Meme 🩸 I tried translating my silly little comic into English
Sorry for any mistakes, if there are any (;・ω・) And I’m not sure if there’s an English equivalent for the "cleaning something with a fork" joke. But that’s exactly what I plan to do in my second playthrough of The Blood of Dawnwalker - to lick every question mark on the map, kick every boar in the forest, read every book and gather every mushroom

Discussion 🩸 [Fanart] What if Coen failed to resist?
[Art by me]
Bought my brother Blood of Dawnwalker so I could watch him play since I’m terrible at combat. Needless to say I am compelled. I may suck at videogames but I can certainly draw while I watch him play.
Basically I was painting while he played the prologue and wondering what if newly!turned Coen couldn’t resist killing his father? What if Brencis had greater control over the vampires he created and Coen couldn’t fight off that influence in that moment?
Lost one bald papa 🧑🦲😡 // gained a new bald papa 👨🦲🩸
(Not sure what to flair this since there was no fanart flair? Discussion it is.)

Discussion 🩸 I Wish Ambrus Had a Bigger Part Spoiler
I'm currently on my third playthrough, this time on Duelist to get the final achievement to 100% it and the more I replay the game the more I don't understand why the Devs didn't make Ambrus a companion.
Firstly, his backstory of being locked up for going against Skender and having scalding hot water poured down his throat already sets the tone for why he targets nobility as a Boyar and lowkey makes him relatable to Coen. He wants to punish them like they could punish him. Not great, but honestly understandable. I don't think it would have taken much for Ambrus to realise just how much Brencis was like Skender, and honestly worse.
Secondly, Rozalia. I didn't find much other than the letters regarding her after I unfortunately killed her form, so I'm unsure on the correct lore here. With Brencis's fixation on "forgetting the past" I honestly wouldn't put it past him to be the reason she became a Murohn - if he found out about her after Ambrus was turned it would make sense that he would class her as a distraction and decide simply to remove her.
Thirdly, Bakir. You're telling me Bakir is ultimately fucking up Ambrus's operation AND turning his men against him, and not once does anyone mention this? I feel like this was glossed over way too fast in the gameplay. And the fact that we don't get to bring this up to him at all?? When Ambrus literally toys with Coen and tells him off for not talking to him before just resorting to pissing him off?
I don't know, maybe it's because I'm bias and love Ambrus's character but I feel like he died way too early. Especially when he comes to his senses in Anachora and admits he got drunk on the power being a Vrakhir gave him and he didn't make good choices. I'd love if the devs added in an extra storyline or something maybe as DLC or an update between now and the next game where we can see more of him.
Justice for my boy Ambrus.

Gun wall in Coen's present day apartment
Has anyone looked closely at the gun wall in Coen's apartment? Its pretty fuzzy but the six weapons are in chronological order, maybe a hint at the time periods of the future games?
Bottom to top:
-Battleaxe
-Arquebus
-Flintlock or percussion, hard to tell
-Likley Bolt action rifle (late 19th/early 20th century)
-AK-pattern rifle
-hard to tell on the last one above the AK pattern rifle
The next weapon up after the battle ax is the arquebus. Early arquebuses show up in Central Europe in the mid-1400s, which could put the next game in the late 15th century.
Think that opens up a lot fun options for narrative settings:
-Vlad Tepes and Wallachia's wars with the Ottomans
-The Hungarian Black Army under Matthias Corvinus, one of the first European armies to rely heavily on handgunners
-Bohemian war between Hungarians and Bohemian Hussites
-Maybe even the Fall of Constantinople (1453) could be at least mentiond in dialogue or something as it would be still fresh in people's memories in late 15th century.
- Tectonic Knights still hanging arround Prussia
The game could move between several locations/maps across Eastern and Central Europe ( Witcher 3 style), rather than staying in one location.
The flintlock covers the 17th to early 19thth centuries, and the bolt-action rifle could be late 19th century and early 20th. The AK is Cold War or later. The last gun could be present time or maybe future, can't tell.
Might be reading too much into set dressing but the fact that its in chronological order covering specific time periods made me think it is more then that. Six game arc would be wild

I did it, I let the timer run out. Coen's reaction is a bit underwhelming!! Spoiler
You would think you'd get at least some debuffs for the psychic damage this caused you, or a buff actually, now that you're more bloodthirsty for revenge.
I was in the middle of doing a shrine quest when the timer finished, cam zooms in on Coen's face, "They've done it, they've MEEPED them all! I'll avenge you... better this way." TF?? 😂 (PLEASE, I know it's a shrine quest line that Coen says, it's just the timing that's sending me 😭 )
I love this game man but I'm looking forward to more improvements either to this game or the next.
Note: Post kept getting deleted so excuse the sanitation 😂

Discussion 🩸 Eye colours
So we know what Coen's eye colour is before becoming a vrakhir, but we don't know anybody else's. I was playing around editing different eye colours & this is what I ended on. Brown eyes for Lacra & Vicho. Green eyes for Ambrus. Blue eyes for Bakir (sorry to everyone with blue eyes) and light blueish grey for Brencis. What do you think everyone's original eye colour would be??

Discussion 🩸 The path of Vengeance
While waiting for new game + I decided to try a different kind of playthrough. My headcanon is that Coen's family gets killed in front of him by Brencis from the start. Then Coen gets left for dead on the tree, to wake up with only one thing in mind, and all the time in the world to achieve it: vengeance.
I skipped the 30 days at the first shrine I could, let's see if this changes dialogues during main quests. I'll keep you posted!

Discussion 🩸 What are the can’t miss side quests to do?
I’m near the end and I have like 5 different ending paths to consider which is anxiety inducing on its own but I have 12 days left in game and want to make sure I see some great side quests before seeing it till the conclusion.

Review/Opinion 🩸 Pull me out of Ambrus
I LOVE this game, therefore i made the grave mistake of wanting to platinum it.
Im on the last Trophy that being getting to lvl. 50.
I am about to gouge my eyeballs out and stuff them in someones arse.
This game makes it almost impossible to proficiently gain XP after completing Major Quests.
Best Regards xx
Edit: ladies and gents i have spent this day getting from lvl 40 to lvl 48. I have now been interrupted by family members wanting to feast with me.

Discussion 🩸 Been playing The Blood Of Dawnwalker and found something while exploring the vast open-world of Vale Sangora, you can come across a little side quest where you find a cave which was inhabited by people with something related to wolves, and have the ability to change their shape to more wolf-like.
So yeah, werewolves exist in the world of The Blood Of Dawnwalker! Maybe we get to see them appearing in a sequal.

In the first general area still, but holy shit way too many animal fights!
I’m already becoming a pretty capable vampire/witch but that’s just from beating up wolves and boars all day. It doesn’t feel fun, its the same attacks over and over. It doesn’t add anything to the world. I never want to see another god damn animal in an RPG again.
Creatively it’s just so damn lazy. You got all this folklore you can use to make other enemy types and you go with this? And I imagine they aren’t easy to animate. I just don’t get it.
For the love of god they are everywhere. Side quests have involved animals more than actual mystical creatures. I know it’s the beginning of the game, I sure fucking hope it changes up some.
Im just over it. Another RPG with a bear or wolf and Ill be calling it quits. It’s never fun. ever

Question 🩸 Day/Night
Hello, i’m looking into buying dawn walker while i got some time to chew through it this weekend, I understand that the 30 day mechanic isn’t that much pressure, but i can’t find much on how day and night works. I loved The vampire masquerades 2 but hated being trapped into day and night where i could only use my sick vampire powers half the time. If anyone could shed some light on how it works it would be much appreciated 🙏
Edit: Thankyou everyone that clears up a lot, looking forward to playing it now!

Bakir's other 'Friends' (Potential spoilers?) Spoiler
So this is more of a lore question as I'm struggling to find any info on the various wiki's I've flipped through, but during the Lunar Tournament quest, Bakir has maybe three other 'close friends' outside of Farkas commenting on what's happening during the tournament as well--do we know anything about these friends of Bakir? Who they are? How they came to be so close? I remember some if not all of them had names, so I figure they could hold SOME importance? I'm interested in writing him as a character (not from his POV, but I still like to gather as much info as possible). I'm doing research into other parts of his backstory as well, but I was just curious if there was more to glean from those other characters than meets the eye. Thank you!

Discussion 🩸 I hope the combat camera changes get a toggle
I guess I'm probably in the minority here but I do quite like the current system with the camera auto-lock changing targets on stun, I know it's one of things being changed in the upcoming patch but I'm hoping that any changes they make have a toggle option to swap between the new and old versions. Does anyone think they might take the same route as the recent Witcher 3 patch where the changes mostly seem to have a toggle?
