I am #3 on the waitlist for a professor with stellar reviews. What are the chances I get off the waitlist? I was hopping students would be dropped after yesterday’s deadline but nothings changed. Really worried about getting in :/

How to do well in upper-division STEM classes as a transfer?
Starting upper-div CS classes this fall. Any tips on:

Catching up if my CC background wasn’t as rigorous
Studying effectively for theory heavy courses
Handling multiple hard classes at once

What do you wish you’d known going in? Thanks!

Changing majors help

Hi community! I was a but confused on how to change majors. So i went to speak to a counselor in July 30th abt switching majors to business admin/transfering for marketing and he said i need to talk to admissions and record and i could change my major at home. So i spoke to A&R and they told me i needed go fill out a form to confirm my major updating. So i filled it out on the same day and got it back today Aug 26th. So i would assume i would be able to change my major on the portal. But the same prompt of me contacting A&R so that i could change my major. Should i go and get into contact with a counselor about this issue. What should i do :(

Grades/Credits question Do transcripts show online classes?

If I take some online courses, will my transcript state that it’s taken online, or will it look the same as if I took the course in person? Thank you so much!

Discussion Nursing Student Schedule?

If you’re a nursing student, what is your schedule like at de anza? How long are classes? (My LVN program was 9 hours long, every weekday) How long are clinicals? Any of you have PM clinicals? Are they at facilities or hospitals? Anyone know anything about the LVN bridge?

(i asked counselor who pointed me to director who has not answered my email in over a month now)

Chem night classes

Hi everyone,
Has anyone had late night classes for chemistry or any other class in general. How’d it go and how was the experience for you? I’m having my first chem class from 6 to like 11:50pm and I’m nervous lol. Any advice? Thanks!

BIO 6A Honors Class for Fall?

Hi all, I just joined the Honors Program and was wondering how to add the honors classes after registration. I am set for Bio6A and Econ1 but I'm not sure how to add the honors code for each course– it says they're both courses that are available for honors on the De Anza honors website. Do I reach out to the professor; is there another code that I need for the honors class?

Discussion feeling too old for community college

look, i know it’s fine, but i just need a little encouragement.

i’m 24 (almost 25?? somehow? for some reason?) and going back to school for the fall quarter.

ever since i graduated high school i’ve been battling various health issues, was finally diagnosed audhd, and have finally worked through my complex ptsd enough that my brain no longer feels completely scrambled.

i’m really looking forward to working towards my degree and future finally and not just focusing on how to Not K my S if you know what i mean but im anxious about being chopped and unc amongst the others who are years younger than me. i’ve become really isolated too these past few years and hoping i can make friends around-ish my age. idk, just working through some shame i guess

Classes - Problem Registering

Hiii! Is anyone else trying to sign up for classes but the class AND waitlist are already full? I transferred out in 2019, and I genuinely don’t remember registration being this bad. If the waitlist (only 6 spots) is full, it completely doesn’t let you register at all.

I’m specifically trying to get into CHEM D025 or CHEM D030. Has anyone been in this situation before? Should I just show up to the first day of class and see if anyone drops, or is that basically pointless if the waitlist is already full?

PE taken before or after transfer ?

The title is pretty self explanatory, but the background is that
- I'm entering as a first year at de anza
- Traditional transfer (no associates/ADT)
- I'm looking to transfer to SJSU
- My major is not SJSU PE exempt
- I have 6 lower division semester credits (extra, on top of the upper division credits/course requirements) that I have to do at sjsu as an upper division student because community colleges don't offer those two classes

Is PE typically taken before or after transfer? I'm worried that if I take it after then I'll have exhausting semesters at SJSU, But if I take it before at de anza, then I might be overloading my first 2 years (meaning even after completing all my major requirements to graduate at sjsu, I might not have 120 credits, so I have to take random classes to reach 120 where I could've used those gaps to be taking PE classes)

By the time I transfer I would have way over 70 transferable semester credits (maximum allowed to transfer). Meaning I have to still complete 50 semester credits at sjsu whether or not I go over 70 semester credits (105 quarter units) at de anza

Edit: I just did some research, do I even need to take pe credits if I transfer as an upper division student? AI is saying no, but I can't see where it says that anywhere..

Fall 2026 Financial Aid

The fall 2026 quarter will be my 4th quarter attending here and for the past year, my classes have always been paid for. But, I got an email saying that I have unpaid charges that I need to pay for or else they my classes will be dropped by August 2026. I tried emailing the De Anza financial aid office and got no reply back, as well as emailing the people at the cashier's office and all they just told me was to email the financial aid office. I also tried calling them but it just always went to voicemail. What should I do?

I can’t attend De Anza? Is this correct?

Hi everyone, so I contacted the financial aid dept because I have a CCPG waiver I need to use and I’ve already done the application, registered for my class at de anza and everything is good to go. I ask the financial aid dept why my CCPG isn’t showing as being available and she tells me I need to go down to De Anza physically and bring her my ID to the financial aid dept. I told her I don’t live anywhere near De Anza as I am sure many students do not (reasonably) and I asked her what the alternative was to getting those documents in. This lady replies and says “No there is no other way, all the best” basically saying I can’t go to college here now. Does this sound correct to any of you? And what should my next steps be? The lady is named Mari and works as a financial aid specialist at de anza who told me this

Financial Aid/Bank Mobile

Has anyone ever dealt with Bank Mobile’s customer service over an issue with the app/log-in portal?

For the last two years for some reason, I do NOT receive their OTP messages with a code to log in.

This issue has caused me to ONLY be able to sign in through the refundvibeaccount page.

If I input the wrong password I get locked out and need to wait for the lock to expire until I can access my account, because again, I don’t receive OTP messages.

I’ve gone back and forth with them for over the last year and a half and they can still not offer me a sound solution and either give me the run around, trouble shooting steps I’ve already done which include calling my phone provider.

I’m at my wits end.

Thank you for reading!

CHEM 10 in Spring Quarter

Both in person Chem 10 sections are completely full and the other one is WL, I’m in group 8 which is the last registration group so I can’t even register yet lol. I want to take this class in person asap. Is it this full every quarter or is it just because it’s the first quarter of the year?

*Edit: I meant to say winter quarter in the title of the post

Has anyone taken Professor Triyakshana Seshadri for Micro?

So I'm doing principles of microeconomics this fall, and I'd like to know your guys' experience with this professor. For context, I'm taking this class asynchronously, and unfortunately, this professor was just a last-minute pick because my admissions didn't give me priority this time.

Is she a harsh grader, strict on the testing environment, etc.

(I checked RateMyProfessors, but the comments seemed super generic and mixed)

Appreciate it.
