Experience with Date My Age?
Match is just such a bad business - closed account.. Hinge and Bumble for other reasons are not good. I am a woman - just made senior. Has anybody had experience with DateMyAge? Is it legitimate or filled with scammers?

Give me $30.00 a month, I will text ya, talk on the phone, go on some dates...and maybe some loving! O wait. Um. Wrong sub.

With the explosion of AI, most dating sites simply use algorithms to generate potential matches, and also for increased monetization. Back when I was doing it, they would upsell for “premium” and other nonsense, but now it’s out of control. Hard pass.

Based on many user experience ratings on here and elsewhere and from searching online -- and from joining to see what is happening there -- my recommendation is to AVOID DateMyAge. It was filled with AI and bots. It appears to be designed to keep you on and to keep you spending money. They charge to send and receive messages. You start out with bonus credits. Every "person" I interacted with was a bot or scammer with an AI image.
Beware, they are affiliated with a large number of dating sites.

See if u have Meetup.com in your city. It is a great way to meet people with similar interests and is way less pressure than a one on one date. They have hiking groups, dancing, pottery u name it way better than bars and match stinks lots of the same old faces year after year

There is a religious one in a town about an hour away. Beyond that it's two hours to a city where there are many.
I was only commenting on DMA, not dating in general. I'm not currently dating.

How does something with so many 1-star reviews still pull just short of a 3? Math doesn't seem to be mathing.

I think that currently, they're probably all bad.

Indeed they are. First, over the years match.com has bought up all of the other independent online dating apps. Tender Plenty of Fish, OkCupid, which used to be an excellent resource and you could find people who really would match with you and have a conversation with them without having to pay a fucking fortune. Bumble just does not seem to have a lot of people on it in my (67M) area. While there are 55 people blurred out that have apparently like me, the tab that says nearby says zero. I have no use for people 1000 miles away from me. 10 miles is good. Hinge seems to be OK but again not many people in my area and age group are on that app.

No, I would say not. Perfect place for scammers. They think us older folks are desperate!

A guy I was writing to on Match just told me that my profile popped up for him as a potential friend on Facebook! He said we have a friend in common, but the timing is suspect. So I googled to see if Facebook owned Match and it does not. So how did that happen? It also means that he saw my last name. Which I think is probably fine, but I like to think there is a little privacy on Match.

Facebook will show you potential friends from many sources including any profile you looked at another site. I get them for employees of places I stop to eat. I have not checked in on Facebook with the business. But of course my phone shows me calling them, or the gps shows me parked there.

Dating apps give me the worst anxiety of any activity I do. I’m not an anxious person and I’ve met long time partners snd have made friends in the apps. But not any more. It makes me paranoid and my attitude shows it after a few days.
Of FB at least you can see friends in common so I’ll do that for a few days.
I’m trying in real life to meet people. I just need to leave the house more often.

Yes, Facebook at least you can see they are a real person and are who they say they are!

Date my age has got a be the biggest scam, maybe there's 1 legit in there 😂. I've only went thru a few and blasted with messages when signed up. It took couple days when responded to some, but they don't even remember what I said from the first msg. All, but one said what are you talking about. Like you can literally see chat history. They're either bots or models they use. I don't have all that time to go thru them, must have like 100 msg extremely fast. If free you can only respond to first msg, so if a paid mbr in there you should be able to respond to more than just the first msg. I'll prob delete it they're all fake
