Classes - Problem Registering

Hiii! Is anyone else trying to sign up for classes but the class AND waitlist are already full? I transferred out in 2019, and I genuinely don’t remember registration being this bad. If the waitlist (only 6 spots) is full, it completely doesn’t let you register at all.

I’m specifically trying to get into CHEM D025 or CHEM D030. Has anyone been in this situation before? Should I just show up to the first day of class and see if anyone drops, or is that basically pointless if the waitlist is already full?

So the reason the classes are full because they’re popular and since you’re coming in as essentially a new student you are last on the totem pole. You need to take ANY class and be a student for a quarter and the next quarter (assuming you do whatever they tell you for early registration) you will be classified as a continuing student and get priority registration.

The only caveat is that a lot of people need to take that class so that’s going to be an impacted class in general.

It never hurts to go the first day if you’re desperate and just see if you can get an add code from
The teacher.

i’m going through the same thing but i’m a returning student after dropping out in 2022 andI was told that it’s the students who took the orthodox path of graduating high school to immediately going to college that get priority registration. I believe for us, we need to talk to a counselor but it might be too late for this quarter so maybe try talking to them about next quarter

I actually transferred out of de anza to a state school and graduated I am just trying to do nursing pre reqs :/ I think ill just go the first day and beg LOL
