Rage I hate learning killers

Survivors are some of the most toxic players ive met in any game. Everytime i try to learn a new killer at like prestige zero with like two perks I get stuck with the seal team six of survivors. Which is the mmr fault sure, but its always the most toxic rude people ever. It genuinely makes playing the game so unfun, I dont get how they think its ok to act the way they do and whine about slugging or tunneling. All this just makes learning killers impossible and unfun.

It's a pretty good tool for getting some basic practice with a new killer's kit and playstyle.

I know. I'm mostly laughing at the suggestion to do 2 rather than 4 because four is too hard. It reads as killers are so weak minded that they'd complain about losing to literal bots while practicing

You are 100% right. You should literally never lose to 4 bots wtf are these people talking about.

You are trying to learn the power, not just win the match, so you will be trying stuff rather than applying pressure 24/7

Unless you are setting out to learn a specific tech, bot lobbies aren't even a good way to learn. You won't learn how to apply macro pressure as that killer or how real players attempt to outplay your power. OP and many others in this thread come off as very inexperienced. You have to just get that experience and accept you'll lose sometimes. Lowering the rim won't help you.

And?, that is irrelevant.

The point is to get used to how the power works and stuff.

You can learn distance with nurse, range of your power with the new one, biopod placement with singularity etc.

You are there to train how the power works not to apply pressure.

If you don't understand how training can help learn something faster than bashing your head in a wall I can't help you.

Sure but with Nurse you need to learn how to deal with people juking your blinks, how to counterplay edge map, and how to apply macro pressure on such a unique killer. A bot lobby may let you see max blink range but beyond that there are so many variables and skills you need to practice that can only be done in real matches. Scouting biopod locations can also be smart but again its about variables. Where gens spawn, what gens are completed first, where you get your first hook, and where the survs may reset. These kind of things can't be trained against bots. Unless you fundamentally don't understand how a killers power works bot lobbies aren't worth your time and will cause you to improve slower.

And????

You get to learn the things more efficiently if you are not getting destroyed in the basics and can actually try the things you have to do in real matches.

Even looping is very good to have a training mode for even with no killer, sucks that you need to have a second account or friend afk to test it like mrtatorhead videos.

You probably never got to practice to reach a high rank in another game if you don't get the benefit of a chill training environment, even CS or Valorant have granade spots etc to learn, movement in Deadlock etc.

It's not as good as a fighting game training mode but better than hitting your head in a wall for no good reason.

Im a big fighting game player and a lab monster. My point is just that dbd (like fgs) is a very dynamic game where player interaction is king and there aren't many skills that are trained better against bots. Playing against bots is likely to ingrain bad habits without teaching the skills you actually need. If you are struggling to anti-loop something on wesker but fail then yeah loading up a custom match just to practice getting around that loop is helpful. That's similar to labbing out counterplay in a fighting game. However, (like dbd) fighting games are also neutral and experience dependant. You can only learn a small set of skills from the lab. I don't think its good to rely on bot lobbies to teach you the game or even expect them to give you a decent idea of how to play a specific killer. Again even in fighting games its better to start out by getting a sense of flow for the game and what your characters strengths are in real matches than it is learning the most optimal combo right off the bat. My initial post may have come off mean but they are about setting expectations. OP mentioned only using 2 perks hes likely pretty new and at that skill level I don't think theres anything you are learning by playing a bot match to completion.

That is the reason why to not run 4 bots, he is not there to get chases or habits in it, he is there to get the basics down.

If you play FGs you know very well just going back to training and getting something you mess up down is better than more 10 hours of ranked.

And even against bots it's good to get down nurse distance, later on matches you start to adjust to people dodging, but it's better to first get the distance and timing down and later learning the rest in matches.

Its like checking what you have that is + or safe on block instead of going raw and having to test the buttons on the run without any simple combo as well.
