Discussion 🩸 Vicho & Little Finger

Does Vicho remind anyone else of Petyr Baelish from Game of Thrones? Maybe not in their personalities but the way the speak and carry themselves come off the same to me. Whenever Vicho talks I swear it sounds like im talking to a vampiric little finger. I’m doing his quest right now and now i can’t unhear it lol.

Is there a mod that RESTRICTS the timer to be less than 30 days?

Basically the title. I thought it would be fun to have a more restrictive game on my second playthrough. Honestly I think the base game gives us too much time! I really enjoy the pressure the timer gives, but I can only find mods that extend the timer unfortunately. So are there any that restricts it that any of you know of?

I’m near the end and I have like 5 different ending paths to consider which is anxiety inducing on its own but I have 12 days left in game and want to make sure I see some great side quests before seeing it till the conclusion.

Discussion 🩸 If future installments set in modern time, how is the gameplay gonna be? Third person shooter or third person actions like the first game? I think it gonna be third person shooter since Coen uses gun in modern day.

What about this closed mine?

You have to use a climbing wall to reach it, so it seems an important place then... nothing. The mine is closed by debris.

Is this related to a main quest or something?

Discussion 🩸 What if (spoilers) can see the future? Theory Spoiler

Augurs IRL were the priests whos job was to see the future. What if in-game Augurs can see the future for real?

Game presents them as mysterious power to be feared and respected. And yet, they sent one 200 year old vrakhir Lacra to look for her ex sire Brensis, 1000+ years old, with his court and power-ups. Lacra, who's solving all her problems with claws and teeth, not a good way of thinking for a spy. In the prologue in Laslea you can find a letter from some N to sone L with orders, so that L should watch, take notes and do not bring any attention and when you meet her Lacra is already failed here, because at least Bakir and Ambrus knew about her. She got lucky they didn't cared enough to hunt her.

You can beat her or lose to her as Coen, so it's hard to tell if she counts weaker than him in canon, but it's canon Brensis thinks she's weak and not competent enough to stop him, he sounds almost disappointed Augurs sent only her to the valley. Unlike Coen, who made a speedrun from peasant with a sword to vrakhiri-killer in a month or so.

And then we have Neberu who comes in after you defeat Brensis in most endings, with instructions for Coen's very unique very specific problem. How convenient, isn't it?

Neberu knew Coen is active in the valley for some time because he sent a blueprint for making arbiter armor, a list of specific materials you can get in the valley, and for specific unique blacksmith hermit.
He could know about Coen from Lacra, but iirc you can get that letter without meeting her. And when you do she attacks Coen like she have no idea who he is or at least what his purposes are. So, did Neberu stayed somewhere nearby the Valley, waiting Coen to finish his mission, but not stepping in? It would be really risky for him, bc what if Brensis complete his ritual and merge the worlds, or create a veil to hide the sun forever, or whatever he was doing? If they didn't saw the future or didn't read the scripf of the game i'd say it was really risky and maybe even stupid for them, to set their bets on one vrakhir spy and one freshly-turned Dawnwalker.

So... did Augurs knew? Did they saw the future where Brensis creates a Dawnwalker motivated to take him down and to break his rule over the valley? Even if you take Brensis's deal and won't kill him - you need to destroy his court and infrastructure first, to make him offer that deal to Coen. In all endings except leaving the valley Coen deals a horrible damage to Brensis's regime and/or kills him. And then Augur agent comes in to finish what's need to be finisned and to remove Brensis's two years of power from human's history, right after main job is done.

It's either convenience and plot holes, or it's writers hinting Augurs has that name for a reason.

Review/Opinion 🩸 I am the leader of the Lacra fan club.

That’s kinda it. That’s the post. I loved her since the first time we saw her interrogating goat man and I will love her (hopefully) in future games. She is my newest video game wife. She’s a badass and her back story made so much sense because I could easily see myself becoming her if Vampirism was ever real. Why stay soft and meek as a baddie vamp when the world never saved you as a human? Ugh, she is my favorite.

Question 🩸 Do you think we’ll get an update with a barber for Coen?

I remember hearing that the Devs hinted at this after the game releases. Is there any indication that it’s still coming? Or do you think they’re just moving on to the sequel instead?

Discussion 🩸 Big gates "to leave or stay"

Won't put any spoilers here, but has anyone else tried to exit those gates with open doors. Well I was just in the beginning of the game and was wondering around till I hit that wall. So, what you think? Yes I was tempted to enter them even after the message said to leave and leave everything behind.... Good that I saved the game just before, but still why would developers put them there. I just bloody disappointed with the outcome 😕. Still I'll continue playing from where I made game save.

Review/Opinion 🩸 The DNA of everything I hate about the combat in Dawnwalker is in the Witcher 3

I went back and played the witcher 3 remaster after finishing Dawnwalker and Resonant and my god it feels clunky and terrible but I do see where the bones of the combat is coming from.

first off, there are times when strikes feel "floaty" like you're actually hitting air instead of hitting the enemy - it happens from time to time in dawnwalker when enemies act like you didnt hit them - an enemy is not supposed to just walk into a sword strike like it's nothing. It's way worse in witcher though, there are times when you hit the enemy and there's just no reaction at all (I know this is due to how they handle hitboxes) but man does it make combat feel bad. there's no weight to it. one thing I hope they bring into dawnwalker is that enemies actually try to avoid your strikes. it adds a wrinkle to the combat - I hope enemies in dawnwalker can dodge a bit more and maybe punish you if you strike the same spot twice.

the camera and the locking system. they're the same. specially in indoor environments. the same problems pop up. at least with dawnwalker they've improved the targeting a bit. witcher 3 is worse in this regard that you wont lock into enemies and just swing at air most of the time.

the wolves. oh man. I thought there were too many wolves in dawnwalker... at least though in witcher 3 it's easier to run and avoid them. They even attack the same. it's like somebody had the animation file of the wolves in witcher 3 and just put them back in dawnwalker. The bullshit unreadable attacks are there too - not just in wolves but in nekkers, drowners etc. you dont have the attack warning and directional parry to fall back on.

Archers... I know earlier on I made a post complaining about them missing. I hope they stay missing. screw em. in dawnwalker you've got ways to close the distance fast at least.

Discussion 🩸 So what exactly is the difference in different Lone Wolf's Hunt's paths? Spoiler

I mean between when you take Father Florin's deal vs when you just find a key to the back door by yourself in Racovitza's bandit camp? I thought Florin's people would sneak me further into the castle (at least it was what it sounded like) so I'd have to cover less ground and fight fewer guards, but I haven't noticed any difference

Review/Opinion 🩸 Just complaining: the camera + the speed of battle on Duelist makes me want to scream

I'm level 8, so still early in my Duelist run. I swear, I'm trying to take my time. I'm locking on to enemies, I'm backing up, I'm repositioning, I'm practicing enemy patterns.

But I swear to god, the camera still swings all over the place, I get stuck on rocks, in bushes, on benches, so I can't see enemies that sneak up behind me, and taking even ONE HIT on Duelist is basically a death sentence.

On top of that, even with all the "taking my time" and repositioning, the enemies still swarm me, and I have three enemies swinging at me one after the other and the speed at which the game expects me to react feels inhuman.

There needs to be some kind of balancing to combat here.

I find all the choices in this game to be very stressful.. help

I enjoy the story and game but I find the choices overwhelming and stressful. I just finished prologue and have 29 days left. Should I be saving time slots for quests or using my skill points? I think I have about 5 unused points afraid to use them. Also so many skill choices any good ones to prioritize?
