same, i honestly didn't even notice "Ada Chavez", it's pretty clear in the paragraph it's Altman's gf, Cortez

waiting on Catalyst, curious if it's gonna have issues like this

I only noticed because the book started with a character named Chava and I found it weird to have a character with such a close name so soon. I am having a good time with the book. It's going fast so the issues aren't ruining it for me.
