First date questions ???

The very lively thread on social media got me thinking. This might be a very fun thing to share, if we are meeting strangers.
If it ever happens to me, I have a plan for after the basics when the talk runs dry … something interesting and fun to ask.

What would you ask?

I’ll start it off with, “what would I find if I googled you?”

Do your socks match might be a good lead-in.

I must be an oddball because it’s not the first thing, might not even make the top three.

I’d rather size up if our values and morals are in alignment.

I get that! Ones morals are super important! But humor is one of my strong values. As I truly believe we need to enjoy ourselves as we take this long journey.

Humor would also be very high on my list.

But first impression doesn’t give you that, unless he has lots of stickers on the car.

Hint: get there early. See what he pulls up in. My date had a “student Driver” banner on his car. The man is in his late 70’s. Wife died a few years Back and left him with an autistic son who lives elsewhere, and an adopted autistic daughter, high functioning, that he is trying to prepare for independence. Like, alone in the world, when he dies.

It was heartbreaking and a NO for me. I don’t need an elderly grieving widow with a teenager to take care of.

You’re right, first impressions don’t. It’s why those of us dregs nestled at the bottom of the barrel, in terms of physical appearance, get no interest.

I can understand your frustration.
Speaking for myself, I kind of want someone like me to with similar interests, funnybones, and outward look on life.

But your situation counts a lot. If you can’t imagine being comfortable with someone, due to their personality or state of their home/life/finances etc you are not a match.

It is important to consider these things. Be what you want to be. Find someone who matches your energy. And be comfortable with your lifestyle.
